Making closure/notion bags per project is something I love to do for garments i hand off to a stitcher or assistant!

      Designated bags are brilliant.

Before I start a project, I like to gather all my little notions and supplies and put them in a vintage Strawberry Shortcake tin picnic basket. My bobbins, I wind and stick in a small pink treasure chest. Little latch hinge and everything. Been thinking it needs strawberries painted on it. So it can go in the shortcake tin when done and be all matchy matchy.

I really love the coordinating here. And fully support the strawberry matchy matchy choices.

Gathering Notions and sketching makes me feel SO accomplished tbh! like the more I stop, slow down, and think through a project the less I feel rushed, even if I am rushing, and the fewer weird mistakes I make. A GAME Changer.

Love that! I feel like it also gets smoother and smoother the more you do the prep work for projects.

I prep things like pocket facings and folds that have to be ironed in when I'm ironing my interfacing in. I've already read my instructions so I know which pieces have pre-folded edges so I can iron those at the same time. It saves me from having to do and go back to the iron just to prep another piece.

Thank you for these! Ironing really is a necessary pain, but finding ways to reduce the back and forth is really helpful.

I keep all of my notions for the project I am currently making on a specific hook on my peg board.
I also wash any and all fabric that comes into my home before it gets put into the stash that way there is no waiting when it comes time to impulse make something from my stash.

Why haven’t I thought of pre winding bobbins?!? Gathering the notions is good too. I can assume that I do in fact have the buttons that will work. I unfortunately can’t assume that I can find them!! I really need a good way to sort and store buttons.

I use clear divided organizers for my buttons, beads and embroidery threads. I've actually seen a bunch at Ross recently too. I find them super helpful for those small things that manage to get lost a lot.

I string my matching buttons together if they aren't on a card. Then I sort like-colors in their own ziplocks. Then all my closures including buttons are in a gallon ziplock. It's not as pretty as more formal boxes and drawers, but I can see where things are, and it takes up less space.

@@ReinaElizondo Oh that's so clever! Most of my buttons are loose, but stringing them is a good idea.

@@ReinaElizondo that’s brilliant! I’m all about practical and organized.
