As mentioned, all the main councilors were vampires in other vampire films - Taika Waititi, Jermaine Clement, and Jonny Brugh were in the original What We Do in the Shadows movie, Tilda Swinton was in Only Lovers Left Alive, Wesley Snipes was in Blade, Evan Rachel Wood was in True Blood, Danny Trejo was in From Dusk Til Dawn, and Paul Reubens was in the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer (and was Peewee Herman). They also name drop Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt from Interview with a Vampire, Robert Pattinson from Twilight, and Kiefer Sutherland from The Lost Boys.

Another vampire that couldn’t show up, Keifer (Southerland) who played a vampire in Lost Boys. And if you didn’t know Paul (Ruebens) was a vampire in Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie.
