Nice video. I am going to try this out cause my motorcycle is electric start only unfortunately and my battery is completely dead. Plus I am not sure if it will keep a charge because I don't have a battery charger anymore and pay day is a long way off. The other way to get it running is jumper cables directly to my solenoid that will make it turns over as well without charging a battery that may not even keeping a charge. I've done the second thing many times and it works great every single time then once it's running again just push start it from then on and don't allow it to sit for long periods of time in the rain because it can cause damage to your carburetor if sits for to long without starting it every so often.
Look guys it does work I just started my 4 wheeler yesterday but I forgot what detection the drill was in my husband did it all the time but he went to jail so I haft to start it now
Do you know if the automatic clutch can be adjusted on a 110cc automatic Chinese atv. Having issue with if u stop on a hill it don't want to pull up it
I got a 50cc Baja engine an it dose not like to start I need help I’ve done almost every ne carb header starting coil but dose not like to start help pls
Agreed Wow talk talk talk for four mins before showing what to do in 10 sec. Maybe the next video just get to the point and not talk about when you were a kid and what you know and what you purchased and fixed up years back. Nice video at the end and I believe we were all happy when you were done talking.
I tried this with my Chinese pit bike and couldn't get it to start... Last I knew it had a bad starter and starter solenoid... Maybe I'm not getting a spark?
Don't tell people "you don't need a battery"!! Because you DO need a battery in it because if not you run a huge risk of burning out the charging system!!
I'll have to try this out. I've been playing with a Yamaha blaster and ttr 50 lately. The blaster runs fine until I hit the throttle then it boggs out. I've been push starting the 50 but I eventually spun the tube inside the tire and ended up destroying the bead.
someone gave my son a 125 Yamaha, & was trying to show me how to start it this way, but he held the drill on it for like 1-2mins straight without letting off, it never did start😢 it looked like you just hit the power on the drill a sec & it started right up...ya don't just keep drilling on it like he did, do ya? plz tell me how
''How to reverse start a child's atv''? What engine is in there 50cc , 90, 150, 250, 10,000? You one handed that drill, I'd think for a 250 4 stroke you'd need a pretty strong drill..shrugs...
This is similar to starting a model T or other early car with crank start.... and rolling start on a standard transmission vehicle. Nice video!
I did this with my generator worked great! Thanks
Great way to have it kick back and break a wrist!! Ya great advice!!

Great find James. Hope your son has fun on it 👍👍.
Thanks! I hope so too

I wrecked a 212 cc motor doing this ! FYI it worked a few times though
reverse or forwards for the impact?
Saw this on Project Farm's channel last week. He also uses a plug-in drill to get more RPM's than a cordless does.
pretty cool trick!
Would you happen to have a link to project farms video you mentioned?
@@Ludwig4571 just search ProjectFarm on here, you'll probably find it no slower than I could at this point.
@@Fister_of_Muppets i did a variety of searchss including project farms channel, the google, and youtube search features before asking you, hello?
Milwaukee fuel impact/ hammer drill (cordless with 5.0ah) won't turn it constantly

Good video. Thanks.
Anyone know if this will work on a scooter?
👍👍👍Good deal!
Thanks!
I did this and stripped the threads over about a months time
You can also us a cordless battery 18 volt or 20 volt i us it to crank my riding mower or generator and atv
Question, what if I did the drill both ways multiple times? Is it guaranteed screwed?
Start at 4:10
Doesnt it kicks backwards?
That's a good way to back the flywheel nut off and destroy your stator in the process lol
Will this work on a Tao Tao 110 dirtbike
The flywheel nut will come loose eventually. It may be worth using loctite on it or drill and pin it.
my drill turend the wrong way fast and now no spark, gussing the coil made sparks that went inside it damaged it and heat . melted a wire in it.
Great video but what is the best voltage for using a cordless drill?
Robert Venable the best voltage is 18V
Goood info
What kind of drill is it?
Can you do it on a 325 four wheeler
4 minute intro wow whoops 5 minute intro
He's not boring. Good talker.
Yea really
@@fintonmainz7845 are you saying stuck on a deserted island 🏝️ he'd never run out of things to say?
I guess it doesnt work on a engine with dc cdi box?
What if the starter is bad ?
I got a 50cc Baja engine an it dose not like to start I need help I’ve done almost every ne carb header starting coil but dose not like to start help pls
I'm pretty sure it was on reverse but then today the bolt came almost all the way out
I tried this method on my 17 year old $50 atv and i got a new spark plug for it and it still doesn't start. Can someone help me out?
What kind of fourwheeler is this!?!? I think I have the same ine

What drill bit
You can also tow start them
Hey Jimmy just like Indy cars and double a fuel funny cars only their drills are a little bigger
Oh yeah!
You should make videos of fixing things you would have way more viewers!
Which direction are you turning it? Tighten or loosen?
Loosen
This should be called. How to burn a drill out in just a few minutes.
And then what happens when I'm out on the trails and it stalls or I accidentally hit the kill switch then I'm in big trouble
Than u bump start it
Hopefully this works

Right on! Sounds like carb needs rebuild kit... diaphragm sounds like culprit
@@STKO2011 2 strokes don't have a diaphragm dummy
@@Ja-fh8io ok google it...
which way should the drill go?
Reverse
Did u have the drill in reverse to start it.?
yea it needs to be reverse
on every small motor
hope it helps
It's a good way to damage your fly wheel clutch
good thing I have an automatic
Can someone help me my crank start is super hard and its hard to turn it on can someone send me a video of how to fix it
Would this concept work with a klx650?
It will not. The bigger 650 engine has much higher compression.
I’ve got a tao Tao 110cc wheeler does it matter on the engine cause ik you said reverse but I don’t want to mess anything up?
I know this has been a long time ago but I hope someone will see this
My crank is hard to turn dose that mean my engine is bad
Or you have it in gear
Will this work on a chinese Tao Tao 125 atv?
Should
I tried this and nothing happens I have literally the same one I don’t know what to do anymore
Make sure the carburetor is cleaned and the spark plug is in good condition
They can be push started too
How
Does this work on a yamaha bigbear 400
Not sure pop off the crankcase cap and try it
You put your drill on reverse,or forward???bro
Reverse, counterclockwise. Very important.
Did u run the drill on reverse or forward
Yes drill was in reverse
So can I just use a makita battery drill and start my bike anywhere 🤣

hi, on drill i must get normal or reverse move? thank you
Reverse
I thought gy6 engines had a stator not magnetos.
Some have stators some have magnetos had 125 one with magneto and 110 with stator same motor think it just depends on what size you get
Is that manual or auto?
I would assume auto since it's a kids ATV. And it doesent have a kick start
Doesn't the drill have to be in reverse?
yep, that's why I stated the flywheel nut needs to be tight or itll come off crankshaft
My bolt just comes off
man you really like to hear yourself talk eh?
