Just moved closer to the atlantic and checked out the inlet last week for the first time. Conditions were rough and only had heavy weights. I'll try your advice next time and go light.
You can do bottom fishing in front of the red buoy and right of it and will not get snagged as you would in the rest of the inlet. lightweight is always good on the beachside. Welcome to the east coast.
I went with my brother around 4 today, threw fresh cut crab on 30lb flouro, 3 ounce egg, 4/0 circle hook on fish finder.. literally nothing.. switched to 30 lb flouro with jighead swimbait & first cast reeled 1 in. We caught 9 & had a lot more bites as well

Hey man one more good tip is to attach the leader line to the braid with a double uni knot. Less visible compared to a swivel and more likely to fool a big snook. Crazy how smart those big ones are
Visiting here on vacation and trying to see a few fishing spots. I see a lot of people fishing at the inlet. Do you have any luck in other spots. I thought about trying Rocco Park or at Mary Mccloud fishing dock? Just trying to find some peaceful this week. Thank you for your content!
I've never been to any of these two mentioned! You can fish on the other side of the inlet, New Smyrna Dunes Park , Jetty park in Cape Canaveral and Sebastian inlet where you can go to either north or south entrance. Enjoy!
New to your channel. Great stuff bro. I come down once a year to fish the Sebastián Inlet from Chicago. Have caught a bunch of fish but never on lighter gear. On those jig rods did you say 50lb or 15 to 20lb braid? Moving down in 3 years when I retire looking forward to some great fishing. 🇵🇷
Thanks! I use 15lb braided line and 20-25lb leader. The lighter the better. At sebastian I go a little heavier, 30lb braided and 30-40lb leader if I'm fishing the North jetty. I go lighter on the South jetty. Congrats on your coming retirement and you will definitely have great fishing tdown here!!!
1 rod with a Jighead and a gulp mullet will pull big fish all day (caught 5 snook in the last 2 days, none under 28in) ... or a Savage gear segmented lure is killer ! Other rod sitting on a Carolina rig (like yours) and a live 🦐....very rare for me to not catch a fish.... We are from the same area, try it out....
@@redsfishing-pescarojas734no problem, those savage gear lures are so life-like, fish cant resist them.. on other lures sometimes fish will smell them or follow them without commiting but the savage gear lures look so real that they immediately inhale them...they are more expensive but worth every penny.. good luck brother

on outgoig tide the fish start moving away from the rocks and on incoming tide they move closer. However, if you can find deep holes or ledges during low tide they are good places to fish.

Thank you!!! There is plenty of fish at the inlet and you should be able to catch black/red drum, snook, pompano, sheepshead, mangrove snappers, Spanish mackerel, and many other species since March and April are very good fishing months at the inlet.
which side of the jetty do you fish from? If you fish on the inlet side and you use heavy weights I suggest you fish in front of the red buoy. Anywhere else on the inlet side you will get snagged. You should look at both the inlet and beachside when the tide is at its lowest peak so you can see where the rocks are. also, when you are reeling in your line and get close to the rocks you should reel fast to avoid getting snagged. if you use heavy weights use egg sinkers on the inlet and pyramids on the beach side.
for some reason I am not able to pull your last comment on my last video and reply to it. If you are fishing on the inlet side you will most likely get snagged 90% of the time because of the rocks and the drop offs. If current is not that strong use 1/8 oz. Make sure you have plenty of jigheads .

Mr Rojas , Can you explain how you go about choosing which day and time of day helps you increase the odds of catching fish?
The best time to fish is at the change of tides. 2-3 hrs before or after the tide changes.

gulp mullet will almost always catch fish, specially the flounders. I have not tried the savage gear yet, but will surely check it out! Thanks!!

They are still around the surf and jetty. Mornings at change of tide will give you better chances on catching them.
