Get more gouramis... they really are very aggressive but a bigger group helps ... also dwarfs have a tendency to get some gourami wasting disease?! Have you heard of this Maybe chunks tetras,will be good with the acara pair
A suggestion MD, have u considered just filming a 10min video of a particular tank and uploading? That way u won't have to create new tanks every time and some of us who love some particular aquascapes or fish would be able to watch them for a while?

Kate definitely knows these fish! She talks like their her babies. Knows their personalities. You can tell she's spent alot of time caring for them amd has done some research on breading cichlids. ❤

Chunks is one handsome hefty stud. And it is great how much Kate adores him like a protective mum and he so responds to her presence. It is amazing how fish relate to certain people. And it seems they sense it when someone favors them thus they respond to that person even more as well.
It seems like Kate has learned a lot from the MD Fish School 😂 haha i love watching you guys and the different aspects you both bring ❤️ we also get to learn new things along with Kate from MD.
That 8ft tank looks amazing and Chunks will hopefully fit in nicely. I doubt the Angels will bother him. Your Pearl Gouramis look striking. Their colours really pop.
Chunks looks great! The EBA babies are adorable ❤️ My EBA started out that small. He’s about 5 inches now. He was dark colored and clamping his fins every once and awhile and we realized he got constipated from too much dry food. We feed him some blood worms and brine shrimp every day now along with a quality flake food and he is as blue and iridescent as a peacock, every scale is bright blue with a bright orange Mohawk ,no more clamping. He acts a lot like Chunks, sees me from across the room and waggles, even interacts with our dogs! When they put their nose on the glass he swims up to visit. Definitely a wet pet.

My dwarf gourami (blue & orange) was pretty feisty and ended up doing the same thing as yours did before it died. Apparently "Dwarf Gourami Disease" is pretty common and happens from overbreeding. Thankfully it doesnt affect other fish in a community aquarium.
In my experience with Mbuna if they have the babies in their mouth she wont eat or until they are big enough to leave her mouth to get food on their own. If they aren't in her mouth they are under anything they can hide or the other Mbuna had a few snacks.
19 days. That yellow lab will hold those fry in her mouth for at least 19 days. They're fully developed by 19 days. She will spit few days later and will still care and have them go back in her mouth for a week or two before she lets them go forever and fend for themsevles.
Loved when you moved him. I love Kate, she was vocalizing my worries at the same time lol. I will say after watching your videos and seeing you try to get rid of all the duckweed, it hurt my soul to see you stick those nets into the duckweed to get Chunks then stick them right into the 8ft. Will you get duckweed in there now with that contamination? Or do you need the actual plant to end up in the tank for it to grow?
If you want to breed electric blue acara, you should check out Australian fish keeper, Arians Fishroom, (who by the way often sports an MD electric blue acara T-shirt). He has given you a shout out on his channel.

Dwarf gourami disease... I had 2 powder blue dwarf gourami, and same exact thing happened. It's not contagious to your other fish, only them.
