+James Kingston Different company made waters have Different PH because they choose it to be like that. Having it more acidic would make it taste and be different than a more alkali water, You don't choose the most "blue" water or else you will end up drinking bleach.
+Razor Kunai yep, totally agree, it only can't represent part of the quality. Btw, if are already a healthy person. Just try to drink ph scale 7.0 water instead of alkaline. Drinking Coke while commenting you back.
Just a point, bleach has a high alkaline number. You wouldn't drink bleach unless you listen to sweatshirt, so you should stick to water that has a pH of 7.0 which is the natural pH of water.
for us a PH of 9.5 is basically drain strong cleaner... do not drink that 1 is acid 7 is neutral and 14 is drain cleaner "in soviet Russia Water is Drain cleaner"

evian is my favorite and by far one of the best out of having to choose from figi or smart water .. over here you barely find different brands of water
actually that stereotype isn't 100% true, they drink as much beer as vodka and then barely drink beer. I have no idea why that even started, probably during ww2? when the Russians had to get drunk because war was soo bad they didn't want to feel pain and suffering and they just drank themselves, (Just a guess don't start crying or calling Microsoft just because I said this)
+Boca Juniors BBBUUUUUUTTTTT.... if u drink even as much beer as vodka what would make u more drunk ;) like if someone says i drink alot of vodka its proberly less then when someone says i drink alot of beer. but more alcohol...so fkng bad at trying to explain but i think u get it :)
the pH scale is from 1-14 1 being acidic 14 being very basic water is suppose to be in the middle.. Just because it is a higher number doesn't mean it's better bleach is 13 if you want the purest water according to crazy russian hacker it's bleach since the higher the number the better. Baking soda is a pH of 9. Orange juice and soda is a pH of 3.
+Quinn Explain what this genius meant by pure water because it doesn't make sense AT ALL. If you have the knowledge of this chemistry then go ahead Einstein
RyuFan1999 pH is just scaling the acidicisty of something it doesn't have to be water. Water is just a thing in the scale and 7 is pure water while those other objects are like either 9 or 3 also all those objects have water...
I love how some brands say "Our water is slightly alkaline, making it more healthy!", while others say "Our water is slightly acidic, maybe making it easier on your stomach and blood or something?". FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! Personally, I would rather just have plain distilled water, not bottled tap water with or without additives. Wait, from the ones in there, why would you want a pH that strong?! 9.5+?! Your body will have a really hard time trying to balance that back out! Especially since it'll neutralize alot of the acid in your stomach and likely cause acid reflux, especially if you have an empty stomach. +Deneia Canty yes but he talks about whats healthyer all the time but thats not really true. Whats healthy and what not depends on the person and most times doesnt even matter at all.
+aljo10lp I think it's universal that alkaline water is better for overall health than acidic water. I can't think of a case where that fact is not valid.
+aljo10lp Acidic water is very bad for your health. pH tests a major aspect of quality of water. Acidity is poisonous for your cells and slows down division. However pH is obviously the only health component of water.
+Victor Parker all water needs stuff in it like protein and salts. Pure distilled water will give you severe stomach pains. Same reason that saltwater fish die in fresh water, basically. Animal cells that live in freshwater actually pump excess water out constantly. But human cells don't.
2:53 it is normal, because it is carbonated, put normal water with the indicator in a glass, and blow in air with a straw, there you get the resoult of carbonating water
Titan Something more is a base. Its caustic abd can do more damage to you than an acid. If its slightly acidic you body produces Na2HCO3 to neutralise the acid thats normally in your stomach.
So manly in doing water tests. Most normal pp do it with a little cup and drips, this guy puts the whole bottle to the test. That's russian style I tell you. Manly.
TDS and Hardness would have been easy tests for you do along with the PH test. Some of this water you're testing is R/O water or its distilled water. Smartwater is distilled and Aquafina/Dasani are both R/O water, the minerals get stripped out but the companies usually add them back in so its a null argument.
To much acid or to much alkaline is bad for you. Dude... You do realise that the closer it is to 7 the better the water is? By the colour Voss looks around 6 pH. Norwegian water is generally near 7 and mostly 6.5-7. Norwegian water is best water
Your better having slightly alkaline water depending on your diet, if you have allot of acidic foods then having a PH of 7-8 in your water will be better for you and your teeth
Owen Wakefield Bleach is also good for the teeth, wanna drink that as well? Acidic water 6.5-6.9 can impossibly hurt your teeth. Pretty sure it has to be 4 or less acid for it to be bad for ur teeth
Why waste a lot of it. Pour a few drops in a test tube. When you run an experiment, everything must be controlled in an equal manner. You can't just pour different amounts of pH indicator into different amounts of water. It is ok for this experiment because it tells you whether it is basic or acidic solution but it is not clear enough to tell fine detail, if you would have poured more indicator, it probably would have turned darker. What you should have done, is get some test tubes, pour equal amounts of every brand of water with equal amount of indicator, then you can accurately determine the order of pH. Better yet would be a pH testing paper.
Out of most of the comments I saw you are the only one I saw that notice that problem too. Funny how everyone is just talking smack to each other about what he says or people say about it but don't realize what the real problems are about the test he just made
"See all of them are brand new, I just came from the store" and when he was buying 9 water bottles, the cashier was probably like "damn this man thirsty asf!!" lmao!!
Actually the point behind drinking alkaline water is it's absorption rate. Water that has a PH of around 8 is better absorbed by the body, simply because of the molecular cluster size. Meaning, the number of molecules held together by a cohesive bond. In average tap water, the cohesive bond holds around 12-14 molecules together as a cluster. In water with a ph of 8 to 8.5 that number drops to around 6. Smaller molecule mass makes it easier to penetrate the cell membrane, thus delivering more hydration to the cells themselves. So it's not about one water being better than another... it's about which water is more readily absorbed. Higher absorption rate means you get better hydration with less water.
Wow. Such an inaccurate measurement of ph lol. Why didn't you take out the same amount of water from each and put it into a clear cup. Then from there put same amounts of drops in each.
+xITactical_PvP I agree, in science class they clearly said 8 or higher is basic, and the highest one is drain cleaner. While a ph of 5 or lower is like drinking battery acid. I can't trust this guy anymore, he might be trying to kill us all.
+Angel Bisono That's not true. Drinking stuff with a pH of 5-8 won't do any harm at all. Neither will 3-10 for that matter. Coke has a pH of 3/4, orange juice ~3, and tap water 5-8. For example, in bleach, (~13 pH) the pH itsself isn't poisonous, it's all the chemicals
Awesome video. I'd be curious to see the same brands tested multiple times from different stores to break up the shipments, and see if the results are consistent.
I'm fairly sure you should be more concerned with the plastics & polymers and chemicals that have leached from the plastic bottles ( they say store out of direct sunlight for this reason ... Sure you can but was it stored correctly on the way to the store?) still both health effects are fairly negligible ... Especially if you something else like smoke or are obese ... You know who you are ;)
It doesn't matter what the PH or mineral content of the water is if it has been stored in a plastic bottle and shipped from A to B. Aqua Panna (from Italy) is PH7.9 and comes in glass bottles. No contest :)
Shows some of the most pricey water out there and says that people might like these. Gets out a cheap 50 cent water bottle and says its his favorite. Legend
There are over 3,000 comments, so I apologize if this is a repeat, but you have to remember one thing Taras: you need to test the exact same amount of water with the exact same amount of pH tester. So for example: test precisely 8 ounces of each bottled water (poured into a super-clean glass) with precisely 0.5oz of pH tester. Or 1oz or 2oz. Just as long as each water is tested in precisely the same way as the previous - with the same amount of water and same amount of pH tester, measured accurately. If you are using the same amount of pH tester on a bottle that contains 1.5 liters and then you use the same amount again on a 500mL bottle, then you'll get a different result. So let's say you use 1oz of pH tester on 500mL of water and then you use 1oz of pH tester on 1.5 liters of the same water, your results will look different.
You should be #1Scientist Recommended! Are you a genius? Did you take science class when you were young? But your awesome and keep up the science projects !
There are some issues with this test. 1. Alkaline water isn't always better for you 2. Water that is unnaturally basic (i.e. water with added salts or baking soda) is not healthy 3. Slightly more acidic water is better to drink after a meal to aid in digestion, rather than dilute the hydrochloric acid in your stomach If I am wrong about any of this, please let me know in a respectable manner. I like learning, I don't like being called a moron.
the best water would be a perfect 7.0 as its a complete neutral if a liquid is to acidic it eats your insides if a liquid is to basic it will also eat your insides so balance is key. acid that eats you: hydrofluoric acid / base that eats you: lye
If in water is carbonic acid it will turn red/yellow because it has the H+ in it. It can be actually good water because the carbonic acid will turn into CO2 and H2 by its self ( thats what makes the bubbels) and will turn neutral afterwards.
Spring water is the only type of water you should drink. It’s okay if you drink other water occasionally, but try to make spring water the majority of the water you drink. Spring water has been filtered by the earth in ways we do not completely understand, but which works better than any invented means of purifying water. Another advantage is that it contains a wide variety of trace minerals that the human body desperately needs. Ideally, drink only spring water from remote places on earth. It will be freer from pollutants. I love Hawaiian waters that run through mineral-rich volcanic rock (Hawaii is one of the most remote places on earth).
While I both agree that quite acidic water is bad for you and am not a chemist, I wouldn't confuse pH with quality. Some mineral water contains excessive amounts of bacteria and microbes that aren't found in, say, Voss. A dirty fish tank's water could have a higher pH than Aquafina, but that doesn't mean I'd drink it. Fiji and Voss are expensive because of their origin and cleaning process. Those of the reddish tinge could be the healthiest of the bunch simply because they don't contain bacteria or microbes, both of which are not detected by a pH tester. Yes, some minerals are good for you, but so is the absence of things that can harm your body!
The one that turned is most likely fizzy, that could be why it is bubbling. Since CO2 is an acidic compound it would cause the pH indicator to say your the liquid ( Bottled Water doesn't just have H2O) is acidic.
i've been told that green (neutral) water is best but its normal if its bit blue because they add some minerals that water flowing throught the water pipes wont rust em.
Hey great video. Always had this curiosity. Just one question. Can you make a video testing the ph from a normal water ( water from the sink) with lemon? I always read that putting lemon in water is a good way to elevate the ph. Can you do that? Compare with some of these bottled water? Tks in advance and good job with the experiments
Lemon is an Acid so it would make it more acidic which actually lowers the Ph (potential hydrogen). To raise the Ph is to make it more Alkaline which would take adding a base.
Highly acidic or basic h20 should be avoided. Ph of h20 is 7. Therefore, it is recommended that you drink water that has ph around 7. Anything lower or greater should be avoided.
I prefer Smart Water, mainly because it has electrolytes and is in the middle of the scale, as well as our blood being around 7.35 on the ph scale. I also like distilled and natural, I don't mind, as long as its nice and cool and fresh and in the middle.
The cells in your body rely on electrolytes to control cell membrane stability and to carry the electrical charges needed for muscle contractions caused by nerve impulses (Electrolytes are essentially salts that can carry an electrical charge). Just so you know, which is why I recommend Smart Water, but it's up to you.
Anyone with disgestive problems like acid reflux / heartburn / ulcers can tell you that drinking too much soda is painful. If you've had acid reflux recently, it can burn your throat and effectively be heartburn (without actually having stomach acid present). Also, acidic foods of any sort worsen acid reflux. It's not very uncommon to need to take chalk antacid (calcium carbonate) to compensate for the decrease in pH of stomach acid that happens naturally with age. So to me, alkaline water tastes more like water (soothing, cool) than water of exactly pH 7.
crazyrussianhacker note that you shouldn't leave your watwr exposed to air once it's out because it will decrease the pH due to the carbon dioxide (0.04%) getting in contact with your water.. That's just an advice that you should leave it in the fridge after so that the pHone remains constant. I study chemistry so I actually have some knowledge of H20 as I discussed almost all the questions on water with my chemistry teacher before..
Love how the most expensive water is the worst in quality haha
Same. Water is cheap when you take it from your tap. Don't waste your money on voss water
pH isnt quality its acidity

I can tell most of your subscribers have not passed grade 10 yet. They don't even know what ph levels are.
I'm in 6th and I know ph is testing acidity
+GamersCouncil You got free wifi too? That's so cool! When I was in my mom all I had was dial up and Ethernet cable.
+GamersCouncil 😂😂😂😂🙌🙌🙌🙌
You learn pH in 5th

My favorite drink turns purple
Its called bleach
+FrannyS me too
ha, yeah im surprised how many people think the more basic the water, the better
+FrannyS i cri
Im sure it would turn blue as the sea
+FrannyS i wanna see your insides then. must be perty klean.so show inside.

evian is my favorite and by far one of the best out of having to choose from figi or smart water .. over here you barely find different brands of water
big jim Same
that aquafina sounded so carbonated when he opened it
True
Maybe thats the reason why it turned red, cause of the H2CO3
no its cz this is a asmr chennal
Aquafina is NOT Carbonated
Aquafina always sounds carbonated and it taste weird to me
6:33 "I live in a country out of the city"
wait what
+Rehan Khan he doesn't say countryside lol
He means he lives in a rural area outside of the city.. Hence why he said he has well water
+Stutterbutter u try speaking 2 languages
+chuck norris ?? Do you only have the reading skills of a 1st grader??
+Rehan Khan Just says country, now delete your comment.
The reason that Aquafina became orange/red is because it is fizzy, which is created by CO2 gas, which is acidic.
To be more accurate it's because it dissolves which causes the acidity
Video starts at 0:00, you're welcome.
oh does it really!? well thanks bud☺
+TrueSkull No I salute you.
+TrueSkull I agree
Wrong, the video starts when I click the video.

No Dasani?
He lives in the US I'm pretty sure
thats what I thought
+Imaginary Taco He lives on Ohio
+OdysseyMatrix or Ozarka?
+Hudson Walker Ohio really!!?! I wonder where? That's where I live
The tester is an universal indicator.
The water which turned red was a bit acidic. Your favorite water is the best.
Um no you don't want 8+ nor 6-. You want 7, 7 is the best because its natural. Well that's what I remember from biology.
Alkaline water is good for you. Just expensive.
yeah 7 is neutral 0 is strong acid 14 is strong base
Haha, that's funny, you learn about acids and alkalis is chemistry... Omg rip
+David G no cause it's basic. A PH of 9 is the same as baking soda. Basic solutions can dissolve organic material.
yeah im biology they told us you want a neutral 7, that anything above that and anything below that was bad for you

The real question is, what PH is the PH indicator?
I think the PH test has a bad PH because he said not to drink it
+Asterix Gaming or it is poisonous
You just blew my mind
it called universal indicator
claire parry we know dude. but what is the ph of the ph indicator
No Poland Spring?
Ikr
+Will Thomas but he lives in North Carolina I think?

dude 😂😂

+TheLonePenguin Whoosh.
Sarcasm?
I'm pretty sure the one that went red was tonic water/fizzy water
+ItsRehzy it did fiz but diunt say on dee botel
+ItsRehzy its not, i had that water before and im never gonna drink it again.
yeah vinegar is slightly acidic (ethanoic acid CH3COOH) and bakin soda is alkaline (sodium bicarb - NAHCO3)
+Ben Black hi
Aquafina doesnt make tonic water. And if they did they wouldn't put it in the exact same bottle that they put their normal water in
now i know not to drink aquafina
Drew H to me all taste the same
PH test result can only be accurate if equal amount of water is tested (like 100 ml from each bottle)
Correct. He didn't have a constant.
You cant determine the quality of the water like this. It doesnt even make a health difference anyways.
Its only marketing sh*t

Aquafina one was carbonated and hence turned more reddish...CO2 is acidic in nature. That is 9th or 10th grade chemistry...
Aviral Sharma 8th im in it right now
8th grade chemistry-even better. Thank you
the best water would have a ph of 7
Yep. This crazy Russian hacker really is crazy if he wants to drink water with a ph of 9+
+Victor Parker why??
maurizio colombo pure water has a pH of 7.0. Why would you drink water that is contaminated
Victor Parker
what the hell are you saying??? it has only more mineral !!

when does it Start?
+InfiniteGadget 98m u mean starts
2:53 it is normal, because it is carbonated, put normal water with the indicator in a glass, and blow in air with a straw, there you get the resoult of carbonating water
just add two drops of lemon juice to your "bad" water, and it'll turn "good".
rofl
It's not "good". IT'S *"WORSE"*!
what about pool water or lake water
They're both unhealthy. Why would you consider drinking it?
Lil
+Spider Saucer lol, y so sirrius .-.
._.
+Spider Saucer •∆•
They have VOSS in Norway :p. It comes from Norway BTW
higher the ph the better from 9 to 13 is amazing for your body. it clenses better therefore youll feel more refreshed
+ashton parrish lol 13 would dissolve your skin and neutralise your stomach acid
sound like marketing wishwash.. want does "cleanses" actually mean in this context?
+Ivan Stroganov you can read up on some research and find out.
ph 14 is ammonia. I would stay way away from that
That would be drinking the ph close to bleach and it will dissolve your insides.
blue(9) is not good lol. stay around 7.0-7.5(green)...
Why
Titan Something more is a base. Its caustic abd can do more damage to you than an acid. If its slightly acidic you body produces Na2HCO3 to neutralise the acid thats normally in your stomach.
Ph7 (Green) is the most pure. AKA Least metal and nonmetals in it.

I have been drinking aquafina for 4 years!!!!!!
ACID!!!!!!!
Funny how everyone is just talking smack to each other about what he says or people say about it but don't realize what the real problems are about the test he just made
+426CJ still shocking he thought higher pH means that the water is automatically better for you
I always drink tap water :D
It's most delicious in Flint Michigan
+Victor Parker depends where you get your water supply
+dvgd999 I beg to differ.
Victor Parker go to the store and look at the bottle labels. Then come back and talk
In our country it comes fresh from alps
"See all of them are brand new, I just came from the store" and when he was buying 9 water bottles, the cashier was probably like "damn this man thirsty asf!!" lmao!!
The test was good and I like all your videos but you didn't know what you were talking about in this video
yup. He had no idea what he was talking about.
Do you look to see if there are already videos like this online before you make yours....or do you look at those videos and say "me too".

I've heard, that german water taste better than American water
+Bismarck Der Recke they only drink fizzy water over there
+Ronan Wennerstrom i don't like fizzy water at all and i'm german😋
+Laura Weinerth when i went i could only find fizzy
+Ronan Wennerstrom Wow where were you in germany? I can't imagine that. That seems impossible to me
+Laura Wienert i was in Sundern
awesome video man. opens your eyes to things you dont think about
Alkaline/alkali is just as bad as acid! get your information right man!
alkali can be worse than acids! WTF I just learned this in school! I am in an academy btw. You want an essay about it because I have one!
7 pH is the best because it is neutral, which has no harm at all!

Boom 💥
why would you want to drink water with a high pH? shouldn't it be around 7?
U know nothing about this!
When people tell me all water taste the same I sit there and look at them with shame
Awesome video. I'd be curious to see the same brands tested multiple times from different stores to break up the shipments, and see if the results are consistent.
i only drink distilled water because it doesn't alter the taste of my whiskey.
+fmx623 Yeaahhhh !!
You know who you are ;)
nice vid keep up the good stuff man
It doesn't matter what the PH or mineral content of the water is if it has been stored in a plastic bottle and shipped from A to B. Aqua Panna (from Italy) is PH7.9 and comes in glass bottles. No contest :)
Evian is my favorite. It's very smooth and soft.
Can you do this again with the glass bottles? Evian, Voss, etc.
Shows some of the most pricey water out there and says that people might like these. Gets out a cheap 50 cent water bottle and says its his favorite. Legend
"This has turned yellow. Almost red" Yeah it's orange.
This is the most useful experiment you have done so far
yet it is 100% wrong in its execution
+SquidPlays and is interpretation of pH, but you already know this. I see you spreading the good word in the comment section.
seagk1343 :D Thank you, my good sir
1. Alkaline water isn't always better for you
2. Water that is unnaturally basic (i.e. water with added salts or baking soda) is not healthy
3. Slightly more acidic water is better to drink after a meal to aid in digestion, rather than dilute the hydrochloric acid in your stomach
If I am wrong about any of this, please let me know in a respectable manner. I like learning, I don't like being called a moron.
the next time someone offers me aquafina I'm going to assume they're trying to kill me
the best water would be a perfect 7.0 as its a complete neutral if a liquid is to acidic it eats your insides if a liquid is to basic it will also eat your insides so balance is key. acid that eats you: hydrofluoric acid / base that eats you: lye
I love Hawaiian waters that run through mineral-rich volcanic rock (Hawaii is one of the most remote places on earth).
heads up, everyone is suddenly an expert on water now
That was the best video you ever made👍
While I both agree that quite acidic water is bad for you and am not a chemist, I wouldn't confuse pH with quality.
Yes, some minerals are good for you, but so is the absence of things that can harm your body!
what about filtered water, from these waters?
what filter is best?
water ionizers?
great test!

Do more health related videos like this! big plus!
