HEY BRO!
I’m bike 798x “Reed Christensen” I hit the buttons on your Stella. A quarter mile away I sent those locals in their truck back to help you out. So glad everything turned out okay, thought about you several times!
Thank you so much man. I appreciate the help. I freaking love baja and the people who race in. Stay in touch. Maybe I can repay the favor with a ride around here?
Morgan, I'm quite sure nobody on your team feels like you let them down, in fact quite the opposite, your crash was one of those things that just happens when you ride dirt bikes, thanks for the videos as they gave me a much better understanding of what goes in to racing the Baja 1000.
Total respect man , you are a hell of a rider! Most people cant fathom what it takes to race at night in the fog and dust and keep up a fast pace. Its super hero stuff!
447x , our team member was clipped by a Trophy truck at 900 miles. Also a DNF from that. TBT did a awesome job on our suspension. We probably would of finished if not hit. GOD SPEED on your recovery!
Damn! I have been brushed by one of those things before and it is the scariest thing ever.
Watched the crash on slow-motion a few times and this looks almost exactly like what happens after my forks get heat soaked. The first time it happened I was in shock just the same as you. The second time it clicked and I gave the bike a run down. Forks were full of air and I was unintentionally putting more than usual weight up front to get them to feel more normal or balanced. Now when it happens I recognize it right away and bleed the forks and/or take the rear rebound down a half or quarter turn which doesn’t help any bit with speed in the whoops but does give a bit of more security next time they heat soak. Hope you have a speedy recovery! See ya next spring for the clean up!
Glad you're semi-okay man, that crash looked PAINFUL. Get well and hopefully riding again soon!
Sitting here watching this with a broken (now plated) collarbone and scapula. Similar crash - hit a rock that bucked me over and the bike landed on me. Heal up quick and solid riding!
The important thing is that you're okay...ish! 😉You can only do what you can do. Not a lot of people can say the have done the things you have. Great job!!!
Hey, Brett here. Early OCT I asked to borrow bolt cutters and you were prepping for the race as I walked in. Vid was great until the wreck - man I feel your pain and wish you the speediest of recoveries. Congrats on the race overall and great job to those who helped out. I have a new perspective on the Baja 1000. I’ll stop by the shop if we can make it out next summer. Rest up!
Heck yea brother. Thanks for sharing your experience. I've raced 2 Glen Helen 24 hour team races and have been wanting to join a Baja 1,000 team in the 40+ expert or pro class.
Baja is addicting. Rode there several years ago with friends that did the 1000 point to point. Glad you are healing up.
Thanks.
You guys are rockstars just for signing up, no less finishing after a crash. Glad you're "ok" !
Stoked for you guys... Glad all home safe and you're on the mend!! Cheers
Props to you and the team, be well.
I clap my hands at you for doing the race
That was the best video ever, other than the crash, but wow man you really put together a show brother. I know that sound well (trying to catch your breath after a major crash) unfortunately - I went down and broke my back, collapsed lung, 6 broken ribs during a desert race. Super glad you're okay and you will get revenge soon!!! Thanks Morgan for the excellent job you do...heal up good.
EDIT: played the crash in slow motion and noticed you got your body weight forward prior to the crash, not sure if that played into how the bike got spring in the rear and then it endoed after you hit a dip... Also noticed the bike flipped right over the top of you, damn that's a super close call, that bike could have taken you out.
That was a nasty wipe out.Glad your okay. This race looks very cool.Would love to race the BaHa1000.
I live and ride in north AZ, if you've ever ridden here you know it's all rocks all the time, we ride a lot of rocks. I ride Husky's that handle great but every once in a while, if all the conditions are right you will hit a rock that will want to pitch you over the bars like the old days. I've done a couple handstands in the last couple years just like what happened to you, only luckily I was able to hang on to it. Glad you're basically ok.
Thanks. I know rocks very well coming from western CO. Usually it works out but sometimes it doesn't.
Two years in a row.. I deflected off a rock while riding on a bed of fixed rocks and both times I took out the same knee. Well.. the tibial plateau which is buried inside your knee. Fractured all sorts of ways with spiral break to boot. Somehow.. someway.. even though the fracture bisected my ACL each time it stayed intact and the bone didn’t displace. Messed up the meniscus the second time around though.
The first one was at a hare scramble so there were plenty of people. The second I was on a sanctioned ride only there was no mobile service. Just like two of our own events this one has ham radio operators stationed at strategic locations. Someone runs to a radio station and they relay the message to other stations till it eventually gets back to base. Then they send help. I rode two up out of that situation. Got some pain meds on the spot for that ride lol.
Heal up soon sir. I almost couldn’t listen to the groans. Scary shit
We were there chasing 764x, whose race ended at RM 327. Really great to see some of the course he rode via your video. Glad you were ok and finished as a team well. Thanks for sharing and get em next time.
Sucks to hear about your injury. I just crashed before Thanksgiving andbroke my collar bone too. Got mine plated and recovering now.
Great job on the video. Sorry about your bad fortune. Get better soon. Already planning next ride(s) is awesome. I’ll tune in for sure.
You were riding so strong up to that point, such a bummer and emotional moment, but great riding, you did so well. Thanks for sharing 👍
Wow-thank you what a great video section! Your front brake repair was a mini-master class on preparation. Having and knowing where your tools are is so critical to keeping the bike on the road! Really enjoyed your video, and glad you're on the mend!
🤘🏻👍🏻
Im so glad you are going to be alright. That race is no joke, well done on what you accomplished with your team. Rest up.
So glad to hear you're doing better. You did an awesome job in that race. We all know that sometimes that earth can just reach out and grab ya.
You hit the perfect buck in bronco…. Eeeeeek so glad you’re good to ride again!
Me too!!
Awesome vid man keep up the great work! Heal up!
Killer sunrise!
Right on Morgan!! You had a great ride up to your crash. I'm glad you are OK. I know about both your injuries. The hamstring takes a while to heal. BTW, Living in CO and riding the rocks regularly put you in a great position for passing. I could tell you were going at pro speed through them. I'm so happy to see your channel grow and look forward to meeting you someday during my travels across the country.
Wow! Even with the racing lights riding the course at night is very challenging. If it were possible i would want more lights. You did a great job keeping the bike right side up and moving. A few times i thought you were going to crash but you held onto the bike. The race ending crash was a painful bummer but regardless you gave it a solid effort. Thanks for making the video. I enjoyed watching the action.
Sometimes you eat the bar, and sometimes the bar eats you.
Got the ol' huck-a-buck. Riding in Baja with the sun coming up would be epic as frig. Looks like a killer time minus the broken stuff. Glad to see you're in good spirits. You'll be back out there in no time.
dude on quad just full madman mode haha awesome
That guy was gnarly
Getting off sucks! Glad you’re recovering and glad you guys finished.
glad you are OK...i agree super strange reaction from the bike...i rewatched it multiple times and every time was like "huh???"
Another great video, sorry to see you got hurt, get well soon and get after it. Look forward to your review on the knee braces. Take care mate 👍
What an adventure! It's good to see you up walking. Great finish. Keep doing it while you're still young, when you older it takes a lot longer to heal up. Getting old sucks. LOL. It just snowed here to. Ride safe my 2 wheel friends.
Nice save in the silt! You are a maniac! Takes a special someone to ride crazy pace in the dark like that.
Racing 2025 unlimited. Stoked my first at 50
Awesome brother!!
WOW... Just binged all the episodes. Just crazy. I was like, "I recognize that section from the pre-run." It'd be interesting to see that exact spot on your pre-runs. I would say, you most certainly did NOT let anyone down. Crashes happen, things break... it's all part of it. What an amazing support team to get you taken care of and the bike back moving. Super glad you were OK and that things will heal up.
Thanks man
Can you elaborate on who the team was, you mentioned TBT I believe, I want to learn more about them and the 400x bike
Super cool!
Great run great videos. Really sorry about the get off. You sure were getting to it, big fun to watch. Thought it would be in the silt but, just the opposite. Collar bones suck, nothing is comfortable. Nice to hear you looking forward to the next run.. Hope the healing goes well and quick.
you didn't let anyone down bro' - it's racing, poop happens
Glad you are ok... great video, great riding man... that endo was hard, you guys got the complete Baja experience...
Yes it was!
Great riding brother!! Glad you are safe and back home! I was looking forward to meeting you at the finish, I was a chase driver for neels 400x. Get well soon man!! 💯
Thanks man. We will get together eventually
Awesome video, glad you are healing well. I don’t think any of your team feels you let them down.
Dang my man, im so glad you're ok this could have been way worse. Not sure how I could help you but if you need anything give me a shout bud 👍
Keep it pushing bro
You are now officially on team Proginner. 😂
I was worried about booby traps myself not so much on my first section which was 785 to 945. But my section 1070 to 1187, all the San Felipe stuff. I was worried about them in this section because there’s a lot of people. luckily and surprisingly I didn’t see a single booby trap which was cool.
Like I mentioned to you before, one of those rocks about took me out two weeks before while pre-running, exact same just boom and over the bars, never saw it hidden in the shade. And another one almost killed my teammate during last year‘s Baja 1000. I almost preferred the night as it made it easier to see those little bastards.
Those were some "war flashbacks" you've gave me. Hope you keep getting better Morgan!
Great riding but sometimes crap happens. Damn, that looked really nasty and, obviously, it was. Glad you made it out and you'll be back to it in the not so distant future!
Heal up Morgan. It's really hard to watch that tumble because 1- you were in the lead! And 2- I've had big bang-ups like that and it just brings the pain to the surface of my memory.
Inspiring just how positive you've been about the whole thing, you ran a helluva race!
Thanks, as always, for sharing!
Thanks
God bless and speedy recovery, friend!!!🤘🤘🤘
Nice ride Morgan you were on a roll, you have some great team mates, Sucks being busted up, collar bones and knees, hard to get comfortable. Hope your injuries mend well, nobody likes being on the injured list, good luck on the healing up.
Loved this video because it was emotional for me. Dude, you are the man!
Thanks man
Excellent video series Morgan. I enjoyed it very much.
Thanks
Bummer on the race-day wreck Morgan! Broken collarbones are the worst. I've snapped my right one snowboarding and it was a long, painful healing process. Hope yours goes by fast. Have some fun while you're down and keep your spirit up!
🤘🤘🤘 hope you have a good healing process!
Awesome result to finish were the team did .speedy recovery
Awesome story, my friend . I'm glad you are ok. From Texas.
The Stars At Night, Are Big And Bright…
Glad you are ok and it wasn’t worse than what it actually was. Looked bad! Hope you heal fast!
Nice ride! Bummer on the worn out transmission…. And banjo bolt….beautiful starting at 17:10! Wow! Baja!
Love it down there
wow, that is a bad way to go out of a race! Glad you are going to be ok! Heal up buddy
Heel up my friend, we try again next time!
Wow, that looked hellish-glad you're somewhat okay and healing! Crashing happens, you'll be back at it!!
Yessir
Great video hope to see you ride again hope you get will fast hang in there 👍
Oh we will be back at it.
Badass videos brother! Sorry about your crash. I bet the Ole XR650 wouldn’t have done ya dirty like that!😁 Wishing you speedy recovery.
500x Chase 1 HQ here, glad your ok.
great video.
Thanks
Helluva crash, you did good. Right on Morgan.
17min in racing with the sunrise... amazing!!!!
Yeah. That was such a cool feeling
Cool vid..
Holy bucking bronco! Glad you're ok man!!!!
Great video dude, glad your ok. It’s a great adventure
It sure is
You are very brave to race such a high speed race like that. Get well soon.
Great riding man "GETR' DONE" get rite back on, and make us a video next year. Get well.
Ouch...that brought back some not so good memories. Good to see your doing alright.
Great job Morgan, freak crash Buddy...heal up and then get back to it, all in all great ride contribution to the team.👊🏻👍🏻💪🏻
👍🏻😍
Morgan I feel so bad for ya, hidden land mines suck 🍻here’s to a speedy recovery
Just before your crash it looked as if your body position was too far forward and the rear rebound looked to be too fast as well. When I look at 26:28 the bike kicked you forward too but becasue your body position was more neutral the front could dig in too much and you managed to save it.
Damn bro glad you’re ok. Hope to see you at Enduro fest this year.
Man Morgan you were riding so good bummer about your crash i really think you guys would have won. Next time buddy! Thanks for sharing your ride🤘
Thanks
I raced mile 200 to 300. I know exactly where you crashed. I was racing with 232x, the Warrior Built Foundation. You were hauling ass. 🤘
I hit a lot of rocks that bucked me, but I wasn't going fast enough to crash. I can feel that crash. Hopefully I'll see you out there next year.
Great Job Morgan, all respect to you. That looked like a blast, minus the end. The only way to guarantee not getting injured is to not go out and Ride Your Dirt BIKE!
Well, that stinks! Thankful it wasn't worse! Will be praying you up straight and fast, buddy. ✌️🙏
Hey love you're videos, Racing and mechanical videos keep up the great work and riding videos crashes suck! Ride Fast take Chances 😊
What a pity, you did so well up to the crash, time to heal up !!
First of all YOU are a confirmed BadAss! Congrats of riding the b1000 again. I do think if you had a Rekluse :)..Ok, I won't screw with you too much while your down. Heal fast, and get back on the horse.
Good luck on the next one!!! As always RIDE SAFE!
Thanks! Will do!
I watched your pre-running clips riding through some of those creek/wash areas.
Crazy how nearly all the rocks, big or small, are round/oval. Marble fields with little to lock them together.
I guess that embedded one had your name. 🤬
Great job to the team!
Get well soon!
Thanks man
My 450FX spit me off a couple of times in similar fashion FWIW. Glad you're OK
Well, we all crash eventually. Just looked like a hidden G out combined with sitting down and fatigue. Riding rocks like that is a complete drain on your brain. Can't stand up all the time but you wouldn't have crashed if you had been standing. Glad you got going again.
Baja is gnarly and on a bike x10. Thanks for sharing and nice GoPro footage. Glad you are doing well and anyone who has raced Baja, knows it can always be worse. I dig the moto side but after racing Baja for over 10 years (Truck) I keep debating on racing a bike. I actually caught some bikes in 18' in the Trophy Truck class and, dang is it sketchy at speed to not hit you guys. The pro's are normally safe on time but the slower bikes are crazy in my opinion knowing a 950hp truck is coming up on them fast! Great videos and keep them coming. Cheers!🏁🇲🇽
Thanks. I have been caught by trucks down there a lot. I soloed in 06. It is terrifying.
@@highlandcycles Ironman class is pretty legit. Although I have soloed the 1000 in a truck, I would say that doesn't really compare to a bike. I remember Alex Smith (Malcom's son) saying when he won one year that his dad didn't want him to race Baja (during his award speech) it was to dangerous. Funny how racer parents do things and tell their kids not to.
@@sanddrifterjb hHahaha. Yep. My boys want to iron man it. I want them to do it but they need more maturity first
Awesome job bud! Sucks you crashed but glad to hear your team finished it off! Congrats! It’d be interesting to see you get a 2 stroke to getr done in Baja! Hope you get all healed up soon! Hopefully you don’t need a plate. It’s no fun having the scar and metal in me from mine :(. Plus doc said when it breaks again it’ll break on the outside 2 inches just past the end of the plate…
Ah that's racing man :( You did awesome! I can tell you were fair moving, 60fps GoPro footage always makes shit look slower than it really was. That visibility at night was mad too
Totally!!
Man that crash came out of nowhere? Cheers for giving it everything you had, hopefully you give it another shot?!
Oh I will.
Great video, get well
Thanks
nice work all, what a race eh - being winded F'in sucks and we never get used to it , crashes happen quick - broke my wrist this last week in a flash on my 500, heal up soon bud
Thanks
Damn that crash was gnarly. But glad your somewhat okay. But for how long you rode you did a great job! 2nd overall, passing that 441!
