Jon Jones vs Daniel Cormier is one of if not the greatest rivalry in the UFC... My favourite line was “Jon you really think i’m just gonna sit here and let you kill me Jon, like seriously” 😂
DC’s story is insane. Jon Jones was not the first goat he ran into. During DC’s college wrestling career at Oklahoma, he was one of the best wrestlers in the country. Would have been the best but found himself multiple times in a championship against Cael Sanderson… The greatest collegiate wrestler to ever do it. Undefeated throughout his entire career at Iowa State. 159-0 with 4 NCAA titles and Olympic gold medalist. You won’t find another fighter with a tougher path than DC. In my opinion that is why he’s in the top 5 of all time. If it wasn’t for Jon Jones I think he would have never lost at light heavyweight. And also if it wasn’t for his love of his teammate Cain Velasquez he could have been the champion at heavyweight for a long time. He did not move up to heavyweight until he was in his 40s I believe if not almost 40 years old. Appreciate you DC!
He’s always been a GOAT for me. Jones didn’t use steroids here and there, he was clearly on PED’s his WHOLE career. Like his brothers. Great insights on the injury and other stuff imo. Super interesting discussion. I also wonder about how muscles are easier to grow and develop than connective tissue. And there is always a limit to what our connective tissue can take I think, and larger muscles put more stress
DC is Gold for opening up & being honest about his battles with Jon. He mad the best battles with Jon! DC without question was The Real Deal. Salute 🫡 DC
Much respect for DC to even have this conversation. True warrior and a source of some of the best fights I've watched. And to come out on the other end still jovial and humble.. Incredible character.

"When your fighting guys like Jones, he's so tall he's so rangy and he just understood...fighting, the guy just understands fighting and It makes him hard to deal with." Truer words have never been spoken. Huge fan of Bones (wishing him a healthy recovery and eventual return), and I love what DC said about Jon here. He may have qualms with Jon as a person, but he always gave Jon the credit he deserved as a fighter. MMA will never see another talent like JJ. Youngest champ for a reason In UFC history for a reason, and the oldest out of all 8 current UFC champions. Ran through and ended legends In his prime being the first guy to beat DC and Glover In the UFC, first guy to finish Rampage, first guy to submit TRT Vitor In the UFC, Machida, Gustafsson, etc. and truly learned to separate the art from the artist. And still hasn't been stopped or finished In his MMA career to this day. JJ is undeniable.
Jon is basically Einstein of MMA similar to DJ. He has 16 (17) title fight wins, which would be similar to having 40+ title defenses in boxing. Even Khabib is like Aristoteles and Socrates of MMA. These three know how to do some magic.
@@soulzy3596 Greatness shouldn't just be measured by title defenses. Khabib is the most dominant fighter in combat sports history. Didn't even bleed during 29 pro fights and 100+ amateur fights. And unfortunately for Khabib, Conor took the belt as a hostage for 2 years along with Khabib being away for 2 years due to surgeries after the RDA fight who went on a 5 fight winning streak before becoming the champ after losing to Khabib.

wow, returned to watchin UFC last year after a long break and had no idea of the man behind the voice!
He was a double champ in the ufc, had some fun fights, I recommend u watch both jones fights and all 3 against stipe
@@willthinkofsomethinglater will do!
DC is the most humble dude. For an absolute champ, he sure does give praise where it’s due. No ego.
Hahahahhahaha Joe and DC dying laughing is fuckin the best
There is something just awesome about dc talking about fight and jones. So endearing.. love the respect. "That shit hurt" shit is too funny
daniel cormier's face looks soooooooooooooo familiar on this podcast 😄😄
it's like he was meant to be there
exactly , he's also so friendly @@DannyBlendzzz
Seeing DC laughing so comfortably about the rivalry is really cool.
Great insights on the injury and other stuff imo. Super interesting discussion. I also wonder about how muscles are easier to grow and develop than connective tissue. And there is always a limit to what our connective tissue can take I think, and larger muscles put more stress
It's so weird hearing Daniel swear left and right lol
DC said Mike Tyson bit Lennox Lewis. He bit Holyfield
He obviously slipped up, he knows his stuff
DC is Gold for opening up & being honest about his battles with Jon. He mad the best battles with Jon! DC without question was The Real Deal. Salute 🫡 DC
*Damn apparently Mike Tyson bit Lennox Lewis too and I completely missed it!*
There is no words to describe how actually sophisticated DC is. Great martial artist for sure.
DC and Jon Jones revelry is one for the ages, I hope to see them at friends one day.
Much respect for DC to even have this conversation. True warrior and a source of some of the best fights I've watched. And to come out on the other end still jovial and humble.. Incredible character.
I know these two they work together. But if you're on this podcast, it's a different space. Love dc.
Would love to see dc and Jon Jones have a sit down and rewatch all of their stuff.
Um..that ain't happenin
Jon seems like a pretty despicable human being, so I'm not sure that would ever happen.
Jon would probably end up getting someone in trouble or hurt, simply because he can't help but mess up.
@@tommytong2280 it could 1000% happen. Dc is a super mature guy. Now that Jon is older and more mature, it could definitely happen.
@@craigmills6275 Jon is older, yes
Dc is a class act I use to hate the man cause I’m a bones 🦴 fan but seeing these two fight and now hearing DC talked so nice about him and gives him the respect he deserves what a time to be alive and see those two fight! DC your one of the all time greats my brother I take back every bad word I said nothing but respect to one of the goats 🐐 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
"When your fighting guys like Jones, he's so tall he's so rangy and he just understood...fighting, the guy just understands fighting and It makes him hard to deal with."
Truer words have never been spoken.
JJ is undeniable.
i just don’t see it…he needs the rules or he’s toast. I can’t watch him without seeing just UFC rule issues.
Jon is basically Einstein of MMA similar to DJ. He has 16 (17) title fight wins, which would be similar to having 40+ title defenses in boxing. Even Khabib is like Aristoteles and Socrates of MMA. These three know how to do some magic.
Jon Jones sucks. He isn’t that good.
@@alcottdevalte7440khabib has what 13 ufc fights ? Jon has 13 title defenses . Way different levels and Jon is at a level khabib did not reach sir
@@soulzy3596 Greatness shouldn't just be measured by title defenses. Khabib is the most dominant fighter in combat sports history. Didn't even bleed during 29 pro fights and 100+ amateur fights. Jon got a title shot the year Khabib entered the UFC. And unfortunately for Khabib, Conor took the belt as a hostage for 2 years along with Khabib being away for 2 years due to surgeries after the RDA fight who went on a 5 fight winning streak before becoming the champ after losing to Khabib.
Used to hate on DC as a fighter but we’re so lucky to have him as a commentator 🇨🇦
Two human kettlebells discussing MMA 😂
DC is a national treasure.. what a nice guy, I love to see more podcasts with Joe and him together.!
