      @@RKsKitchen Hi, I bought a similar stackable pot from one of the famous shops in Chennai but pot in pot never worked for me. Rice remains raw with the water still even after pressure cooking for 12 minutes and npr. I might think it as a problem with my instant pot irrespective of increased cooking time or increased water in the inner pot. Have you encountered this ever?

    • @RKsKitchen
      @RKsKitchen  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Hemalatha, No, I haven’t encountered such problem. Do your instant pot cook rice normally? This problem exists only while doing pot in pot?

      Try once in normal pressure cooker and see. If the pot in pot lid is too tight it may not work. Pots should have at least a hole in it.

  • @HungryFusion

    I tried pot in pot with pyrex bowls. Even after 17 mins of manual high pressure, my dal was half cooked! Is it because the stackable container holds lot of pressure?
    Thinking to buy one, but want to clarify if it is going to work for me. Please share your thoughts

    • @RKsKitchen
      @RKsKitchen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some people have problem with pot in pot. But it always works well for me. I only used Pyrex bowl to make tea once. Thing is we need to use a bowl with lid closed but it should not be very tight. It won’t cook well if the lid is so tight.

    • @RKsKitchen
      @RKsKitchen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello Divya, It depends on the instant pot size and size of the cooker plates you use. Probably you can cook 2 cups of rice and 2 cups of dhal at a time. Regarding time, it takes bit more time to cook than pressure cooker but it's safe to use than traditional pressure cooker and no need to babysit.

      I am not sure. But I think it won’t work like that. Or probably you can keep it for a minute. You may try with sauté mode and keep in the lowest setting. But paneer could get burnt. Sorry, I haven’t tried this way.

      It depends on the quality of dhal or water also. Hard water makes it cook longer dear. It cooks well for me. I make like this for more than 3yrs and never failed. Can you tell me how much you cook only dhal in IP? And only rice in IP? I usually cook 8mins if done separately. May be try increasing the time to 15mins. And make sure the pressure is high if you have that option in your IP.
