    nice vid. i am about to do one as well but the pattern is too big for the 12 mini if soneone is about to use that one. you have to scale it down. gotta find out how much first

    • @TeranAtelier
      @TeranAtelier  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, I will add a note that it is too big for the iPhone 12 mini. However, you should be able to use the stitching line as your final outline as it is only 63mm wide. You will then need to place your stitching line very close to the edge and mold/shape the front pocket so you can still fit enough cards. This is how the factory made Magsafe wallets manage to make them fit.

      @@TeranAtelier yes i saw that but then i have to make new stiching dots, so i will try to scale it down:)

    Greetings. I made the same product, but the magnet is very weak and does not stick. Can you give a link where you bought the magnet.

    • @TeranAtelier
      @TeranAtelier  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, I bought mine a few years ago so I am not sure that shop is still available however, most of the magnets will be the same generic product. I suggest checking which side of the magnets you are using because it is stronger on one side. Also the the leather thickness between the magnet and the iPhone should be as thin as possible, maybe 0.5-0.7mm, so the magnets will act stronger.

    Does it fit on every new iphones? I mean iphone 12 mini, pro, etc...

    • @TeranAtelier
      @TeranAtelier  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The design was based on the existing Magsafe wallet and will fit iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro Max. I have not tested it on the iPhone Mini. Best practice would be to do a small test before beginning crafting.

    Nice wallet! Looks really cool with the red. Did you happen to have any issues with the cards getting their magnet strips scrambled with the magnets? I'm trying to make one as well, but trying to figure out if i should add a piece of steel in between the magnets and the card. Would love to hear your thoughts on this.

    • @TeranAtelier
      @TeranAtelier  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! I have not found any issues personally. The way that Apple solves this is to add a layer of shielding in within the wallet. There are some card protection sleeves that you can buy online that say they can protect cards from demagnetizing. Getting hold of one of these and using it as a layer within the leather would be the best solution.

    Nice video. How do you go about edge painting curved corners since there is no defined break? If you stop halfway to let it dry, won't it be difficult to continue where you left off?

    • @TeranAtelier
      @TeranAtelier  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! The same steps work but you need to be more careful and apply thinner continuous layers. Depending on your paint you can dilute it with a bit of distilled water to help thin it out but you will require more layers.

    Love the work, do the magnets have to be orientated in a certain way? It looks like you placed them in with the blue sticker facing away from the phone, if that makes sense!

    • @TeranAtelier
      @TeranAtelier  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes they only work in one direction. If you plan to try, make sure you test both orientations first

    Nice work, I would like to ask about magnets. Does the wallet hold well on the mobile or are the magnets weak?

    • @TeranAtelier
      @TeranAtelier  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! To use it properly you need to use it directly to the back of the phone or onto a phone case which also has magnets. The generic magnets are quite strong and hold well but I haven't compared it with an official product.

    Love the making process! I wanted to get into leather crafting and this seems like a pretty straight forward project for a beginner. Do you happen to have a list of tools needed to complete this project?

    • @TeranAtelier
      @TeranAtelier  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! This project is a bit harder as it has so many layers that all need to be thin to work. I would recommend another simpler project th-cam.com/video/briTRPFL5A0/w-d-xo.html where there is also a list of tools and materials in the video description.

    hello how big is original one ? i have your design and use it on iPhone 8 with magnetic case and idk if it fit

    • @TeranAtelier
      @TeranAtelier  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Apple's is 64.2 x 94.9mm and my design is around 3mm wider and taller as pricking iron stitches need more space than a sewing machine. It should be ok for standard and Max size but I know it is not good for Mini.

    I wonder if you used 2 prong or 1 prong pricking iron to do the corner at th-cam.com/video/Ipc4bpvLjyw/w-d-xo.html ? I wish you can show how to do the corner with 2 prong perfectly and securely without causing damage to the stitching line because of the turn and twist on the corner. I am still struggling with it. Thanks.

    • @TeranAtelier
      @TeranAtelier  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For this pattern I used a two prong in the corner which is how I arranged the stitching holes in the pattern. A diamond awl or single prong would make the stitches slightly more uniform than using a two prong. For me most of the hard work is done in the design stage in CAD where I plan all my holes especially around curved corners, I will have a video on how I do this in future.
