Great question! Getting a document apostilled can be tricky when you go directly through the FCDO. We have trained executives who will ensure that the document provided can be apostilled, that any other certification can be carried out (at no additional cost or stress to you), and we will correspond with the FCDO on your behalf to fix any issues that may arise. So, we recommend that you let us take care of it!

There is no deadline and they do not expire; however, many businesses will not accept it if it is older than 3 months. Do you have apostilled documents already?

@@1stformations in order to get an apostille for a uk msc degree does it need to be verified by a solicitor first?
@@sanrifujino2895 Thank you for explaining. If it is the original degree, certification is not normally necessary. However, as part of our apostilled service, we will get the document certified by a solicitor if it's required.

How about Special Power of Attorney?

Thanks. I have a diploma and a transcript to be Apostilled. Aquired these in the UK but I live now in Sri Lanka. Will it be sufficient If I get this Apostilled/ attested by the British Council in Sri Lanka ? Is there a difference between attesting and apostilled? Cheers

Apostilling is the process of affixing a certificate that authenticates the origin of a document. In the UK, apostilling is carried out by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). The document can then be used in countries that are a member of the Hague Convention.
For countries that are outside the Hague Convention, an additional attestation (or “legalisation”) is also required to verify the authenticity of the document and allow for its use in the country.
Unfortunately, we cannot comment on the apostilling/attestation requirements of specific organisations such as the British Council, and we would suggest you contact them directly for this purpose.

@@1stformations thanks for the reply. British council cannot get involved in this process. I have to get a solicitor to certify and then forward it to the FCDO. That’s the cheapest way to get it apostilled.
