Cannot fault your advice. Avantgarde are fine. I was going to use them but my account is in another bank, so I went to sberbank head office in moscow to change them because dealing only with 1 bank was preferable. And if Sberbank (the national savings bank) goes belly up then Russia will not be there. Be sure to put your funds on term deposit, link to your Russian SIM and install their banking app on your phone. Dual SIM phones are a must.
G'day mate, Aussie here..Will be travelling to Russia end of december. Flying from Thessaloniki-Greece to Turkey then on to St. Petersburg. Ive watched numerous videos on currency exchange in Russia, and am worried about the hassle of having bank notes that have to be in "good clean condition", was planning on taking Euro's but someone suggested taking Chinese Yuan, as the Russians and Chinese only do business now using their own currencies, supposedly the Yuan would be exchanged in any acceptable condition, would you have any thoughts on this? Cheers.
@@nickvangopoulosphotography6921 I will ask in the bank when I go on Thursday. I will post a new video about currency to show everyone the condition of my bank notes. I will ask about the Yuan and what condition they accept. I will post another reply here on Thursday
@nickvangopoulosphotography6921 So I have just been in the bank. Unfortunately, it does not matter what currency you use. It all has to be in great condition. What I do is I go to my local bank in England and withdraw the largest note because this will most likely be in great condition. Any money that is not in great condition. You can exchange for a mix of euros and dollars. I just exchanged 100 euros, no problem
@@BritishChef436 Thanks very much , .....very much appreciated.. I think i might bring a mixture of Wuan and Euro's just to be safe, and will specify from my currency exchange outlet here at home get good clean notes . Many Thanks.....Spasiba:)
Good to know, thanks.
👍
Pretty smart. Thank you for the information. Great advice.

Max is £10k. If you have more than that, it’s fine, you just need to declare it and all they do then is count it.
EUR10,000 not GBP10,000
British pounds are accepted. I changed mine without problem but they are not exchanged all over like EUR/USD.
