As a veteran, nothing moves my heart more than seeing our future heroes taking the step to start their career in the defense of our great country. I am so proud of Carson. And of both of you for a job well done as parents.
It’s not my intention to convince or judge anyone’s position or conviction. I apologize to the channel that my expression with good intentions resulted in negative responses. My intention was not to start a conversation about the rights and wrongs of our great military but just to acknowledge my pride in those who choose to serve especially in today’s all volunteer military. Some of us did not choose to serve however most served with honor and integrity whether they volunteered or were drafted. As a combat veteran, I agree that combat is not cool. In fact those who were involved in combat were likely changed forever. Now we struggle to survive as our personal combat continues.
@Ronnie Mallonee....Thank you for your service and sacrifice, thank you for my freedom, thank you for protecting our country and thank you for encouraging and supporting our future military !!! I am a grateful proud American !🇺🇸
The best we can do for our kids is roots and wings. Roots so they know where they are from and wings to fly and succeed. I admits I am typing this through my tears.
Good on Carson! A military mindset will always stay with him, and anchor his life in the tough spots. Fine young man with a great support from his loved ones. He's off to a great start. Bless you all!
I feel like we’ve been watching your kids grow up. So proud of Carson. He is going to KILL IT!! You are raising an amazing family. Thanks for letting us tag along. 💕💕
A big commitment for a young man. Wishing the best for Carson. God bless you and thank you for your commitment of service to our great America. Keep the rubber on the road.
As a 20-year Air Force Veteran, it's absolutely amazing seeing your support for Carson as he reaches for his future. His attitude will take him to great heights and your example and encouragement gives him a solid foundation to build upon. His future is bright and what he has learned over the past several years will serve him well.
My nephew graduated from the Airforce Academy in May and we were there (traveled there in our RV😁👍) My 9 year old son was in awe 🇺🇲 and now wants to go there. ❤ Proud of your son!! Good job mom and dad!!
What Tester said. So proud of Carson for making the difficult choices and blazing his own trail. Hey Mom. He will be just fine. So proud of you guys as a family for having those kinds of discussions and making the choices. So many times, we just see inaction that leads nowhere. Great stuff.
crying. You have great kids. Well done, Mom and Dad! My son went into the Marine Corp after HS and now is a K9 officer with our local PD. So proud of the young men and women who choose a life of service. Bless your family as you enter another season.
Both of my children did crew while in high school at Gainesville Area Rowing in Florida. It kept them busy, gave them discipline and kept them in shape. They loved it.
As a 21 year Air Force Veteran super stoked to see Carson pursue his goals with such resolve and determination. I share your pride in his noteworthy decisions. As the owner of 3 decades of Pembroke Welsh Corgis you can imagine my delight in seeing the Corgi pup at Charlie’s birth home. As usual your video has put the cap on my weekend with a smile.
Wow so emotional made me cry as Mom. I haven’t experienced my son going away he is 24 and still lives with us and I am okay with it. I love your channel love following along. Congratulations to Carson and best of luck at school and his future.
Wow, I can't believe how much your kiddo's have grown. Glad Carson found his thing in life and I know he will go far. All your kids will as they have great examples in their parents. I'm not going to wish him good luck as he doesn't need it, but I will wish him a fabulous year! Carson, you looked so handsome in your uniform! Always bitter sweet for mom but I know y'all are so proud. Loved seeing Charlie with his family, how sweet was that?! Love watching you guys and your adventures. Amazing! Hugs, Brenda
I went to the Culver Summer camp when I was ages 8-10. It was and is still such an awesome place. You feel like a family there. All of my family (aunts, uncles, cousins, parents, and siblings) have all gone there and we all feel so connected there. I got the same reactions when I would tell my friends about a 6 week military camp. It sounds quit aggressive, but I wouldn't of changed it for the world. I met so many good people there, the counselors are amazing! I am still constantly in touch with my favorite counselor there. It is for real the best place ever. Culver, Indiana is a great place and that's so amazing for Carson.
2 things in the greater Chicago area that High Schooler's love sports wise, LaCrosse and Rowing. Every school we ever saw had them. I was born and raised in Chicago and spent 47 of my 57 years there and I never once was on the Skyway. I was a Tollway monster, yes the mad race, Ipass and all still use it because we travel back to see our Son and wife all the time. Saves money and time for sure. Much easier to whip through an ipass lane at 75 than wait in line. They do have Cameras on each Clerk also. Seeing you guys go through these life changes brings back so many memories. Each of our kids off to College now all in their mid 30's and our Daughters have 5 great kids between them, that's fun! Our Son didn't want Children and they do so well and are so happy, you have so much more great exciting things a head. Good Luck to Carson and to you guys. We've found that Western Iowa isn't so bad at all, no place like home for sure but it's also where you find Peace and Happiness.
Love your channel! My son is an Air Force Officer and learning to fly the KC-135. I was so proud to be able to pin his wings on him when he completed his undergraduate pilot training. Carson will have a great career ahead of him with the military! Great job parenting!
I feel like we have all gotten to watch carson grow and become a young man. As a veteran i am ecstatic that he has chosen the path he has to better himself, his family and his country. You two should be extremly proud of him. Thanks for sharing your family with us.
Congratulations to Carson and his awesome endeavor! I personally know 2 people that has attended Culver academy and they are true leaders. Best of luck young man.
Your collage of Carson had me balling my eyes out. So proud to see him follow his dreams. So glad to see him have a military background so early in his life. Good job, parents.
Loved the eye contact Carson had as he saluted each person during the opening ceremony. Such a great young man. I don’t know how you held it together momma 😭. And look how little he was when you started this journey, seems like yesterday.
My son just got a degree in geology and now I'm pushing him to finish up his pilots training. He had put it on hold while he pursued his degree. I noticed your son wearing Civil Air Patrol tabs in the older video. I did that myself back in the early 70s. It shaped me for my military hitch. All good stuff. Keep going you have a terrific family!
Congratulations and good luck Carson. Great video on toll road, new refrigerator and 42 year Excella with original still working refrigerator. Thank you for sharing your wonderful adventures.
Omg Trish i just finished watching it and yes the tears are flowing I don't know how you held it together. Carson I remember most of those days. Good luck stay safe and be good. God bless you all Nancy ps how cute is Charlie! Your gonna need him when Caleb leaves!!!
Carson grew up quickly. That clip from 2016 only 3 yrs ago, looked so young. Career Army Officer here - visited AF Acad (RVing) two summers ago and left highly impressed with what I saw. What a great path to take, in my opinion.
Good luck Carson! Learn as much as you can, life is all about learning, all you need to remember is to do your parents proud, if your parents are proud you've succeeded!
Great video. Come from a long line of Veterans. My brother has served more than 20 years in the Air Force. It has done great things for him and his family.
Wow! Carson! You have so many people rooting for you! No pressure, truly; just pure love and admiration for you, young man!! My favorite Carson highlight is the warning sign. HA!! Good luck Carson.
Wonderful video! Great to see Charlie's original family while your family made a major change; the beginning of the empty nest. Just remember they are always around. Agree that the military school is great for his development toward one of the Academies. May God continue to bless and keep you all! Oh, and the hats look great.
My wife fell in love with the beanie, so I just ordered it for her. She doesn’t know it yet. And thank you to Carson for wanting to serve The greatest country in the world! My step daughter and son-in-law are both army. My brother retired from the Air Force. And I have many family members from the past who have served. We thank you all.
Teared up like the mama I am. Our babies grow up so doggone fast...the montage of Carson from the beginning to now was like reaching time warp factor 10. May his infinity take him safely to the height of his dreams.
You GO Carson! It seems like yesterday when you pulled out of your driveway to start your new life style. Can't believe it's been 4 years. We so enjoy watching tour adventures. When I saw you driving on I-294, I thought WOW your so close to where we live. Your family is amazing. Wishing all of you the best, TAKE CARE AND BE SAFE! (I ordered my hat)
I've watch most of your episodes. I usually quietly watch in background, without commenting. I just purchased one of your kyd hats to support your energy you put into your channel. It's just simply amazing. Your have the success formula for happy living down. Your genuine /real approach is profoundly refreshing.
Proud Parent moment for sure. And the joy of that new refrigerator made me laugh. I have loved watching your boys grow. Our boys are just younger 4, 4 and 6. We can't keep up with them when we go camping, they absolutely love the adventure.
Good for Carson...how exciting and what a great opportunity. Congrats to him! Kind of got ME teary, watching the earlier videos of him, most of which I've seen as a KYD follower. Your babies are growing up!
Trish cried the first dozen times we were editing :) The difference between 12 and 15 is pretty remarkable. In just another 3 years they'll all be adults. Crazy.
Beautiful. With our channel growing and a son who just turned 13 this summer, this makes me want to document every second with him so we can look back as you did and enjoy the memories of beautiful times. Thanks so much for sharing! - MJ
Awesome that Carson wants to become a Zoomie. Just attended my 40 year reunion and AFA. It's amazing to be able to go back and say this was my school. USAFA Class of 79
We are looking forward to longer travels in our rig and not just the 2 week vacations, but our time is coming and we will be ready. Thank you for sharing your family with us! God Bless you and keep you safe in your travels!
Fantastic video. I cried when you said goodbye to Carson. I wish him well and much success. Charlie’s parents Awesome. Wonderful memories in this video also. Prayers for safe travels
I going to miss Captain Carson and his quips and antics. That young man has a razor sharp sense of humor. Good luck Carson even though I know you don't need luck
My wife is crying at Carson being dropped off at school. Our kids are in their late 20's & early 30's so we've been through this. But she's crying watching your family go through this! It's like I've 2 shows this week to watch! Great episode!
Dogs do that with tissues and paper towels because they hold the scent of you guys so well and they scatter them around to make them feel secure and have less separation anxiety. I have had dogs as pets and taken them through training and two service dogs that I got to have a hand in training too so I've learned a lot. Great episode. Congratulations Carson. So proud of ya
That is so cool that Carson is interested in that way of life for his future. I so wanted to go to a school like that, but it didn’t happen. I ended up with 31 years in the U.S. Army, Army National Guard and Army Reserve regardless. Both you two and Carson will be so glad that he went that route and in time it will prove to be the best for the long term. Most individuals who attend those kind of schools have a MUCH better outlook on life and they tend to appreciate where they’ve been and what they have earned than many who just wanted to get buy in school so they could do nothing worthwhile. Wishing you all the best of luck and maybe we’ll see you on the road when we start our own RVing lifestyle next spring.
Hi, Kim here. I haven't even watched the whole video yet but wanted to say how happy I am that you are donating a portion of your hat sales to Toys for Tots. It's a charity that is close to my heart too so I didn't want to forget to give you kudos for doing so!
SUPER episode! What a fine time seeing Carson step up to his future and take control of his future. You should be, and can't believe you wouldn't be, PROUD!
Just ordered hats & beanies for my husband & myself!! So excited! We love y'all & watch every video. Youre wonderful people & you have inspired us to keep our own datdrram, go for it & purchase our own rig! Thank you for bringing us along on your journey....can't wait to see where you go next!
This has been one of my favorite seasons so far. I just had my first child... or the wife did... (7 weeks tomorrow) and episodes like this on your channel have shown me the importance of creating moments. I love yalls way of empowering your kids. Excited to get to make memories and have moments with my son. Thanks! Also, just ordered my hat!!! I don't have the funds to be a KYD insider, so I am happy to finally get to support the channel in some way!
I've been binging your guys' videos for the last couple weeks and have 3 young boys of my own - 5, 3, and 2. This one got me really choked up, and you guys have inspired us to start documenting our family life and trips - thanks so much. Can't wait to keep watching.
I am a brand new rv owner with my partner, we are part time and we watch every sunday. I myself follow you and I enjoy watching every sunday. We are looking forward to great adventures with our dogs, Charlie is a gorgeous dog and I am very happy that you finally have a fridge that is working.
Well, I cried through the past videos of Carson and his send off, and i've never met him! You are such good parents, and as a Momma to a 11/2 year old, I can only hope I can let go and let her be who she wants and support her to the extent you support all of your children!
Ok, my son joined the Marine Corps. It’s a completely different life to see your child change and grow.. pride is one thing but to see them transform into the person God desires them to be.. is something as a mom (I can’t speak for my husband who is still active duty how he felt) I was holding on to the little boy he once was... loving your family through this change.. you will do great things!
We raise our children to be productive and kind adults. Y’all have done a wonderful job. To all those critics that say the RV lifestyle isn’t well suited for raising a family. You guys have definitely proven them wrong!
Very cool episode. Carson looked fantastic all dressed up. He will do great because he has been given an amazing foundation by mom and dad. He has come a long way and will go a long way. Charlie looks just like his dad. So sweet. Stay safe out there guys. Cheers!!!
I'm 57 years old, and I remember my parents dropping me off my freshman year at Military School in 78 when I was 12 years old... A bit different, but kind of the same. I can relate.. I noticed the desk and book shelf in his room was (I think) made at This End Up furniture company.. I worked there for 9 years here in Raleigh, NC... Good stuff for schools like that.. I got a little misty watching this.. You guys are awesome.. I just bought a new F450, and am looking at getting that same Momentum 399 TH... Need to get my travel on. 😄😎👍 Love you guys..
I've wanted a hat since I started watching. On order! Best of luck Carson. We live close to Virginia Military Institute and the interaction with the students is nothing short of amazing. Carson is going to crush it and he'll have an experience that will be unforgettable.
I absolutely love your family and teared up as Carson went off to military school. I am so proud of him and excited for his journey! I recently purchased a 2001 Thor Wanderer and just getting Julia, my trailer’s name, road ready. We are personalizing her, putting our signature touches to make her feel like home. I am so glad that I discovered your channel and subscribed because you guys have helped me feel more confident about the RV life, even though we won’t be full timers, we will be hitting the road quite often. Tell Mr. Caleb, that he is a character and is absolutely hilarious. Thank you for making us feel apart and taking us into your home and allowing us to tag along on your journey. God bless and safe travels. Maybe one day our rigs will meet on the road!
Keep Your Daydream thank you for the well wishes on the beginning of our journey in RVing. Your family’s journey has been so enlightening, enjoying and energizing to us to hit the open road! I am getting a hat, I’m taking notes from your video, especially with backing into spots. I come from a family that always RV’d. I sold my old ‘86 Coachmen Catalina 15 years ago to take care of my ailing momma and grandma. Mom’s doing better and I wanna take her to see the country and enjoy life. From the Romans family in California, safe travels y’all!!!
I mentioned a few years ago in one of my comments that Carson should try rowing (been a rowing coach for 34 years) and there Carson is rowing! Looks good. Got the levers! Maybe we should get Culver up here to Canada to our home regatta!
Too funny. It all worked out. He has rowed with Varsity already in one regatta in Indy. He's working hard to make the Varsity boat by next year. And now the official KDY Beanie (or tuque as you say) is officially available. You have the only unofficial one from years ago.
Wow I remember those videos when Carson was 12! I didn't realize how different he looked though til those flashbacks. Made me smile when you mentioned Maddie too. Glad that I'd started following you guys when she was still with you.
Love your channel and you are a wonderful family. Your travels will memories for ever for this two fine young men you are raising. I was Blessed To spend two summers of my youth driving my grandparents around with their airstream camper. Wonderful experience and saw so much of US and Canada. Memories I share with my son often. Carson have fun at Culver!
So impressive that Carson has chosen this path of discipline and commitment and so impressive that you are making sure he has every opportunity to succeed in his dreams. You are such a cool family and I'm sure Carson will do great!
Oh guys I loved loved loved this video...you sold me at new fridge...🤣but then you did the Carson slot ...it brought tears to my eyes every time Trish got emotional...and to see that Carson has grown into a man...pursuing his dream you oozed ‘proud parents’ and rightly so! You could of done a whole video on his next chapter on this journey he is traveling and I would of been as happy. May your next chapter continue to give the joy you deserve. 🙋🏻🇬🇧💝
Carson made a great choice for a school. Love this adventure video. Happy for Charlie that he got to visit with his family. Thanks for sharing KYD adventure Mark & Trish.
As a veteran, nothing moves my heart more than seeing our future heroes taking the step to start their career in the defense of our great country. I am so proud of Carson. And of both of you for a job well done as parents.
@@sarahann530 Have you served your country? I am guessing by your crappy comment you haven't.
Ronnie Mallonee thank you for your service Ronnie.
B Temple unfortunately you can’t do much with folks like that. Just know there are still decent people in the world.

How blessed that Carson is taking those steps into his KYD
What a great way of putting it :)
You are great parents and great examples. Creating a great example for this community, but more importantly, your children. Keep living the daydream!

Yes, make it happen! These episodes will be cherished by us years down the road. Plus, I threaten the boys with "wedding footage" all the time ;)
Keep Your Daydream love it!! Thank you and look forward to seeing more of your episodes. 💕 - MJ
Also Congratulations Carson. Very honorable...... good luck and God speed sir.....
You really have been here all along! Thanks for being part of the community :)
You must be so proud of Carson! His focus and seriousness is impressive and should give him a great foundation.
Thanks Diane!
Just a few comments. Great Kids. Great family. Carson looks great in uniform. I know you are very proud as I would be. Thanks for the great video.
The Carson reel! Love it!!!
I'm gonna cry with Caleb's reel!!!
Thanks :) We talked to the contact at Luke AFB today and hoping to visit to give them donation personally.
Beautiful parents, beautiful children, wonderful life!
Very emotional episode! All the best for Carson. YOU guys are AMAZING PARENTS! Many Blessings.
The days are long, but the years are short. I can tell you'll do great with your kiddo already!
Joe Newton congrats
@@adventuresofjandk Thanks so much!
I've been binging your guys' videos for the last couple weeks and have 3 young boys of my own - 5, 3, and 2. This one got me really choked up, and you guys have inspired us to start documenting our family life and trips - thanks so much. Can't wait to keep watching.
WOW! Carson from Boy to Man in a flash!
Best of luck Carson, we know you’re going to do it! GOD Bless You! 🙏❤️🙏
Wish the best for Carson! Thanks for following a path to serve our country. @23:39 I need a picture of this...
😢 Congratulations to his new journey and both of you as parents. Than you for sharing. Safe travels 🙏
You are raising an amazing family. Thanks for letting us tag along.
Congrats on the new rig! Enjoy and take your time. We're glad you're here too!
What an amazing episode! Carson is only ten minutes from me he will do amazing and have an amazing time at Culver!
I cried with you!! My son is 15 and just thinking about how little time I have left with him before he 18 brings the misters on.
And the real journey for Carson begin`s. And i got me a new hat coming! SEE YA OUT THERE!!!!
Congratulations to your son for his choice of career. I hope he succeeds and not regrets his choice. Best of luck.
Love your channel and you are a wonderful family. Your travels will memories for ever for this two fine young men you are raising. I was
Blessed
To spend two summers of my youth driving my grandparents around with their airstream camper.
Thanks Stacey. We couldn't be happier that he's excelling at the school too!
Ah, so hard when they leave the nest. What a great son you have raised. Congratulations Carson!
Way to go Carson! So heartfelt . Thanks for sharing. Sending blessings!
Wonderful video! Best wishes to Carson during his school and training. It was so cute to see Charlie meeting back up with his parents!
Carson made a great choice for a school. Love this adventure video. Happy for Charlie that he got to visit with his family. Thanks for sharing KYD adventure Mark & Trish.
