    I remember doing this in high school, but that was 30 years ago. I am glad this channel explains it well. My teacher I had didn't do as well. I got an A in the class, but I never really understood what I was doing. I remember looking up on a chart to find out the degree. Could you do a video explaining how that number is calculated instead of just using a chart? Thank you in advance.

    Hello, back in the 80's i was in hi school cabarrus catholic college in neg occ ph. I still remembered those abreviations of sine ,cosine and tangent. Calculator was scarce we use the list in a little book trigonometric table.. it was awesome and challenging..

    I dug out my slide rule to see if I remembered how. It took me a while to realize that the T scales were themselves the degree values, and the tangent value is to be found on the C scale. So T is the arc tangent of C, once you figure out which T scale is the appropriate one. I got more than 3 significant digits, but not quite 4.

    FOCUS ON THE WHY? I’m 59 and l agree w most of the posts…”wish l had him as a Math teacher.” Respectfully,kick it up a notch! If you want real IMPACT (however u want to measure it), spend an equal amount of time on what most students are puzzled by on WTF does it matter. Get people to love/yearn math/science’s. Show them how (examples) it impacts life as they would know it. That’s the magic! Again, at 59 with a smaller window of time, there’s a greater appreciation, a hunger for “ what l don’t know…but should.) 😉

    Not so sure about 30.96 degrees! Why?
    O = 3 A=4 H=5 is a known, given "right angle" triangle of 30, 60, 90 degrees.
    In this case, project the two triangles over (a=4 over A=5) where you can see the
    30 degree triangle is inside, therefore 30 degree angle will be a larger number than the
    angle in question.
