- The MacMaster takes a trip to Blackpool to Bingo Chris Higgitt's Las Vegas Arcade Blackpool & £1 Burger Bar to review Blackpool's Famous £1 Burger as seen on Channel 5 TV. While The MacMaster was there he managed to speak to the owner and King of The Slots Chris Higgit. The big question is for £1 how good can the burger be? If it's that good, then this is a place you have to put on your list of things to do and places to eat when on your holiday in Blackpool. People saying it must be dodgy for a quid..pop down the fronts and get the SAME burger for £4.50. Just because it’s more expensive doesn’t mean it’s any better quality .I got a burger, hot dog and slush for £3.00. That’s probably £11 on the prom. It’s called profit guys and he’s making his minimally but word of mouth and discussion like this gets him plenty of business .
The Burgers are Bookers the Baps are too.I used to use the same Brand on my van years ago.I tried fancy Costco ones but went down like a lead balloon.I'm in Blackpool beginning of Oct for a few days this is on my list just around the corner from Bloomfield Rd where I'm staying! I'll be going to the Mermaid Cafe for a whippy icecream and donut!
@@elizaphe58 Have a good one hope the weather holds out. I usually go down to the chippy on the side of Coral Island kids eat free there. I’m not a right arse far from it but if you want to be ripped off in Blackpool there are LOADS of people willing to take your cash for overpriced food and drink.
It doesn't matter what anyone else is selling them for. A £1 burger is a shit quality burger made from shit ingredients. Its that simple.

Yeah that's what I was thinking it's called a loss leader also if it's only a pound it's prob something like Rustlers all the same though cans of pop and cups of tea for 50p I would go there for a snack I would prob get the hot dog though Chris seems like a nice guy fair play to him

burger looked lush. that bloke was friendly too, i like blackpool but do disagree to the donkeys on the beach baking in the swealtering weathe,r same for poor horsies going up and down all day carrying big loads and all for mans own greed, anyhow rant said. Thanks for sharing.

Oh yes the good old days of a burger and fried onion, ketchup. Much prefer to these fancy burgers with the rocket and fancy sauces! They can cost about £8-10

the donkeys have it cushty nowadays, carrying wee ones on the beach... their parents and grandparents had it tough though pulling coal carts in the Welsh slate and coal mines... having said that the wee ones are not as wee as we were back in the day, what with the rationing we had during the war.. did I tell you about the war ? Oh.. it was hard in them days.. not like today what with all your McDonalds and stuff. Whatever happened to Woolworths on the front at Blackpool ? I used to love going to the cafe there for a cream tea after listening to that Raymond Wallbank playing his organ on the North Pier.
Chris as always been a character, I worked with him way before he moved to Blackpool and what you see is what you get.
Every time I go back to Blackpool I alway call in and get the £1 Burger, best burger in town
Cant complain for a quid, looked really good. Nice that people who don't have loads of money with kids can feed everyone with something tasty and not get ripped off just because they are at the seaside. Big up to the Burger man
No matter how much the hen parties etc have spoiled Blackpool at night, during a summer's day on the sea front it's still a fantastic place to visit.

There isn’t night life anymore likes it used to be. Stag and hen parties were always big in Blackpool especially in the 90s

There were 30 odd nightclubs all packed to the rafters in the mid 80s and hundreds of pubs .Now it's just a desperate place clinging on and all that has gone. The big cities have taken over all upgraded and buzzing whilst Blackpool doesn't know what it even is. If you know you know

Well it isn't Five Guys, Shake Shack or Tommis burger joint it isn't the same thing is it so there is no point in making that comparison with London as for price you can get a Whopper for £1.99 in Burger King with the app every Wednesday in London

Well done to all those who suggested Lee try the Higgitt's Famous £1 Burger... What an absolute bargain this is. For those on holiday in Blackpool, they can visit here and fill up the family, for a less than the price of a London priced Burger. And for a score of 9.9... it must be pretty good quality too... Bun good... Burger good... Onions good... Price... Outstanding!. And yes... i love the sights and sounds of the British Seaside, such lovely childhood memories. Cheers Lee, for taking me on a nostalgic trip back in time. 🍺
We saw this on TH-cam a couple of weeks ago and we went to try them out, burger is so much better than ones on front, even with a can its only 50p extra so cant argue with that and its only a street back so not far to walk and Chris is amazing hes so chatty and just lovely in general! We will definitely go back again.

All the place has to offer. I was up few years back an you can still get Babs for £18 a night. Mattress free with DNA stains and Rock burns plus 70s custard cream bedding.
Nothing wrong with a near naked burger. Sometimes I prefer it simple and not overloaded with stuff that isn't burger.
Absolute bargain, I was expecting a small thin thing on a cheap cob but that looked fresh and a good size, the fella is a right character typical of the people it that area.
Used to live in Blackpool when l was younger in the mid 80's. My parents owned a B&B, found memories of going to thr arcades with my brother & going to the beach with a doughnut. Yes it's grotty, smells of weed etc but when your a kid u just ❤️ the place 😂🤣 took my daughters there last year & they ❤️ed it 😎
Had a few there last week + coffee and bought slushes for my daughter and her fiancée who visited for the day , Mrs absolutely loved the bingo next door and after daily visits over the week walked away with about nine fab prizes, had a quick chat with Chris
Great value ideal for families on holiday with hungry kids ps enjoyed the Django Reinhardt jazz guitar music
i was going to comment on how cringe it is whenever someone mentions a restaurant owner by their name, but Chris at the £1 burger place is brilliant you can see why he is liked and mentioned so much! small place too! he has done really well
Visited today after watching Lee’s video. Ordered two burger’s a spam barm a tea and a hot chocolate. It cost me the total of £4.50. I can honestly say the burger was great and the spam barm was amazing with brown sauce. The guy behind the counter was great to talk too if I’d have paid double I wouldn’t have complained. If your in Blackpool visit the place you won’t be disappointed…

I won three times in a row at that horse racing game about forty years ago when I was ten, on holiday. The prizes increased the more you won, so my parents said I could have another’s couple of goes the next day on the way to the train home.
We were late for the train and couldn’t collect my prize. Still in therapy now.

You can’t go wrong with that price £1 for a burger 🍔 I would have ate 2! I’m glad you enjoyed Blackpool it’s nice when sun ☀️ is shining and people are out and about and you see many smiling faces I live in fleetwood but often go to Blackpool just for the sea air nothing better than that!

Great video and great score and analysis of the burger. I go here almost every time I am in Blackpool, as don't go anywhere else for my burger. I've known the owner for quite some time now, I sometimes get the Burger, Sausage and Egg for only £2 - which is a bargain!!
I could almost taste the burger, onions and ketchup Lee! Add to it the sea air and you've got a winning combination there. It's been a while since I've had one mind.

£15???? OMG! What a rip off! £15 is about $35AU! You can feed a family on that here! Sure there ARE some burger places here with burgers around $20, but the size & quality is phenomenal! So about £8

Casinos been doing this for years, give customers free meals sandwiches etc to keep them on premises , because if they went out for a meal they may not come back ,its an old trick of the trade

oh how i miss blackpool being from Scotland it was a once a year job when i was a kid we used to have a weeks holiday and stayed in Fleetwood at cala gran holiday park and wow it was such fun and then when i grew up and had my own kids we did the exact same once a year holiday to Blackpool and the kids loved it as well god i miss Blackpool it was so much fun and the dohnuts with the hot chocoalte sauce they were to die for haha

I used to sell that Brand and the Buns on my burger van many moons ago.The Builders ,Truck Drivers Police loved them! Tried some more expensive but they were not happy complaining what I'd done to their Burgers! So back to basics it was and happy customers!
