I was a police officer and these siren and light controllers have a switch that enables the officer to cycle through the siren tones using the vehicles steering wheel mounted factory horn button to keep your hands on the wheel.
I feel like someone should quiz you on this video because your comment makes me think you weren’t paying attention to what was being explained to you about the touchmater delta
We had a guy (who I’m sure watches this several times a day) who would screw with the siren and piss off the neighbors from OUR garage. Yes yes, it makes noise, we got that. New noise? I don’t care about the new….weewooweeewoo
I've alway been a Federal Sig fan, as far back as the 70's when I was in the badge business. Currently having some FedSig QuadraFlare lights installed on a utility trailer. Not cheap, but damn well made.
SAME. I heard that chime used in early 2000s movies and games, then it just disappeared off the face of the earth. Feels great to finally know where it's from.
3:07, 3:13, 3:23 Is that the sound people are referring to as "ultra hi-low"? The Sheriff's Dept here in my corner of east central MN uses that quite a bit. As crazy or dumb as this might sound, I wouldn't mind having an mp3 of the sweep to use as a ringtone. 📱
Luckily FedSig had digitized all of their Unitrol siren tones and transferred them as an option to the SmartSiren series. I think most people are either unaware or don't know how to program the Smartiren to get the Unitrol tones to work. All Unitrol models were discontinued as there were supply parts problems and departments no longer wanted the large bulky sirens that SmartSiren keypad fixes.
The siren sound is also in Midnight Club 2 for the LAPD Car, NFS 2015, Payback (high pitched but the original siren sound remain there) and NFS Heat (upcoming game at the moment)
My local Sheriff's department run that particular siren, and have been for at least a decade. But what they _really_ need is one of those "rumbler" sirens. There's only a couple of departments that run them near me.
Indiana State Police still use this in 2018. I live along a 4 lane State highway and hear these tones all the time. When they come through town they hit the sweep hi-lo tone at intersections. You can always tell it's a State Trooper coming versus a County Sheriff. They use generic Code3 sirens found in every police car/fire truck/ambulance across the land. Those get old. These never do.
I play a video game on my PC called LSPDFR. I'm not sure if you're familiar with that game but it's a game where you roll play as a police officer. I have police uniforms, Vehicles, Etc. On my police unit I actually have this touchmaster Delta siren pack so I recognized it as soon as I seen the Box. Nice video man! Especially when you hit that last siren stage that you said everyone would remember? And all of my police units on the game are deep with this touchmadter along with the siren setup. I still have yet to make a video with the touchmaster.
The Unitrol Omega 90 does it also. I used to run dual Omega 90s with 4 100 watt ES100 speakers. Sweep is by far the sexiest siren tone ever produced. Edit. I'm wrong. The Omega 90 has a variation of sweep. The UTMD has two tones in one as the final/third tone but the Omega 90 does "wail, yelp, hi lo, then a *phaser gun sound*". THAT'S my favorite tone of all time. This is a Smart Siren with an Omega 90 wired manually into a couple of the extra buttons. th-cam.com/video/oqRodVhIlTk/w-d-xo.html
Why is this siren so complicated? In my old patrol car we had yelp, wail, Hi-Lo, and a manual button, and that was it. This siren seems to need a whole explanation on how to use it.
Also a emergency vehicle outfitter and funeral escort. But Funeral_Escort_emergency_vehicle_upfitter_security_officer_JD would be a ridiculously long name.
I use my truck for security at a night club. The sirens are disabled which is fine. Only the horn function works and it's mounted to a bracket on the front of the vehicle. How do I hook up the PA? Would like to use it to ask people to clear the parking lot. Thank you!
I finally got to experience the amazing tone from this siren when I was living in CA for a bit. I was so upset it didn’t play for longer. I fear that I will never hear it again. Your video made me fall in love with this siren. Are there any new sirens that use this hi lo sound today? Or all of these phased out?
Code3 mastercom b and the RLS sirens have Hi/Lo built in, and CHP’s new siren system has one packed in as well. Code3 Z3 is also programmable and that tone can be added to agencies using those sirens.
Now hook one of those up to an outdoor concert PA system... I don't think I have original ideas... but it would be annoyingly fun... not to mention quite illegal if not in an emergency...
@Thiesen Well siren restrictions are only a motor vehicle issue. If you were off of your rocker, you could have a number of old sirens and speakers set up in some sort of collection. Maybe mounted to a wall in a garage, like I do and then buy old lights mount them on the wall as well. But light are not illegal. Some colors are restricted or regulated but lights as a whole are 110% legal. IF PROPERLY USED!
Omega 5000 is better for the sweep mode because of the diff tones, I had so many departments ask what it was and wanted it...lol However the set back with the 5000 is you loose light buttons. But it is a small control panel, I guess if you didn't have many lights you could just use the aux buttons it has and save a lot of room.
have you seen the rescue 911 segment called #babyfirerescue Truck #1 has a beeping siren which sounds identical to the one at 3:09 but it has no bee-doo bee-doo to it, just the high pitched beeping signal and note: the siren was around in the 80's and is slowly making a comeback.
I was looking for this tone for every, I have no found it. I praise you as my lord and siren savior
Well you are welcome
Now I understand why police cars in the US have automatic gearboxes
Europe also has automatic gearboxes you foolish, as australian, asia, africa
I was a police officer and these siren and light controllers have a switch that enables the officer to cycle through the siren tones using the vehicles steering wheel mounted factory horn button to keep your hands on the wheel.
Oliver Sundström yum in regional areas of Australia but the bush police still use manuals.

I've been trying to figure out what siren creates that unique hi/lo sound, and now I finally know! Here's your thumbs up.
Jeffrey Lebowski ultra hi-lo it’s called
Actually, the pathfinder also does that.
Lightning LuKe_711 pathfinder has the tones of THIS siren. So not nessecarily.
The Unitrol Omega 90 does this as well.
Love that echo being produced by this siren.
Best siren tone ever! Even our local police here in Tulsa, Oklahoma uses this!
I feel like someone should quiz you on this video because your comment makes me think you weren’t paying attention to what was being explained to you about the touchmater delta
Touch master
That must really piss off the neighbors if he's doing this from his garage lol
Hahahahaha

My favorite siren of all time.
So stoked to add one of these to my collection for $60, greaaaat demo man.

Plus Rockstar should add these siren effect in GTA 5 or GTA 6
@@cerisegacha4854 definitely, they should do like Ubisoft did with Watch Dogs 2, I love how they have actual Q sirens and such.
I've only heard that chirp siren in Need for speed 2015.

Love the Unitrol sirens!
Mike Summers San Francisco PD keeps their 480 and 80 k models well maintained since they date back to the ' 80s .
80s! I knew the sirens were old but I didn't know they were THAT old! No wonder you still see SFPD still using 2000 CVPIs.
My favorite siren of all time. Just imagining a pack of CVPIs rolling up, cops jumping out ready to throw down. 😂

J. M. That’s an amazing idea. I’m going to try to do that now 😂😂
This siren my department uses, they didn't switch to Mastercom B like the other departments did in SoCal
I live in Rancho Santa Margarita, Orange County, California and I often hear this type of siren when the fire trucks respond.
You hear this siren a lot in Pierce County, WA because the sheriff's department use this siren.
