I wish I found this the first time I did this. Wetting the wall and the consistency is so key. Mine was so much thicker and it made it so difficult.

Awesome video for someone who hasn’t worked with waterproof membranes.
Another tip if you are new to this, use a plastic spatula instead of a metal one. You can dig the corner in the membrane and puncture it. If you can’t find or get a plastic one and already have a metal one, you lightly file the corners so it won’t puncture.
Love your channel and keep it bud 🤙🏽

Nice, neat, and clean. Great work! A question though, I apply kerdi membrane horizontally doing so I only have to install two rows, have you ever done it that way or considered it, I find it is simpler and easier?

Great video, thank you. Looking forward to the miter/epoxy video as I'm doing my bathroom right now. Can I use Laticrete Spectralock Pro Premium epoxy grout instead of knife grade epoxy on the miters? I have a very close color match with their fossil color. Thanks!

I use the WEDI system, it's so much faster to install.

@@Emperio-zc5zrNo, they are completely different. The WEDI system uses extruded polystyrene (XPS) foam which is 100% waterproof. It skips many steps compared to GURU waterproofing.

Finaly a long format from you Winni. Also a good one. Quite oriented towards someone who does not work with membrane on a daily basis. I am curious for that miter tile and epoxy video and also you are pretty young and I wonder when/where did you manage to gather all of this experience? It is obvious that you are not self-though but rather there must be some pro-type of apprenticeship behind here. 👀

More long videos are coming:) I’ve been working since I was 14. But all this stuff I learned on my own. Watching a lot of people online and just copying their work:)

I just did my first Kerdi membrane, I’m terrified that the tile will fall off the wall. This video is about a week late.

Mate, I used to love your stuff, but this nonsense of using drywall for showers when there are much better systems out there really makes you drop in my estimation. Your tiling videos were epic, but now you are doing yourself a disservice.

I couldn't agree more..... I used to like him but he's not honest and only doing this for money which is against everything the TH-cam community is about. Really lost respect for this guy. It's a shame because I used to like his content. Now it's like I'm watching a commercial for Guru.
