I know this video is old and I'm just now seeing this so you might have completed your task by now. However, I just LOVE the way your book looks - all of the hand written energy on each page...the look of it - and how it just pleases the senses! I would definitely keep it as-is. It's amazing.
Trish. I'm so sorry I didn't get notified of your comment! Thank you for visiting me and your kind words. Your right, it is old! I love connecting with people through it though. Again sorry I didn't get to see your comment till now
@@BroomClosetArtistry noooooo girl you should do it … art is art …. I love tattoos and i love your rings ….i have been wanting go do the rings but i keep putting it off ….any meaning for you ?
Wow! Just found your channel, this is the 1st video I've watched. Your book is a true work of art. Thank you for sharing, you have inspired me 100%. BB. XXX
The background music though :} I made a copy of the actual book in Practical Magic. There are no tutorials so the book I made was a prototype. It turned out near perfect. I just want to do it bigger but I'm not 100% on the size of the actual book. If I recall that book is also bound with pegs instead of sewn... Yours is gorgeous btw
I'm so glad you posted a video of you using the adhesive strips! I was debating getting some for my own book, but I was skeptical that they would work and I didn't want to buy them for no reason.
This is such a beautiful bos. I’m also inspired by the scrapbook style of practical magics book, I can’t wait to start my official bos but for now I’m just righting everything I learn in a “rushed” draft version of it so I can figure out what I want to include
This is great! I've looked for a simple photoshop tutorial I can use for my book - but they're all really complicated. I don't know if you do tutorials or demos but if you do a "magickal photoshop" one would be AWESOME.
Beautiful book Seka!!! You are so inspiring and definitely make me want to continue my BOS!! I can't wait to get back to my TH-cam channel next month 😊👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Your BOS is awesome! I am making yet another book, a postbound book. I've decided to make a list of illistrations that I would like to inlcude in my book, I'll make them on thicker paper... I also have a pack of scrapbook paper...im honestly not too sure how I would like to include it in my book. I wish there were more BOS sneak peaks like yours. I feel like artists have a harder time with putting their books together because...in a way we are perfectionists, to our own taste... if that makes sense lol. Ive seen beautiful blank journals at great prices but, again, I really need a post bound BOS. Right now I'm inspired by Alice in wonderland, the nightmare before Xmas, beetlejuice, a series of unfortunate events. Thanks for sharing!
Agreed we tend to be perfectionist when our creations are involved. Especially when there gifts. I am also going to make a post bound bos. This will give me 3 styles and I can see which style I like the best.
Love the way you did these pages and the hole adding pieces. So awesome. Everything looks really nice. You're a lot more focused on how it looks than I am. I've mostly got words scribbled all over the place. But then, it's just my preliminary info gathering stage. I'll make nice looking pages later. Currently I'm putting gesso in a book and pulling magical info out of old journals. ;p Thanks for sharing! Really love the way it looks! You're definitely getting to that practical magic feel.
Broom Closet Artistry yes! At first I felt how chalky the pages were and I was kind of ick. But I've added watercolour and I know I can add stuff to it of different textures, so long as it doesn't kill the binding. It's a book of poetry I bought cheap, so you can still see the little children's poems through the gesso. I like how that adds to it and also informs what I put on each page. Also! Thought, you could try putting some kind of acrylic paint on the plastic hole things maybe in a brown colour, and it would look like leather.
Absolutely in love with it and definitely has the Seka Practical Magic touch to it :) Very inspiring sis and can't wait to see more😻 PS: you said BOS at least 16 times 🌠
Seka InTheBroomCloset, Born and raised in northern Illinois, and been in Alabama for the rest of it, so my husband calls me his Southern Yankee. 😊 Thank you!!
I really like the vellum page you used at the very front. And thanks so much for including the link to the adhesive strips. I’ve been trying to find some of those but the only ones I’ve found came in boxes of 20 for something like $15 and considering I would need many boxes the cost would be outrageous.
PrettyAliceMoon awe yeah!!! I wish i could find different patters and weights for that vellum ! Im glad you can use the link. It took a little searching thats for sure.
I made my own with double sided tape. The very sticky scrapbooking tape. I cut down the plastic page protectors leaving an inch or so to tape and it works about the same, and the protectors are a lot cheaper.
Very very beautiful book! I'm doing something very similar. If you don't like seeing the plastic, you can use washi tape over it and punch new holes into it....On the same place of course. Since I understand the language on the front, I wonder where you are from. I'm from Bosnia.
Hi welcome! Yes hopefully when I fully tie the binding you won’t see the plastic at all- that’s a great idea with the washy tape. my father came from Yugoslavia in the 60s but we identify as Croatian. So nice to meet you!
When you know you're not going to add more pages or when you create the hard cover, zip ties on the holes work really well. Isis Chandler from Pagan Scrapbook Supplies has a nice system and she even sells adjustable books. Might want to check her out.
Love what you did to your book of shadows keep up with the good work looking forward to seeing the next video love watching your channel to let you I did my own video my own way of my practical magic book of shadows check it out blessed be
I don’t want to be rude but first thing that came to my mind “Seka? You mean Svetlana?” I couldn’t help it 😄 Are you originally from former lands of Yugoslavia? Many blessings!

Sweet. I like page protectors because they can be changed around, they protect the entire page and they are fast to use.
Absolutely stunning! So many great ideas. Blessed be!
Save money, frequent thrift store! There a gold mine for crafters and sometimes you can find witchy items too!!!
I love your book! It’s so creative, I too am an artist and I am working on adding my at to my book and some stuff from my printer.

Question for you: what paper and materials did you use for the little pressing book in the back of your BOS? That's an awesome idea.

Well done. Thx.

Interesting but not surprising. Paganism has quite the following. Hope you find some inspiration in what your searching for.
