I'm an expert player but this map is so awesome that I'm determined to make it the first GM map I ever clear. I kid you not, I once dreamed up the same theme once. It must be fate. Update: Got burnt out grinding lv.3 so I took a break clearing Ferocious Sanctuary+, now back to the grind.
If you are really going to play this level as your first Grandmaster map, don’t do the berries: they raise this map to be the 14th hardest map ever made so… just be careful and prepare for a grind lol

The funny thing about Celeste is it seems like the difficulty curve sucks you in before you know it. Like you beat the OG game and think “ain’t no way I’m doing the optional content” but then, you try 1-B and it’s surprisingly… doable? Like 1-B is probably easier than 7-A. But that’s how they get you! Suddenly before you know it you’re knee deep in chapter 5-B wanting to murder your past self for getting you into this! And then you beat all the B levels and you think “okay, that was pretty intense. But I’m proud of myself, and don’t need to do any more. But I’ll at least check out 1-C, just to see what it’s like” and suddenly before you know it you’ve started mastering wavedashing to beat Chapter 9! For no reason!! And then you look at speed runners doing demos and extended ultras off of coyote time and whatever the hell it is we both just watched, and suddenly you think “no matter how slippery the slope of Celeste’s difficulty curve, surely I will never, ever go that far. Thank God!!” So yes, I know exactly what you mean. Celeste has robbed us of our sanity, but we’re still saner than these people. 😂 For now.
This map looks much easier than it actually is, particularly due to how deceptively precise bumpers are. As of writing this comment, 3 people that I know of outside of dev have cleared this map, with the fastest clear being >6 hours without berries. The only harder SJ map is The Solar Express, and even then some argue this is harder.
yeah bumpers are such a bullshit mechanic when the maneuvers you have to do are precise. currently trying to do chapter 6d in monika's d sides, and even there im struggling hard even though i have tons of hours in the game
there are actually far more demodashes hidden as well. there is this tech called a moonboost that looks like a midair super when in reality its a demodash into a hyper aligned to a very specific corner of a floating block
I wonder if I will be able to tackle any grandmaster levels. I'm currently at advanced and I'm doing... eh, I wouldn't say I'm doing bad. I got the gist of everything so I'm good with movement tech. I'm pretty sure it will at least be POSSIBLE for me to beat expert levels, but grandmaster ones? I really don't know.
You will definitely get there some day! There was I time I struggled a lot on intermediate maps, and now I play a lot of gm maps, it just takes time and effort!
looks rly fun and doable besides the demos, my opinion is that required frame/pixel perfect tricks in games are the best way to ruin anything cool you have going on
The demos aren't anywhere close to frame or pixel perfect. In most circumstances in vanilla they kinda are, but here they're all set up to be much more lenient than that.

that only has to do with the mod for rainbow skin for the hair you can see before the level, without that you would see the normal pink/red/blue

just make sure you have your controls well thought out and low latency, and you can do it

after clearing can confirm the moonboost is not the problem, it's the downdash before it
The only 1f's in this map are in malfunction, which thank god that berry is like 2 seconds long
What's going on at 6:20 after the ultra? It looks like the extended hyper starts before the platform and I am confused
its a demohyper, which essentially a midair super but with a demodash instead of a right dash, giving you the same outcome as a hyper
