I always wonder exactly how much time elapsed between Max collapsing drunk on his bed and waking up to find paramilitaries ransacking the boat.
Maybe three or two hours
The clock says 17:28 when he fell asleep and the alarm woke him at midnight sharp, so I suppose 6 hours and 32 minutes to be precise. But then that wouldn't make much sense since it was still afternoon outside when he was on the deck, so let's just not pick at details :)
Probably my favorite moment in MP3 is when Max wakes up and can only hold his face in disbelief that this is happening. In my younger days, I laughed at the moment Max woke up to the shitstorm that ensued from some party thrown by the rich people he worked for. Now older, I can relate to the exact moment he realizes shit hits the fan, and often hold my face the same way he does when things go south. Laughable but relatable. Fortunately for me, I don't have to kill pirates after though!
ughhhh Rockstar should either remaster the whole Max Payne Trilogy or at least make it backwards compatible! I've played and beat all three of those games and loved them all! I still remember my first time playing Max Payne back in 2003 on my brothers PS2! I borrowed it from my friend and had to sneak it because it was rated M and I was only 9 years old! Great memories! and great series!

Missions like this with a soundtrack like this remind me that Max Payne 3 was a low-key beta test for GTA 5, I just wish they had kept some more of the tight shooter controls and environmental detail

100% one of the best games ever created. It just sucks because rockstar makes 10/10 games all the time but for some reason no one cared about this one. But like you said “Lowkey” because people like me and you appreciate it and can still call it a masterpiece of a game even if it’s not everyone

This was my favorite mission in this game just because of the opening soundtrack. They even used a slowed down version in gta5 pause music it was so good.

Why does the Engine room explosion around the 9:00 mark remove all painkillers? I usually kill those guys with the 2 painkillers from earlier still unused, but when the explosion happens, it leaves you with no painkillers. I guess it's implied Max was injured in the explosion and used them but I feel scammed out of my pills, lol

I do have a couple of questions. First, how did these paramilitary troops take over a lock on the Panama Canal? Aren't they supposed to be highly guarded. Secondly, wouldn't these guys normally take hostages and ransom them?

This chapter and cemetery one are most climatic for my taste, great
The area after 17:20 is very difficult with no good angles on the enemy. NYM HC is impossible due to this difficulty.
Just playing through this game on Medium difficulty and I died 10-15+ times on that part, I would have to redo that part with only heal. On the version of the game I played (Complete Edition on PC), there were also enemies that spawn on the boat just across the water on the right after you kill 2 or 3 enemies on the top deck. Super rough.

The boat had money from Victor's organ trafficking operation, which was going to be laundered in Panama. The paramilitaries were there because of the money that was there, so they rounded up the civilians, among them Daphne and executed them all.
Marcelo did knew some of the things Victor was up to, but he didn't expect that Victor was willing to go too far in order to get what he wanted.

This is the same exact boat as the one in gta online. It makes sense, considering rockstar made this game.
There's three things I liked the most: one -- the very shooting tactics where the player tries to catch the dot and point it where it should be; two -- the fact that this level was played on console, so it was really hard; three -- the careful walkthrough, so all of this was epic enough to watch. Copasetic...

I Sort of narrate what I’m doing like max, obviously self depreciating
What I did was kill the first dude that appears and then quickly shootdodge backwards, and while I was laying on my back just roll around a bit to get a better sniping angle. You start picking them off one by one and once you got most of them, then you can get up and quickly kill the remaining peeps. Once the 2nd wave of peeps starts, repeat the process. It works. :)

Yeah, in San andreas they deleted some beta missions. There is a beta mod, which makes them playable again, cause Rockstar left some files of those missions in the game.
