Excellent video , I have been waiting for someone to explain this sciency topic of solunar and barometric pressure and how it affects fish, very well explained.👍👍👍
I know this is an older one but I had to comment. Great video! I use the exact same website...many times daily actually. I focus primarily on pressure, tides, and lunar transit/opposing lunar transit. (I don’t focus on moon phases so much until we approach full moon). If you can fish a situation with all of these occurring at the same time - rising pressure, the two hour window of peak high tide, lunar or opposing lunar transit, and low light conditions.... grab your gear because it’s on!! If you can catch all that on the day of the month with the full moon, then call in sick to work because it’s going to be epic!! I hope your others viewers are doing the same because it certainly makes a difference MOST of the time.
Been using TidesforFishing for almost a year now. Tonight I learned more from this video than I have in that last year. I had the data, but didn't know how it all worked together. Big thanks! BTW, the snook bite was insane under the bridges in S. St Pete tonight. Following the chart, I'm heading back out shortly!
You can still catch them you just have to find those deeper pockets that hold the fish. It can be a little more challenging and you need the right vessel.
Capt. T, bro I always look up this app before going fishing. Down here in the Galveston area, this app really helps, especially at the jetties and the peninsula areas, such as clearlake and Seabrook area ( where I usually fish). Your absolutely right, the app works well. Thanks for the info, Tight lines never stop! Can't wait for the next vid from you, my friend!
Great explanation of this website. I use this site all the time down here on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. Like you said, there are days that say it will be crappy for fishing, but it ended up being a great day. However, more often than not, it does help with planning out more productive days. Heck, it's a free tool, why not use it.
Thanks for sharing this awesome resource, man! I'm new to fishing and I'm interested in learning as much about the basic strategies of when/where to fish, so I'll definitely be checking out this site.
I learned a lot from this. It sounded well thought out and the explanations were easy for me to follow. I'll check that site. Thanks this helped this "Tide Dummy"! The pressure explanation was awesome bro, I never knew that.
Great video. Ive been trying to understand flood ebb and slack current. But im getting confused wben i see slack water is sometime in between the high or low tide. How can slack current be before high or low. Thanks for great video
nice information. definitely learned a lot. I will say that this video is 70% of the success. the other 30% depends on you to learn your fishing spots. Different areas might have different feeding times just because of its geographical composition. I wish you would also touch on the moon phase how it affects the tide strength.. thanks a lot bud
Sounds good my brotha... honestly brother I want to be as good as you.. I want to learn all your tips and tricks and also learn how to read the waters and what lures and soft baits to use so I can become a great angler I've tried to study my waters and I can't seem to get it right thanks and God Bless
Awesome video that talks about so many questions I have had. Josh I have heard that morning fishing after a full moon is typically very poor because fish have fed all night. Has this been your experience? Are there fish that prefer outgoing tides as opposed to incoming? I have fished tarpon outgoing with luck because of crab washing out a pass. Would that happen say king fish outside the bay? What is the worst wind conditions for rough water to avoid going out into the gulf? I have to watch this at least four more times. The explanation for barometric pressure was very informative and will check out the website. Thank you.
I use the same site! Even if I don't get the fish I like everytime, but, this is pretty much 85pct to 100pct accurate on my use of this site before I go fishing
This might sound dumb, Is this info page your talking about just for salt water? with the tide stuff & other it seems like its geared for salt water fishing. I fish fresh water.
I didnt fully understand, if its incresing/rising affect fish and they are less active etc but you mentioned that the rise was a good for fishing is this correct?
Joshua, thank you for this; youre a good teacher!.......I tried to find the chart that you put up on your video.....Tides for Fishing.com and typed in my zipcode, it did not come up as you showed, if you would please tell me again. thank you, Rick
Hello, first thanks for sharing. I begin this year to surfcasting and i am very focus in reading beach structure. Can you advise any book ou source of information to go deeply in this subject? Thanks in advance. Paul
OK but if I'm successful at a location, using what appears to be the correct technique, on an out going tide and the when the tide switches and I catch nothing, can't that mean the movement of the tide has something to do with the success? If you or any one else has an answer I'd like to hear it. Thanks
Can't really say since I can't see the bottom. I am fishing where I assume the rock piles are, on the South Pier in front of bait house and a little farther up near the second bathrooms. Thanks for taking time out to help. Even if I don't catch a cooler full I enjoy going and enjoying the sun and salt air
My question - when there is a low tide coefficient (when the difference between high and low tide is small with less currents) is it better to fish rivers/river mouths or in the deep pockets of ocean such as jetties?I suspect rivers are good then because there is less mud kicked up but I only speculate.Any experienced thoughts?
Down north as I live here in Sacramento California maybe some day you can come down so we can fish the American river my brotha and maybe I can learn from you how to be a better angler
I have good luck on a n wind.not so much on the east.but i do know this.i catch lots of fish when my line is in the water.you will not catch fish if it isnt.this always applies.
I've used "tides4fishing" for years and it was always wrong. The tides were 45min off and the "high activity/low activity" was never correct. I only use it for information on barometric pressure now. That part is spot on. But don't trust "tides4fishing" for your next blitz fishing... just get your line in the water.
@@Saltyscales hey man! Loved the vid! My English teacher back in the day just drilled it into our heads so it's basically a reflex now XD XD Sorry for being such an @$$hole 😬😬😬

Thank you Red lady fish, glad I could help.
Joshua Taylor If high or low tide is at night do redfish or trout feed then ? Or is it a good time to fish ?
I like that,”The best time to go fishing is when you can”. Totally go by that philosophy. Well said.
Absolutely
I like to go fishing when the water is wet.
Getting skunked all the time makes me grouchy and depressed, so I beg to differ.
"the best time to go fishing is when you can". True, I go fishing not always for the 'fishing' part, sometimes just for the 'go' part.
I know this is an older one but I had to comment. Great video!

You're welcome
Awesome Video.....Now I am beginning to understand Tides, Moon Phase, Pressure, etc....Tnx.
probably the best explanation I've come across to date! Thanks for the info!
I appreciate that Johnny and you're welcome!
best site for tides that I've found
Capt. Taylor, thanks for all the knowledge, I'm surely going to use it! Be well, Ray
You're welcome, thanks for watching.
Thank Josh, very educational and very informative. I will study this and try it.

Great to hear and sorry for the delayed response.
Thanks for the video. In my area the major periods seem to be always low tide. Minor periods are always high tide.

Joshua Taylor what time ??
8pm eastern
i use this site all the time thanks joshua!! This will help me on the back bay fishing the reefs!!
You're welcome Grant, thanks for the comment.
Great info! Thank you so much. What is the closest tide location you have to Panama City, FL that would be in Central Time Zone?
So does that mean that you should fish greater depths when the barometric pressure is at that point?
What is the best time to go stripe bass fishing and what's the best lures or bait to use what works best for you thanks josh
Are you asking for down in Florida or up north?
Where/how to you find tide current speeds? Good video, well done!
This might sound dumb, Is this info page your talking about just for salt water? with the tide stuff & other it seems like its geared for salt water fishing. I fish fresh water.
There is never a stupid question, the tides apply to saltwater but also brackish water as well. The moon, wind etc... Applys to all fishing.
I didnt fully understand, if its incresing/rising affect fish and they are less active etc but you mentioned that the rise was a good for fishing is this correct?
Does this work in lakes which don’t have a high or low tide?
Absolutely, the moon, major, minor, wind and barometric pressure impacts all fish.
Joshua Taylor do you think on small city lakes with hatchery trout, it has minimal effect?
Joshua, thank you for this; youre a good teacher!.......I tried to find the chart that you put up on your video.....Tides for Fishing.com and typed in my zipcode, it did not come up as you showed, if you would please tell me again.
thank you, Rick
I appreciate that Rick, just go to www.tides4fishing.com and pick your location, then narrow it down to your exact location.
Hello, first thanks for sharing. I begin this year to surfcasting and i am very focus in reading beach structure. Can you advise any book ou source of information to go deeply in this subject? Thanks in advance. Paul
Question.... I fish the south Skyway pier and always do better in the mornings on an out going tide. Any idea why this is.
If you fish the right areas on the incoming using the correct technique, you can be just as effective. Especially on the first hour of the transition.
OK but if I'm successful at a location, using what appears to be the correct technique, on an out going tide and the when the tide switches and I catch nothing, can't that mean the movement of the tide has something to do with the success? If you or any one else has an answer I'd like to hear it.
Thanks
Tide definitely will impact the bite but typically the first hour of that tide switch is fantastic. Are you fishing structure?
Can't really say since I can't see the bottom. I am fishing where I assume the rock piles are, on the South Pier in front of bait house and a little farther up near the second bathrooms. Thanks for taking time out to help. Even if I don't catch a cooler full I enjoy going and enjoying the sun and salt air

is higher tidal coefficenrt better than low?
I like higher coefficients, much more water movement.

I've been using it a long time and it's rarely off in our region. 👍
plenty of apps you have to pay a monthly fee to see the same things online for free. not wasting my money on those anymore lol. thanks for the advice
That's right, free and a great reliable resource.
I fish for the fun of it. If I really have to eat some fish, it's available at the grocery store or restaurant. Don't stress over catching
Don't stress but learn and catch a little more. Catching is always more fun. ;)
I dont see Ohio on the site
I’m a sore loser. If I expect skunks instead of fish, it will be much better for my mental health and for those who have to put up with me. Thanks.
No such site
I've been using an imaginary website for years I suppose? Site is there and in PERFECT working order.
Joshua Taylor my bad forgot 4
No worries
utilizing = using, why ever say utilize?
Because I can, why waste time commenting and critiquing something so petty is the question? 🤭

Do you have makeup on ?
Blake Camacho yea man, that is what I do. Get up and throw some makeup on, paint my nails and dye my hair.
"Fish senses barometric pressure" ... Fatal non-sense! Just think about physics for a moment if you have any education.
You definitely need more education lol. We know fish, listen and learn.
