The Curse Mark that was supposed to enslave Sasuke to steal his body & power, was used to enslave Orochimaru to steal his power. Then he formed a team with Orochimaru's subordinates & captives. 😆 Then theres cocky little Deidara (DEADara). Tried to kill someone who did nothing to him. Chose the wrong guy to mess with & paid the price. Completely outclassed mentally & physically. Being drove to suicide after all the trash talking he did. What a loser!
For real, Tsunade sounds corny putting this squad together and thinking they have a chance at beating Itachi, let alone capturing him alive. Should have sent Jiraiya or Guy if they wanted to be serious about actually achieving that goal.
Gaara was defeated by a Deidara who held back to capture him alive & had one bag of clay. Whereas a holding back Sasuke defeated a fully equipped Deidara who had an ally's help, aerial advantage plus a preplanned strategy with the landmines & counter for genjutsu.
