@HPislegend248 It's the same principle, yes of course one is a much much bigger issue, but they're both injustices. There will be enough people if enough reliable information about cannabis is actually available for them to realise it is significantly less harmful than tobacco and alcohol, and that therefore there is no reason to keep it illegal. He's been in government for a couple of months, what difference do you expect him to have made in this time?

@damoleinsterful Ming doesn't promote drug use. He has said many times in interviews that he doesn't care whether people smoke cannabis or not, he doesn't encourage or discourage others to do it, he simply thinks it should not be a criminal matter.

No matter if you agree with ming or not, its a brilliant triumph of democracy when a working class man from a deprived rural area, who openly smokes cannabis and has never worn a suit in his life can be elected to the Dail, it proves that you dont need to be rich to have power, its not about 'who you know' etc. and thats something compared to other countrys where you have to be a wealthy business owner to get into any areas of power, even look at america. it proves democracy works in Ireland
