You know, I see a striking similarity between what happened with Rooney and what happened with Pogba. Remember when Rooney, at the peak of his powers, questioned whether Manchester United could stay competitive? He wanted to leave because he didn't believe the club was attracting top-class talent anymore. And, in many ways, Pogba was in a similar situation. In both cases, these were world-class players. At their very best, they were among the elite in world football. And what do such players want? High-caliber teammates, a team capable of competing for trophies. Rooney went from sharing the field with Scholes, Giggs, Ronaldo, Tevez ,and Berbatov.. that’s some extraordinary company.. to playing in a squad where, quite frankly, that same level of quality wasn’t around anymore. Similarly, Pogba came from a Juventus team where he played alongside Pirlo, Vidal, Tevez, and Dybala.. a team packed with talent. When he returned to Manchester United, he was probably promised more stars would follow. But aside from Bruno Fernandes, who did come in later, Pogba found himself in a team that didn't quite live up to the promise. Now, here's the critical part..in both cases, the upper management let these players down. Ed Woodward and the Glazers, especially with recruitment, didn't give these players the tools to succeed. Rooney at least had SAF, who brought in RVP and, together with Carrick, built a team that won the title. Pogba, unfortunately, didn’t have that kind of backing. It would have been better for both the club and Pogba if a move had happened earlier.

Not a good coach? He took Bournemouth from bottom of league 2 to PL with ZERO money, they were that skint he had to buy training equipment himself out of his wages.
He took Newcastle from 19th to CL in 1 season AND a cup final. Newcastle finished with the joint best defence in the league and one of the highest scorers. He finished on 70 odd points which is even more than Villa finished with last season.
Villa finished 4th last season and yet Newcastle still scored more goals than them😂 - everyone talks about Emery but Howe finished 4th with more points than Villa, better defence and one of the highest scorers in the league 2 years in a row.
Newcastle will get 4th this season.
