I feel this game is underrated and didn't get the recognition it deserved. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The sound, the gameplay, challenge were on point and for GBA game it had some nice little extras.
I’m starting to think that Nintendo is pretending Donkey Kong 94 on the gameboy doesn’t exist. Which is odd because that game is the best gameboy game ever.
Maybe because Miyamoto hasn't participated in so they don't care (same for Mario Land because Wario and Daisy are only in the spinoff game such as Mario Kart and Mario Party but never in the main serie)
This game is pretty challenging by Mario standards, especially the later levels. It doesn't look that hard, but anyone who's played it knows that it's not as easy as it looks.
Getting back to basics is sometimes the way to go. First time Mario burst onto the scene was in the arcade game "Donkey Kong". Only instead of the girl Mario's involved with being kidnapped, DK instead nabs the mini-Mario toys from Mario's Toy Factory all cause he was late to the party with the sales. In retrospect, putting the factory next to the stores you intend to distribute product to isn't a very wise idea.
Aye, that it isn't lad but we've gotta cut down on the time it takes to ship the new lot to stores and always be one step ahead of the demands for popular products, just like how Aladdin always stays one step ahead of the corrupt law enforcement in Agrabah
@@rhodesdrakethenieliii3209 At least put in a state-of-the-art security system so if someone who wants your latest product shows up late to the party, they can't pillage the factory.
I've had the memories of this game stored in the back of my head for 20 years and only now am I being reminded what game it was. I played the shit out of this game!
had this game when I were younger and I completely forgot about it until now. holy fuck the nostalgia and the struggle I had trying to complete these levels as my 4/6 year old self. wow how time flies...
From what I've played on Odyssey, it feels like a new experience. A blend of Mario 3D World and Mario 64. Mario Sunshine was very different from Galaxy. Galaxy was very different from 3D world. I think Nintendo puts out so few Mario games because they're constantly finding new ways to play the old formula.
Yep. But explain me why people complained about Sunshine when they tried a new way to play? I mean I wish they could bring back some sunshine elements in a future DLC (like the Delphino plaza and the Jet)
Tell me what they have done outside of the Platforming and RPG games with Mario lately? I'm not talking about already set series like Mario Kart and Smash Bros.
Omg I legit spent like a year wondering if this game was something I dreamt up, but it felt so real, so I looked at every Mario gba game and this is it, this games sound effects are crazy nostalgic because since I didn’t have a phone back in those days, I used to go into the sound settings and listen to all the sounds and songs on the sound test, can’t believe I found it lol, it wasn’t a dream
I really want to see a return to this style of puzzle platformer. Donkey Kong 94’ is one of my favorite games on GB, and I’m excited to try this one out.

I just bought this game on my Wii U a little before the e shop closed to relive my childhood now the remaster is coming out and have to get that as well.
Mario's animation in this game bears striking resemblance to the New Super Mario series, leading me to believe what could've come of an original main series Mario game rather than ports of classics.
Shout outs for including the e-Reader levels, most people don't know they exist. Edit: Anyone know what the cheat is to play these level? I can't find it anymore.
Juanitoes Sure did! There's no actual mention of it's functionality in-game, so it's kind of a secret. They gave away 1,000 of the first five level cards were as a promotional event in Japan, with the last seven essentially going unused. There's a time stamp in description for the e-Reader levels.
ikagura Sort of. e-Reader cards held encrypted data using "dot codes", which is a type of barcode. Not exactly the same thing as the NFC technology in amiibo, but same idea.
I only known difference from USA, Japan and Europe. That Japanese of this game has E-Reader that never existed in Europe and USA, Europe has selecting language that Japan and USA don’t (sometimes USA games has changing language not all the time), Japan, Australia (I think) and Europe version timer comes animated way with when you when you unlocked the door 🚪 and after that it animated adds it to more timer to save mini Mario , but USA never animated timer coming with you unlock the door, but it added your timer anyway due to being first released
This game just this game makes me cry 😭 I love the memories of this game in the front seat with my dad when he was a truck driver and he got me this game when it came out with the Gameboy advance sp and I had such a blast
The original did have voice actors, and they were very good for what they did. I hope they keep the "$40" line right at the beginning where one of the Toads slips in a price for the Mini-Marios before DK's robbery. Maybe we get some price inflation, to keep the relevance intact.
