Hi Ingrid! I'm a new subbie! I have a tip for a quick pickup tool. I use a thin wood skewer(cut the pointy tip off) and dab a dot of Tombow Mono Adhesive (Green/White bottle) on one of the ends. When it dries, it is tacky so you can pick up things! When it looses its stickiness, just dab a bit more glue on. I've used this for years and have a few so I never have to search around for the pick up tool. Love your videos. Thank you for sharing your talent!
I use a cocktail stick with a tiny ball of blue tack or white tack it's best to leave it over night after making it so the tack isn't so sticky with the heat of your hands I normally make 2 at a time and I've been using mine for 10 months now so cheap and not bulky. Love your ideas of using our supplies and yes I'm also guilty they don't call it stash for nothing lol. Love your videos thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍💖
Awesome tips. Just recently I pulled out a bunch of materials I was hoarding for a while and just sat down and made like 40 cards. It was very satisfying to use up these old stored away items. It gave me something to do during covid lockdown. Got my mojo back. Great all around. 😊👍
I love these ideas. You know i looked at a couple of rolls of busy washi tape i was given years ago and thought I'm never gonna use them and put them in my goodwill basket. Well now I'm getting them out cause i finally have inspo! You're a gem. Thank you 😂
I just found your video today and love all your ideas for scraps. I too have a hard time throwing away the strips. Thanks for all the ideas you shared,I am going to put my scraps to good use. Have a Blessed day....BTW, I also subscribed when I was just part way into this video.
You are so welcome Pauline! Though I'll challenge that you aren't an artist! There's an artist in all of us. It's just waiting for us to step into that and call ourselves that. Let me know how it goes! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment! 😘
I use a drill pen (for diamond painting) with the wax provided. It also works great for placing or inlaying small diecuts. I have the Crystal Katana, and much prefer using the drill pens.
Wonderful tips and tricks...I am currently making sets of cards to give YMCA employees. (160) So these ideas will keep my designs fresh. An earlier video of yours about using scraps came into play when I combined gel prints with them!! Love your channel! 🥳 HNY!
This is terrific! I know how to do all of these ideas, but I never thought of putting them into a formula. I am just about to cull my art supplies because I feel I am at a use it or lose it moment. This will help me use them or send them on to someone else if I realize I am no longer interested in them. Thank you!
@@IngridBlackburn, I think you gave me some great ideas for my supplies that just sit there, namely, my sequins! I bought some for shaker cards before I realised that I struggle (for some reason) with shaker cards! :( So, bring out the glue and sequins & I am going to have a few cards made lickity split! (and I love the washi tape card, too!)
When applying diamante to nails I use a toothpick with a small amount of 'blue tac' on the tip (moulded to a rounded point). It picks up and releases PERFECTLY!!
I'm very inspired to make a similar masculine card with washi tape and the heart shape....I need to make some men's cards, and this was a great idea...thank you so much. PLUS I have so much mixed media "stuff" that I never use because I'm not sure how to...now I can do a similar background too!. Thank you so much..Love this
I TOTALLY have this problem Tom where I have all these scraps and no ideas. SO helpful! My 7yo daughter was inspired and started crafting while watching your video. Great ideas and engaging. Thanks for sharing your spirit and ideas : )
Rather than mess around with the sticky clay in that quickstick from WRMK. Which I finally figured out. I just add a drop of Tombo mono repositional (green lud) Rather than pulling off the bad part & squeezing out new sticky stuff. PS. I'm gonna try the bee's wax! Love that idea & different level of sticky.
Thanks for taking the time to make the video. I just took a look at your blog, and you asked readers for their opinions about different design decisions. Personally, I like it when you go through the process---it's great to see you improve a design that looked pretty good.
Glad you like them! I made all the smaller pieces - the larger ones are all done with oil and palette knife by my favority artist - Leonid Afremov. He had such an incredible command of color and palette knife. They make me smile every time I look at them. Glad you enjoyed the tutorial!! Thanks for watching! 😀😀🎨
I just spent yesterday organizing supplies and didn’t have any idea exactly how many sequins I have. Guess what I will be trying! The formula is awesome, I am going to post it on the wall over my desk.😊
Ingrid, where have you been all my life??? Lol! Great video! You have a pleasant voice and demeanor! And I love that heart-sequin card! Simple yet gorgeous! I subscribed! Tfs!💖😊
I have loads and loads of scraps trying to do things that will help use them up but I have loads to use I’ve bin doing a lot of albums and storage boxes ect but I can’t make too much as no where really to store it so it doesn’t get ruined xx
I completely forgot that I had bought some used marion smith color lab pigment powders. I put too much powder down when I tried to use them and didn't like them. I also made a STUPID mistake. To try Brushos, a few years ago, I bought red and green. I was working on Christmas. They don't blend! They were boring! I bought a set of 10 brushos, I now have 2 duplicates, and they came on Saturday. I am having a blast with the color lab and brushos today! I haven't used my watercolor iridescent medium in a long while. I am going to grab that too.
Thank you for this video! I definitely have many types of materials in my stash that I don't use, but had to have. I shop my stash first before I go buy stuff....right now I am only buying essentials like glue or card stock for bases. I love the washi tape idea....I have a bunch but never use it. The other thing I have tons of is old DSP paper and scraps.....I have found some good cutting techniques to cut down the DSP to make simple cards that I donate to Cards for Soldiers, but am looking for new ideas for the scraps! I currently keep a Ziploc bag on my desk to put cut down pieces into shapes or too small scraps in to donate to preschool classes for collage art. Do you have any fun ideas for scraps?
Please could you comment with the name of the glue you mentioned as I didn’t quite catch it and can’t read the label. I looked in the supplies list and couldn’t find it there. It does look like a great product
She specifically mentioned & showed Nuvo drops adhesive -- at roughly 4:03. The glue she used earlier looks to be the Thermo Web which is next to the Nuvo in the supply list. Hope this helped you.
DIY pick up tool? Have I got one for you! Not only is it easy but you can customize the size. Take a small dowel 1/4 or 1/8 and sharpen the end with a Hand held pencil sharpener. Sharpen the end of the dowel to the point you want...I make several point sizes...then dip the ends in a tacky glue like Aleene's Tack it over and over and let it dry. Voila! Easy, inexpensive pick up tools!
Thanks! What great ideas! Loved them all. I have lots of sequins... love the bling but how many can you use after all. I can do that one. And the Washi tape...wow, it'll help me use up some of that too...I think in a collector instead of a crafter! Thanks SOOOO much!
Great ideas Ingrid!! Thanks again!! Very inspiring!
I really like that you teach using what you already have. I have bought so much and need to use what I have. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love doing this type of crafting! So fun💖💖💖💖😁

I bought a sticky tool, that wore off the sticky part. I do the same as you, Tombo green top, repositional glue, re-energized the 'stick' GMTA!
Yessssss you described me. Right at the beginning. Thankyou great ideas.
I don't usually use sequins but Love what you did with heart & tree! But the Wagi tape & wood --- mmwaaah! Excellent -- thanks so Very Much.
My favorite was the wood look. Thanks for the great ideas!
I love your washi tape card ....the wood grain is awesome.

Very helpful video 👍👍👍thanks for sharing. By the way paintings behind you are awesome 💕
Magnifique!!
a great pick up tool is a tooth pic dipped in bees wax. Tacky on one end and pocky on the other.
What a great recommendation Sylvie! I love that idea. I'll have to try that. Thanks for watching!! 😁😁😁

Put a small amount of poster putty on the end of a thin dowel or orange stick. Makes a great pick up tool.

Hi Ingrid, where can I buy a book with sentiments?
Please could you comment with the name of the glue you mentioned as I didn’t quite catch it and can’t read the label. I looked in the supplies list and couldn’t find it there. It does look like a great product
