    Dude’s record was like 272-120 in five years, brought them one NBA title in 2021 and had the best record in the league this year. Throw in that his brother just passed away during their first round series, he never missed a game and Giannis was hurt. I can’t wait for him to get picked up and come back and bury the Bucks.

    I think the Bucks were already looking into possible replacements if Bud failed to take them to the ECF. The first round loss just made that decision easier for the front office. My guess is management was intrigued about Nick Nurse since his firing in Toronto and them losing to the Heat gave them the green light.

    The issue with coach Bud, even going back to his days in Atlanta is that he has always been a great regular-season coach, but struggles in the post-season. Bud struggles with in-game adjustments and post-season adjustments during a series. The championship year involved the Nets losing Irving to injury and a hobbled Harden. Even in the finals, the Bucks one because Monty was a worse post-season coach then Bud by refusing to give help to Ayton on Giannis that whole series.

      You are only as good as your roster as an nba coach, and in my opinion Coach bud got the most out of his roster. They are good but they are still flawed. Giannis is a very flawed player. He is a poor free throw shooter and is reluctant to shoot a midrange jumper which would make him unstoppable. It really hurts the team in big games. The coach can only do so much. Giannis is like shaq in a lot of ways, and shaq didn't win a title without a second superstar. Holiday is great but I wouldn't call him a superstar. Another coach is not going to get much more out of this team in my opinion.

    I am a Dodgers fan and Budenholzer's career and outcomes really remind me of Dave Roberts' career. Had one of the best player in the league, talented roster that had great chemistry, and always somehow managed to come up short when it matters in the playoffs. Their shortcomings and weaknesses as the head of the team was mascaraed by the talent and success of their players. The team won regardless of them.
    Budenholzer is regular season great but can't make up anything on the fly in crunch time. Just like Roberts and just like his stint in Atlanta as well. He had it coming. Now for the Bucks to move on from Middleton as well and get Giannis a real no 2. Jrue is not a real no 2. Both Middleton and Jrue are great no 3s in a championship team

    A lot of blame has to go to the front office as well. Failing to keep Brogdon, Divencenzo and Pj Tucker left them with no future and no grit. Replacements for them were subpar and they lost those players for nothing. Not a lot of people talking about that

      They don't have a lot of room, Jrue is overpaid, they will probably try to keep Khris, at which point, good luck building a great roster with anything but young guys that come up on your watch. Crowder was a mistake. That's why this move, it gives them a couple years of "well it's a new coach new system" before they will be held responsible, so that allows them to try to figure out a roster.

    Milwaukee always seemed more like a team with a second-round ceiling that had a lucky run to the 2021 title than an actual title contender to me. The common theme in their playoff ousters (Toronto 2019, Miami 2020, Boston 2022, Miami 2023) under Mike Budenholzer were the teams got physical with Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee didn't have a consistent counterpunch offensively and Budenholzer didn't seem to make any adjustments.
    I thought Milwaukee was going to fire Budenholzer in 2021 after Brooklyn destroyed them in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference sound round. Then Kyrie Irving gets hurt in Game 3 and with James Harden already hobbled, Milwaukee comes back to win that series almost miraculously in seven games. Then Milwaukee struggles to get past an Atlanta team that clearly played above its head in the conference finals. And finally in the NBA Finals against a Phoenix organization that had not made the playoffs in a decade, Phoenix's Monty Williams foolishly has Deandre Ayton (a marginal to average defensive player) guard Giannis one-on-one, and Giannis feasts in the interior.
    As great as Giannis is statistically, his lack of shooting makes it easier for teams to gameplan against him in a seven-game series: Keep him from running down the lane by clogging the paint with multiple players, get physical with him and make him shoot free throws. Khris Middleton is more of a No. 3 player and Jrue Holiday is more of a No. 4 option on offense. I believe Milwaukee had just a lot of things that break their way in 2021, and that season was more of an aberration of what they really are.

    It was a long time coming, I know it’s rare nowadays when a coach lasts long in a job in a lot of sports but honestly, coach Buds lack of adjustments in the playoffs and failure to understand matchups is something that was always an issue. You’re able to get away with that in the regular season but not when you play a team 4-7 times and have to change/adapt quickly. Only reason he stayed till now is because 2021 championship saved him.

      @@lazzi2462 it’s not uncommon for coaches to get fired within the first 5-10 games of the season. Typically minds were already made up at that point. As I said this firing makes basketball sense but it’s a bad look PR wise given what Bud had to deal with during this last playoff.

    • @lazzi2462
      @lazzi2462 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@psychobluesfxt It's not uncommon, but usually that only happens when a team starts off bad. Do you really think the Bucks will start off bad? Most likely not. Firing a coach during the season typically only happens to losing teams. You gotta make these moves during the off-season, so you can get a full training camp with whoever the new coach is. New coaches are rarely hired during the season, if a team fires their coach during the season, usually they just move their Assistant coach into the head coaching role.

    he got his chances. The first not-so-great playoff run, I thought he was gonna be gone then, but they kept him around. Good in the regular season and did win the big one, but the last couple playoff runs sealed his fate. This team would get very ISO heavy late in games, and that's definitely not their strength. I get it, player's coach, but you can't just abandon the Xs and Os in the playoffs. James Harden and the Rockets showed us all that kind of play will not win you playoff games.

    • @robbnoble1509
      @robbnoble1509 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It seemed like he couldn't or wouldn't make adjustments after the other team adjusted to counter the Bucks' offense, and they would just struggle to generate anything organically through it. Then it would come down to Jrue Holiday chucking up really ugly contested shots or Giannis driving into a 50/50 chance of charging foul on him vs blocking foul on the defender. Personally I think more of those fouls that were called as charges were actually blocking found, but that's beside the point.
      I never root for anyone to lose their job, but this needed to happen. Mike is a 2x coach of the year and 1x champion and should be able to pick up another head coaching job with a franchise that isn't contending. The Bucks sorely need one of the league's top tier coaches to advance to the next level as a team.

    how does Stephen a not know why? Even if he can't see it for himself, all he has to do is listen. Bud was a system coach. Doesn't really adjust strategy from one playoff opponent to the next. He had the attitude like "this is who we are and we'll see what happens." Also, little things like never taking a foul when up by 3 at the end of the game. An elite team needs an elite playoff coach not a good system coach.

    • @robbnoble1509

      Their roster is good. You have the best player in the world, 2 lower tier all stars, a top tier role player, and complimentary pieces that limit the opposition's ability to exploit Giannis's weakness. Sire, they're no KD, Steph, and Klay, but they are likely the best Non superteam roster in the NBA over the last few years.
      Bud's coaching history is rough. 2019, Bucks were expected to win the east easily but were exploited by Nick Nurse's wall. Bud had no answer. 2020, Bucks come back as the 1 seed and are exploited by the same strategy but against the heat. Bud had no answer. 2021 they overcome the wall due to Giannos improving and improving the roster to better fit Giannis. Bucks win the title. Last year the Bucks offense struggled to generate anything organically against the Celtics in the conference finals. Bud had no answers. Bud had no answers and the Bucks started relying heavily on iso basketball. And we all saw what happened this year. And to add insult to injury it's the 1 seed losing to the 8th seed.
      A top tier coach is needed to take this team to the next level, and Bud just ain't it.

    Bud is one of the best regular-season coaches in the NBA. The reason he is successful in the regular season is that there are not many adjustments needed from game to game. You go on a 12-game winning streak using the same scheme. In the post season, however, Coach Bud was not good why because he didn't adjust. When Jimmy was cooking them we didn't see anything that looks like an adjustment. With a better Post season coach we would be talking of a Bucks dynasty. 2019 to 2023 (Would have expected 3 championships). Coach Spo has been in the Heat for many years now, maybe they must to try lure him to see what magic he can do with the Greek Freak
