This story of three brothers can be confirmed from elders in every Sumi village. In 1990s I had a grandfather who lived till the age of 107. He used to relate us this story of Angami, Chakhesang and Sumi. The story he learned from Morung, in Sumi we call "Apuki". This is why Angamis call Sumi, as Se-mie, which means "third-one".
There are also same clan story of Zhimomi, Lohe and Theinuo. In earliest Sumi villages like Ighanu and Lazami, Zhimomi people are called Lohe or Zhimo Lohe.

Bro I think it's the Sümi village near Chizami village. They speak Aphuyemi Sütsa too.
There might have been a misunderstanding because other dialect speaking group like the khezhas call Kikruma Sumi ( sounds like Soomi with rising intonation). Kikruma is a Chokri speaking village almost like Southern Angami dialect and also they border them.

It is good knowing the traditional history of our Naga brethren
Just heard that Chakhesang is comprised of three communities namely
    Cha for Chokri
    Khe for Kezha
    Sang for Sangtam
If that was correct then what about the Sangtam brothers in the Tenyimie family

    • @theingenious8197

Chakhesang name is a made up name for convenience.. nagas were small tribes illiterate and no one knew about us much including ourselves so it was during British time that they cluster the 3 tribes names together.
There are 2 naga group and they came from 2 different route and sangtam -Ao -chang and Easter nagas form one group and angami-sumi chakhesang form one group so it is never a possible thing that chakhesang and sangtam are releted no never! It was the mistake of British that they cluster sangtam names together with chokri and kheza possibly due to the proximity kipheri-phek neighbours.
But it does not mean they are blood related

I also want to tell you that every village has own way of narration but there was migration period in our naga village history also so some might hv move downwards while others move upward also or east to west and west to east vice versa. What I heard is many Chakhesang also migrated to new village later and so as sumis and Angamis too. There were also some who move upward(opposite direction) again from Angamis and sumi areas and settled at Chakhesang area. There are stil sumis village who are now considered Chakhesang due to geographical location undr phek district so even Sangtams and sumis have mixed settled villages and this shows it cannot be wrong to say there was brotherhood relationship with Sangtams also.

@@kihokhutiji7957 i think you're understanding level is very weak
Whatever you said is true and I totally agree and I never contradicted your point! However I'm talking about the blood relation and the same migration group!
If you're saying sangtam and chakhesang came from one same blood and migration route then you must be the weakest person knowing about the naga tribes!
I don't have to give you more proof to convince you if you are an intellectual person and have an understanding capacity you'll be able to catch up with what i said.
Sangtam: 1. culturally very similar with eastern nagas and AO
2.Language similar with eastern naga tribes
3.They practice tattooing and log drumming
4.chokri and kheza do not practice log drumming and tattoo
      5. Chokri and kheza language is similar to angami-sumi language and very very different from sangtam
6.chokri and kheza came from makhel-khezakeno (southern naga) whereas sangtam did not came from the same makhel- khezakeno place.
We all know that every naga tribes did not came from this makhel khezakeno but mainly 2 group and 2 wave/route of migration.
And just because sangtam happens to be in the cha-khe-sang tribe name you're saying that sangtam is related to chokri and kheza? 😂 Wow I really appreciate your stupidity😂

Coz tenyemia is run and lead by angami tribe we all know that and other tribes listen to what angami tribes say ..so whe angami and sumi become hostile and angami chooses not to include sumi tribe ..other tribes have nothing to say but simply accept it and to be honest we all know even if it it good ,bad or evil other tribes from tenyemia will simply accept and take it if angami says it and accept it which is kinda funny 😂

Some more tribes relate their migration to the present day settlements to Khezhakenoma. And every tribe will have stories that are similar to one another. The missing link is that there are no written records.
I also hold the Angami, Chakhesang and Sumi brotherhood in high esteem. The only thing I want to ask is, Why did the Sumi menfolk discard the use of mekhala/kilt worn by the elder brothers and started wearing loin cloth? I believe some Anthropologists will bring up more interesting stories in the future.

    • @nagaeutopia
      @nagaeutopia 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

I think you should take some lessons on History and human progress through the ages.
The Loincloth is one of the earliest forms of clothing, and may have originated from a narrow band around the waist that held decorative and amuletic pendants.
Inorder to wear clothes, one must have weaving technology.
The loincloth is by no means the successor of the Kilt in fact its the other way around.
If we are to reverse engineer Naga history. We will observe with ease that most of our ancestors were naked/Semi naked.
It is said that the Sumi's must have adopted the lengtah or Langtah from Lotha's.
And also the protective Guard affront the lengtah from other trans tribes.
due to its varied designs across Sümi country.
Therefore, its not that Sümi menfolk discarded the use of the kilt, but it never reached the point of furthering its weaving technology just like many trans tribes, they found it convenient and in tune with their surrounding so they kept the loincloth.
Weaving technology took time to spread.
FYI learn to differentiate Wrap around and Kilt.
The Angami's or the Tenyimia people generally wear kilt due to their close proximity with the Meiteis and Kachari people.
The term "loincloth" was first recorded between 1855 and 1860.

Chakesang was not mentioned in the said sources, it is of later origin, meaning the Chakesang and the Angami were one, this can be speculated as to why the Angami inhabited areas, have Northern, Western-(Chakhro), Southern, but not Eastern
The word Semia/ Se-mi as popularly addressed by the Angami and Chakesang could also mean 3rd person
