On July 27, 2022, at approximately 1653 hours, I, Trooper Jhordann Barker, was monitoring traffic traveling on Fairburn Road. While observing traffic, I observed a motorcycle pass my location at Fairburn Road and Plaza 92 Drive with no tags displayed on the motorcycle. As the vehicle passed my location, I waited for a break in traffic and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle. As I turned west onto Fairburn Road, I observed the motorcycle coming to a stop due to the red light at the intersection of Duralee Lane. As I caught up to the intersection, I observed that the motorcycle had ran the red light and continued on Fairburn Road. As I continued on Fairburn Road, I began to approach the intersection of Dallas Highway and Hospital Drive. As I approached the intersection, I failed to get a visual on the motorcycle. As I waited at the intersection, I observed the motorcycle coming eastbound on Dallas Highway turning south on Hospital Drive. As I observed the motorcycle turn onto Hospital Drive, I activated my emergency equipment, and attempted to catch up to the vehicle to perform a traffic stop on the vehicle. As I came through the intersection with emergency equipment activated, I observed the Motorcycle rider begin to look back towards my patrol vehicle before accelerating his motorcycle initiating a vehicle pursuit. As I observed the motorcycle increase it speeds, I notified the Troop D communication Center that I was attempting to catch up to a motorcycle traveling on Hospital Drive. As the motorcycle approached Dorris Road, I observed the vehicle run through the red light and accelerated at a high rate of speed. As it now became abundantly clear that the motorcycle was not stopping, I notified the Troop D Communication Center that the motorcycle was failing to stop and that I was now in a vehicle pursuit. The pursuit continued down Hospital Drive approaching Campbellton Street. As I approached the intersection, I observed the motorcycle begin to pass traffic improperly as he began to split through traffic. As I attempted to alert traffic of the incoming pursuit with my emergency equipment , I was slowed due to heavy traffic and a small metal pole on the raised concrete barrier which prevented me from immediately proceeding through the intersection. As traffic yielded to my emergency equipment and moved to the right, I continued the pursuit turning left onto Campbellton Street heading towards Interstate 20. While turning onto Campbellton Street, I advised the Communication Center of the motorcycle and rider description. I advised that the fleeing motorcycle was white, and that the driver was a black male with dreads wearing a blue shirt and tan cargo like pants. As I continued on Campbellton Street, I observed the motorcycle continue to drive in a reckless manner, going in and out of traffic and running the light as he turned left onto Interstate 20 East. The pursuit continued on Interstate 20 East at a high rate of speed. As we traveled Eastbound, the pursuit reached speeds in excess of 100 mph. The motorcycle continued driving in a reckless manner, cutting in and out of traffic, putting the general public and himself at risk of a serious accident. As we neared Lee Road, the motorcycle exited off the interstate headed towards the intersection. As the motorcycle began slowing down for the intersection, I used it as an opportunity to decrease my patrol vehicle distance to the motorcycle. AS the motorcycle came to the intersection, the rider made the decision to continue to evade by entering back onto the Interstate heading East. As the rider entered back onto Interstate 20 East, I notified the Communication Center to contact the Troop C Communication Center and advise their units of the incoming pursuit. The pursuit continued Eastbound as we crossed over into Troop C Territory. As we continued traveling east, the pursuit came upon heavy rush hour traffic. Due to the traffic, it became difficult to maintain eyes on the motorcycle. As we approached Fulton Industrial Blvd, the rider continued weaving throughout all lanes of travel. I maintained my patrol vehicle on the right shoulder paralleling traffic. I observed the motorcycle cutting over from the right lane to the far-left lane and lost sight of the motorcycle. I continued traveling on the shoulder, as I did not observe the motorcycle exit off Fulton Industrial Blvd. As I neared the Interstate 285 Bypass, I was notified by Sergeant David Whitehead , that Troopers were standing by on Interstate 20 East near H. E. Holmes over Troop D Radios awaiting the pursuit. As we passed the Interstate 20 East to Interstate 285 Bypass, I notified the Troop D Communication that I lost visual on the motorcycle and that I was going to continue until I reached H. E. Holmes were Troop C Troopers were standing by. After making my transmission over the radio, SGT Whitehead advised me to continue the pursuit as Atlanta Police department made contact with the rider at M.L.K. Blvd. I continued towards the last known location in an attempted to re-initiate contact with the motorcycle. As I began closing the distance to the last observed location, I overheard on the Troop C Radio, that Phoenix, APD Helicopter, was getting airborne and requested last known location to assist. I again overheard APD advise that they were coming upon the downtown connector. As the vehicle came upon the connector, APD advised that they lost contact with the motorcycle as they approached the connector and did not have a direction of travel. As all contact was lost, I turned off my emergency equipment and proceeded back to Villa Rica Territory. Note: Approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour prior to the vehicle pursuit, I observed the motorcycle traveling on Fairburn Road headed towards Interstate 20. I observed that the motorcycle had no plate displayed on the rear. I waited for a break in traffic and turned around in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop. Before and as, I turned around, the motorcycle quickly accelerated to the next light and proceeded to Interstate. I was unable to get a direction of travel and continued my regular patrol.

Too much traffic to be chasing a 🚀
No reason the porker to almost kill those innocent drivers.. nearly hit 7 cars who couldnt react in time to his excessive reckless driving.
"porker"? There is a porker here and it's not the officer. Usual slimy cop hater telling lies and spreading cop hate just to justify blaming the officer instead of the crook. Grow up.

Why even risk everyone and chase a bike ? Stupid
Cop was very dangerous for a heavy traffic. Totally stupid, he should quit.
I rarely say this, but the cop was actually a good driver. Regardless, the cop is pretty dumb for chasing after a motorcycle for a traffic offense.
No need to.chase him in that kind of traffic
Why did it take so long for him to terminate this pursuit? Way too dangerous for everyone involved and citizens.
GSP is really not keeping anyone safe but their own egos
GSP Trooper chasing his ego!
👍👍
16 minutes and 19 seconds of wasted time.
That chase should have been called off! period! Get him another day but don't put all those public people in that kind of danger!
This is sick. Unless this dude is a known serial killer there’s absolutely no justification to put so many lives at risk. This needs to be outlawed:
Wrong title. Should be "Georgia Trooper makes stupid decision to high speed chase biker, risking public safety."
Well, that was dumb and incredibly dangerous for the trooper to risk countless lives because his whittle ego was obviously hurting.
man i hate these sports bikes as much as the next guy but this was completely inacceptable and appropropriate for the cop to pursue. lane splitting, passing on the left and right, debris in the shoulder and having to swerve etc. traffic was wayyy to heavy to persue this. cop was being far more dangerous than the actual moto bike itself. All that just to lose him in the end. Cop needs to be reprimanded. Put himself and countless others at danger because his ego was too big. Put others in danger just so you could write a speeding ticket just to lose in the end anyways. Absoultely pathetic.
The whole time I saw no bike. This was nothing more then a high risk "chase" for civilians. Stupid move by PD
"Saw no bike"?!?

That ain’t no PD. Thats GSP.
I'm trying to remember when I was ever taught to hit the brakes when a cop car comes up behind me at high-speed with lights and siren blaring.
I think "it's omg what did I do? Am I speeding? Shoot, I'm camping in the left lane. Do I get over? Is it clear? "
"Pull over or slow down" is the law in many states, including Georgia. I'm not aware of a single law that states "Do X during the three or four seconds you can see a lunatic cop flying through heavy traffic behind you."
@@CAHSR2020 Well see, the problem is that *you* need a fucking *law* to tell you what to do, instead of utilizing some common sense in the moment.
Ego maniac cop, needs to be in jail for public endangerment
No tags? That is your justification for endangering countless innocents? Some cops are just way too emotional and think it's a game.
That big ego
I'm not sure I've ever seen a Trooper drive so recklessly. Zero situational awareness and depth perception. JeezusH.

Yes, the officer had zero situational awareness because he should have realized that endangering hundreds of people to stop someone for not having a plate is lacking situational awareness.

Typical GSP, reckless driving like a bat out of hell endangering countless members of public all to pursue a motorcycle he can't catch in moderate and heavy traffic over a minor violation. Insane.
these guys run for a reason. very naive way ofthinking that he is after him for a " moderate violation." as we have seen in countless chases like this. the perp is usually a convicted felon, possesion of an illegal fore arm.murderer ,drug dealer ,rapist, ect
