I found the camera lens (or the plastic over it) got scratched - it was taking poorly focused photos because of it. So I purchase a replacement back cover and set about replacing it. The replacement was poor and the housing around the the camera lens was different to the OEM cover I took off. Also, it was missing what I believe to be some of the antenna parts glued to the inside of the back cover. In the end I put the original back cover back on the phone but swap the plastic lens cover with that from the new cover - knowing full well this phone would never be waterproof again. Now it all still works, photos are pin sharp like before the OEM cover go scratched but they are good enough. The LED flash is useless now as any photo taken with flash is horrific. Also, I need to replace the glue holding it on and it's loose in places. Since doing all this though the WiFi strength has been really bad. It get better if I squeeze the back on tight so I assume I have a bad connection somewhere. What I'd like to get is a proper OEM replacement back cover with everything already attached but I can't find one anywhere. Does anyone know where I could get one?
When I replaced my battery cover, the cover doesn't seem to be sitting flat with the phone around the bottom third of the phone. I think it's due to the battery pushing it up slightly preventing it from adhering properly and sitting flush. I was wondering if this was normal when replacing the battery cover, thanks.

Hello, dear Carlos, your rear glass was shattered, if u want to replace it by yourself , u need one Heat Gun/Blow Dryer to heat up the edges and sides of the back cover in order to loosen the adhesive that secures the cover, then u can use Guitar Picks along the edges and sides in order to loosen the adhesive so you can take off the cover.remove the cracked glass and the adhesive, the next u need to replace one new adhesive on the back housing, put on the new rear glass, u can do as our video did or go to our z1 teardown blog:www.witrigs.com/blog/sony-xperia-z1-teardown/

It is not difficult to replace the back of a Z, you need to heat the back of the phone by a heat gun, and then remove the back cover by suction cup and guitar picks. Remember not ot overheat it. If you don't have dissambled any phone ever before and are afarid to cause some damages to your phone, you'd better ask the professional for help.

The damage is only on the outer plastic frame around it, which after watching the video, seems you dont remove it. I want to ask if its possible only the plastic frame to be changed. You can try to replace the LCD with the digitizer.

I did this, it's not hard at all. My only complaint is the annoyance that may or may not come w/ gathering the proper equipment.

Hello, I have recently dropped my phone on its back. The cover is okey, its not cracked. The damage is only on the outer plastic frame around it, which after watching the video, seems you dont remove it. I want to ask if its possible only the plastic frame to be changed. I really hope that there is a way of doing that. Moreover I can see that from the right side the frame is a bit rised. Now i am affraid to use my phone under water. Cheers.

I just replaced the screen and battery on a xperia Z, and now it's will only turn on whilst charging. If i unplug the charger it will turn off, has any got any idea on how to fix this issue?
It may be the battery contact problem. Try to install the battery again, or you can send it to the Sony care for help.

amiruldnie Before taking the phone apart completely, try opening all the flaps, removing the sim card tray and micro sd card, and placing it in front of a dehumidifier or air conditioning unit for a day. This has worked multiple times for me.

Black&Pink its cheap and very easy to replace the glass on it.... But still, bad quality=bad feeling.... I got the nexus 6 after my second z3c...and didnt like it that much, now i got the note 4 instead of sgs6...and im again impressed with the note.... I had note 3 and it was the only phone that impressed me very much, as the note 4 does now:)
