Was looking for some efficient techniques to paint my upcoming underworlds skaven warband. Awesome tutorial! No unnecessary bla, just useful info and tips! thanks! liked + subscribed :)
It would be useful to get a list of the paints used in the description. I know they're onscreen while you're painting, but it just makes it easier to review them once you've watched the vid in full. Great video though, really handy guide 8)
Thanks for the video its extremely helpful. I was just wondering what you did for the eyes as it seems like they were painted during a camera cut. Was it just flesh tearers red in there with no pupil?
Hello there! First of all, it's a very nice video:) I have one question though; did you spray the figure before painting, and if so what color did you use?
Dude, I've been so scared to get back into model painting (did it for GW LotR miniatures in my teens), but this technique is AMAZING. I feel like it would be so easy now. Thanks so much! Do you have any more Contrast tutorials planned (LotR, AoS)? My GF got me Lady Olynder for Christmas last year, and I'm terrified I'm gonna ruin the model! :D
Ahh thank you!! There's a fair few on the channel for those systems but yep if you check the community tab you'll see the next will be some Daughters of Khain! 😊 Some LOTR on the way too, including the Three Hunters and Eowyn.
@@tabletopandgaming I've been binging all your contrast paint videos this past weekend 🤣 Even told my girlfriend how revolutionary this all was to me. Cannot wait for the Three Hunters video (and the others too) I'm getting so many tips and techniques from them. Thanks again buddy.
Hi there! I actually have some ad mech too so will likely put a tutorial soon, I'd say Basilicanum grey for the metals and Flesh Tearer red for the robes! :)
Paints used:
[Contrast]
Gulliman Flesh
Gore Grunta Fur
Volupus Pink
Skeleton Horde
Flesh Tearers Red
Wyldwood
Black Templar
Aggaros Dunes
Basilicanum Grey
Plaguebearer Flesh
[Drybrushing]
Leadbelcher
Gorthor Brown
Ushabti Bone
Dawnstone
Evil Sunz Scarlet
What kind of white primer did you use?
Dayum...that's some ballsy, accurate dry brushing
Go BIG or go...cry when you accidentally brush the red on the flesh...
Holy moly a video where I already own all of the paints.
Christ i would be happy to have that on display, that looks fantastic

This, though I guess it's a painters way of making sure you watch the video rather than just using it as a paints list.
Great suggestion! I'll get on it! 😊
Also a fan of that red. It's fantastic. I wonder why so many rave about the Bloodangel red. This is much richer effective.
This is awesome. Its looking so easy with really great looking. I wish I would had that for my warhammer fantasy chaos army that time.
Thank you!
Looking brilliant. Putting those colors on my to buy list instantly !
Awesome video and paint job. I'm definitely following this scheme
Great video
Fantastic tutorial! Contrast paints work so great for Skaven! Subscribed :)
that came out so well for what time you put into it! Gotta clean up the moldline on te base thoo
Awesome work!
What set of miniatures is it? Cannot find this cool raging Skaven.
Thanks! He's from Spiteclaws Swarm for warhammer underworlds
@@tabletopandgaming many thanks!

Hi, yes this is correct
I DIDN'T KNOW THAT CONTRAST PAINT WERE THAT GOOD, WOW
Good shit man
Keep up the good work! Maybe you can do all the warbands from warcry?
Aha if only I had the cash!! :D
Hello there!
First of all, it's a very nice video:)
I have one question though; did you spray the figure before painting, and if so what color did you use?
Hi there, yes this one is using the wraithbone contrast undercoat spray.

This is lovely to hear!! They've really transformed my confidence with painting so hopefully you get some good use out of the techniques too! :)
Does somebody know that what kind of white primer this is exactly? Corax white?
It's Wraithbone, the lights make it look white.
@@tabletopandgaming Thank you !
maybe warband from tzeentch next ?
Very good video any suggestions on using contrast paint for Ad Mech? I just started collecting and loving assembly and panting,

@@tabletopandgaming Nice! Thank you for the advice. ;-D
I noted what looks like skin highlights that you did, but I didn’t see that in the video. What did you highlight with?
No highlights for the skin, just the guilliman flesh shown mate.
Hi there, one question. What if i only used ushabti bone or screaming skull for drybrushing an all the miniature instead of different colors?
Hi there, you definitely could, though I might recommend at least doing the red drybrush if you can and go very light on the metal areas.
@@tabletopandgaming Got it, so around 3 different drybrushes would be ideal in most minis?
That's probably a good idea!
@@tabletopandgaming To drybrush over black templar should greys be used or ushabti bone?
@@joseramoncoresmonforte7171 Dawnstone is a good choice as a highlight, unless you want it to look metallic then leadbelcher is good!
one question , base coat in white? thanks
You certainly could, I use wraithbone here.
paint the "big rats"!
Not a fan of the greys for stonework. It's just not a convincing effect at all. it's especially blotchy.
