This is really nice of you to take your time and money to Educate the Public. From the bottom of my heart I say THANK YOU!! Until today I didn't have a clue and never really thought much about it, scary..
Wow, thank you so much for sharing this video! I love how you used many brands ranging from generic to leading brands. I am trying to live a healthier lifestyle and I read that high acidity in the body feeds cancer cells and other illnesses. The more alkaline, the better. It's so upsetting that dasani, aquafina, and smart water is acidic!! It's actually more expensive than other brands. I'm impressed with the Walmart spring water. I have sure learned alot from this video.
***** It's true that the quality of the food you eat and water you drink can make a difference. Also, the difference may not show up for a while...that's true too.
It is only good to have a little bottled water stored for if there is an earthquake, hurricane, or some disaster. Always be prepared; otherwise, I just use tap and filter it.
Joe Poulson I ran out of water, been drinking tap for about a month. Chicago area, and raised on Chicago tap. for 31 years, then started bottled water at 31 until this month, and I am 75 now.
I know you posted this a while back but I wanted to say THANK YOU anyway!!! I wish I had thought to check this out BEFOR I bought many many cases of bottled water.
Anyone watched ten of these video's done by different people where they use the same brands and are somehow getting completely different results. No two video's have been consistant!
Thomas O'Donnell yep, I'm noticing that.. not sure if it's the types of reagents they are using or what.. makes me want to do my own testing to be sure.
If you drink 3 bottles a day times 365 days per year that's over $2000.00 you spend each year and over 1000 bottles that go to the dump each year (just from one person).
But lets say that you have acidic water, is there a demonstration of acidic water going i to the filter and coming out alkaline? You put fairly alkaline water in to start so i would be curious to see distilled/penta water go through the filter. Great demo
I was personal!y surprised that the great value spring water got a dark green with a blueish tint. That was a better ph level than I expected and if I had to buy a bottle of water I would be happy with that. Not great but acceptable in a jam.
thank you soooo much for going into the all the trouble and making the video. I've been drinking Essentia for almost a yr now & it did help me a lot since I've always had high acidity. But, I"m definitely going to check out your website later. :)
Hello Cathleen, my name is Ms. Venus and i watched your demonstration and was blown away by what you showed. I had not realize that the pH in the drinking water was so high. I never really gave it much thought, but I will share this information with family and friends alike. I will be subscribing to your website to learn how to prepare my own drinking water. Thank you so much for making me aware of what i am putting in my body. This will also help me in my science lab class with Mrs. C. Harper.
You measure the ph with the first color it turns. You saw the 'great value spring water' go to blue, does not mean it's alkaline. Sorry guys, Smart Water is acidic water. It's been pointed out by anyone who tests it.
A few years ago I tested all bottled water I could get locally( I live in a very small town & they don't have even close to what you have there. Our tap water & Dollar General spring water turned out to have the highest alkaline ph. However, tap water still has fluoride & chlorine...have you tested all those bottles for those elements? The alkalinity of water shouldn't be the only factor in deciding what to drink regardless of price.
+AlkalineWaterPlus Thanks. So now I've stopped drinking distilled water and at the moment using a Brita filter pitcher. I know many people try to sell high dollar filters, but I just can't afford to spend hundreds of dollars...So have you ever done comparisons for the cheaper filters beside your Well Blue? Also, I've read that our blood's ph is around 7.4-7.8 so why do you think people need to have water at a ph level of 9 or above? Thank you.
+seeamerica1 ...with britta and other similar filters it doesn't change the pH of your tap water, so whatever the ph is for your municipal water that's what your filtered water is.
Each bottled water has a different fluoride level too. A bottled water with a good alkaline reading could have a high fluoride reading so when you want to find the best bottled water to drink find out what the acidic/alkaline level is and how much fluoride is in it.
Sad, the best one I've never heard of! Thank you for sharing this! I will definitely be on the look for the best one out of these choices if I need bottled water!
Distilled water is not for drinking. It is clean from salts but that is the reason why it is not good for the human body. You don't drink water for the H2O per se but for the minerals in it
I have been doing testing of pH and alkalinity of waters myself and my findings are similar. I prefer propel water myself. I have actually started to be able to tell the difference in pH by taste alone
No, no.... Not the flavored water. The new water that has electrolytes added back into it. I'm a waste water operator and I used a digital pH probe to test.
+Charlene Mara The reading should be taken within about 5 seconds. No more, because then the air has a chance to mix with the water and potentially change the reading.
You didn't really wait for the true colors to appear, after you made your conclusion the colors often changed. Other than that very good information. What pH indicator did you use? Could you send me a link to where I can buy one?
+Nicki Soedjiman The pH of your water depends on your water source. In the St. Louis area the pH comes in at around 9 pH. However in many areas the pH of the tap water is around 7.
I was making a point. It travels by ship across the ocean packed in plastic bottles (this was a plastic Fiji bottle) and by the time it is sold it has been exposed to heat and for who knows how long. Knowing about hormones and other chemicals that have probably leached into that water make it very questionable to me and I wouldn't drink it.
Is it at all possible to filter the Essentia water with the Alkaline Plus PH Pitcher (In such it way that the pH level will be greater than it's default level of 9)? Thank You!
In addition, can you tell me which product does THE ABSOLUTE BEST at filtering out ALL fluoride? The reason I ask is because I noticed that the Alkaline Plus PH Ionizers' product description states that it features "A slow flow through active carbon filters the water nicely removing chlorine, heavy metals, organic impurities, odor and many other chemicals, such as SOME fluoride. But it ISN'T RATED TO REMOVE ALL FLUORIDE" I considered purchasing the Ultra Filter, but it got discontinued? Is there any way that I can filter out ALL fluoride and still get water with a pH Level of 9.5? Thank You
Yes, the pitcher can raise the already high pH to a little higher. With fluoride, it is one of the hardest elements to remove from water, because it's so tiny. It is next to oxygen on the periodic table. Fluoride filters have media in them that attract the fluoride and cause it to bond ...then trapping them in the filter. Water ionizers remove fluoride, because fluoride is acidic. The most consistent and reliable method of removing fluoride I have found is a water ionizer that has a fluoride filter in it. www.alkalinewaterplus.com/blog/water-ionizers-remove-fluoride/
Thank you so much for this video! Very informative. I was buying Fiji water thinking it was the best lol We're making the change tomorrow! Thats for sure. You're appreciated!
The color will be the same regardless of exactness in water volume. It may appear lighter but as long as it's not too light to see it can be read accurately.
Oh and thank u so much for the video I showed my mom and she said she will buy the filter that was 9.5 and we really appreciate and love that u took all the money and time to help others make sure they're getting the right water in their system
You can't pour the colored water [with reagent in it] through the filter, but I have tried putting the more acidic water through the filters, such as distilled and RO bottled water brands, and in every case the water came out alkaline...usually between 8.5 and 9.5 pH
Thank u so much for this video I feel terribly upset that the government is allowing these companies to sell these nasty waters. The one that really gets me really mad is the baby water I have sent this video to all my family members. Can u tell me the name of that pitcher please. again thank u so much for sharing this information.
I checked my Spring water after watching and found it was a 5.8. Ouch. And found my tap water was a 6.4. At the grocery and picked up Ice Mountain Spring Water, it tested out at 7.2 with litmus paper. Glad you made the video.
It is definitely better than soda. However it's not at all better than if you filtered your own tap water. You can get better filtration yourself than any bottling company can provide and in addition the storage of water over a long period necessitates extra processing of the water and at the same time subjects the water to leaching the chemicals from the plastics it's stored in. To top it off we are littering our planet with bottles by the billions and as a culture we should try to find ways to cut down wherever possible.
Steven Bell Where do you live? You may be getting heavy metals from your water pipes. It's good to filter the chlorine out of the tap water [along with heavy metals and chemicals], but these things are not hard to filter out and a lot cheaper than the cost of bottled water. For instance, with the PureEasy system you can filter chlorine, heavy metals, chemicals [and even Fluoride if you want] for about 3 cents per gallon. Fresh-filtered water is far better than water stored in bottles...even if it is spring water.
"i'll probably just end up throwing it all away.." just bothers me. Whether it's absolutely 100% perfect or not, it IS drinkable (and even for the pickiest of people, usable in SOME way at the very least) and there are a lot of people in the world who don't have the luxury of having clean water - let alone doing experiments with it only to throw it out after. I appreciate the info. and the science of this, but this is pretty much a "first world problem" and wasting that much water is incredibly irresponsible. It's too wasteful. No offense meant, I just think there were probably better options for using it responsibly than just tossing the unused portion out.
I agree with being responsible for our planet. There are plenty of uses for the acidic water which comes out of the bottom hose...watering plants, beauty water, skin/hair, laundry, softening the bath water, etc. www.alkalinewaterplus.com/water-ionizer-use/
+Cathleen LoGrasso (AlkalineWaterPlus) filtering water alone doesn't change the acidity. If it's not ionized, alkaline and microclustered, it's damaging your body.
I think it's the towel underneath, because smart water is still distilled water, and even looking at other tests, it comes up more of a yellow-green (but not orange) than a dark green like a neutral pH would be. I think with it's added minerals (like potassium bicarbonate which is alkaline) that's probably giving it that added step of being a yellow-green than a straight yellow or an orange.
Sxlvny Thank you. Some of the colors changed right after I called it. The video is here for you to determine for yourself. The actual correct reading is taken within only a few seconds of mixing the drops into the water.
Wal-Mart distilled water is poison. I drink distilled water and when I went to Texas I bought distilled water from wally world, took one drink than spit it out and almost threw up.
ikr, even the jug doesn't smell right. it smells like rotten ham and it taste really gross like there's milk or starch in there. worst water in the world
what to believe! I have been trying to avoid fluoride and drink healthier water so I have been drinking Penta for the past week. Acidity has not been on my radar really. I've been watching tons of health videos and sights that say DISTILLED water is the only safe water to drink. You can't tell me that tap water that is so heavily fluoridated across the U.S. is safe to drink just because it's more alkaline. Yeah, we've been drinking it for years, we've also been getting sicker... and supposedly dumber. I'm not looking to argue with anyone. Will appreciate a reply. But I'm just so frustrated. Spend enough time on youtube and you will never drink or eat another thing in your life.
4lfclvr67 Distilled and Reverse Osmosis water used to be considered the best filtration, but the problem with both is that all the healthy minerals are removed from the water. Dissolved calcium, magnesium, potassium and many trace minerals in water are a good source of electrolytes and other important minerals. Not only that, but water which is completely void of all minerals will leach minerals from pipes, containers and even bones and joints as it circulates through your body. Regarding Fluoride: Municipalities used to put up to 4 parts per million of fuoride in the water. Now it's much less, because EPA regulations are limiting fluoride to 1 part per million. There are other filters that will remove fluoride, lead, radon, uranium, chromium 6, etc. from water without removing the beneficial minerals. I suggest those, rather than the extreme filtration of RO and distillation.
Thank you for taking the time to do this video this information was so helpful! I have been wondering lately about how acidic the bottled waters really are at least I know now which ones to avoid, thank you!
When looking at the different brands of water that you tested sure raises awareness as to what we put in our bodies. You make a good red flag about when buying water in these stores that you do not know how long those plastic bottles been left out there along with recycling. filtered water is the best way to go as you have stated. I been research on the best filtered water bottles brands and other countries that's been using filter to better their water. I am writing a dissertation on is the water that we drink from stores is safe for our bodies ?This was quite educational indeed. Thanks for the upload Cathleen LoGrasso I can not wait to see more you your experiments and testing. Keep up the good work.
I choose my water by taste, and apparently the orange tinted ones taste the best to me. I like walmart water and deer park and aquafina. Most of the other waters taste bad to me. I have found that food lions water machine in front of there store has a great taste for 1.50 per 5 gallons. My home water is triple filtered, then ran through a brita picture filter and I still think it tastes nasty.
These people drive me crazy. BPA is not proven to be harmful whether the bottles are BPA free or not. Plastic also doesn't leach into bottles at room temperature. So bottles that have been sitting on a shelf for 6 months are perfectly safe to drink. Bottled water also has a shelf life of 2 years. How do I know this? Well have you ever tasted "stale" water?
Not all bottles [at all] are stored at room temperature. Just the other day I saw stacks and stacks of bottles standing out in front of a store [right in the sun]. Granted most store owners wouldn't do that, but there are no guarantees on the bottles as to where or how they are stored between pouring and stocking on the store shelf.
+Samuel T. White Bottled water is better than bottled soda, yes, but I think most people know they're consuming "Junk Food" when they drink soda. On the other hand they usually buy water because they think it's healthy.
Theresa Forger Just skip the video until the end... she is making sure is legit. Lots of video on YT people already have all on the table set. But how do u know is the truth?
she was even nice enough to list times in the description. and personally, I don't mind watching a 15 minute video to find out what I'm giving my child to drink. thanks for the informative video.
Then people would question the validity of the water. She should pour each water first and then infuse drops all at once. That way we can see her actions & speed it up.
Thank you for this video! I am shocked...I am 40 with horrible joint and arthritis pain. I drink between 200-300 ounces of water daily. I am going to test my tap water and the bottled water I drink.
I've been drinking Aquafina everyday, like 3 bottles to try to get my 8 glasses of water. when all I've been doing was poison my body with all that acid. I feel so mislead. I want to know if I buy the water bottle with the built in Brita filtration and fill it with tap water, will that be enough to make my water alkaline? I love drinking water and I also have at least 2 botlles with me at work everyday. I live in CT. Thank you.
The Britta filter won't alkalize your tap water, but it will filter it. Whatever pH your tap is... it will stay that. This pitcher will improve the alkalinity up to about 9 or 9.5 pH in most cases. www.alkalinewaterplus.com/our-products/alkaline-plus-ph-ionizer-pitcher-by-wellblue and it also adds beneficial antioxidants.
wow. this is amazing. we have spend oodles of $$ getting water delivered - distilled. i hate that it's in those big plastic jugs and am very anti-small plastic bottles b/c of environmental impact. This video was beyond enlightening. i'm buying that filter today!! Thanks so much for this!
omg... i feel bad drinking those acidic bottled water.. :( thank you for this helpful video.. maybe this causing my joint pains and im 27yold. and i always drink bottled water everyday... :(
I have been giving my dog filtered water for years while I have been drinking nestle pure life. My dog has been drinking healthier water than me!
nestles has some clorline in it I stopped drinking it and started drinking primo water.

Disagree. Otherwise the Aquafina would also look green next to it. Smart Water turned green, even as she was putting it down...

What about Deerpark water?
Great, informative video!! Can you please do another one where you test the PHs of different brands of Beer and Liquor?!

my kids especially drink a ton of water from tap to bottled I never heard of this and I am now so thankful I stumbled across your video!!! thank you
can you please try on rain water before before it hits the ground
You didn't really wait for the true colors to appear, after you made your conclusion the colors often changed. Other than that very good information. What pH indicator did you use? Could you send me a link to where I can buy one?
in Sweden we already have ph of 8.1 straight from the tap :D
+Nicki Soedjiman The pH of your water depends on your water source. In the St. Louis area the pH comes in at around 9 pH. However in many areas the pH of the tap water is around 7.
Thank youuuuuuu so much! Virtue restored back to you love! xo
Fiji and Smart water is my favorite
thank you for taking the time to do this video. greetings from California!
Why did you call the Figi water garbage when the color indicates it's neutral?
I was making a point. It travels by ship across the ocean packed in plastic bottles (this was a plastic Fiji bottle) and by the time it is sold it has been exposed to heat and for who knows how long. Knowing about hormones and other chemicals that have probably leached into that water make it very questionable to me and I wouldn't drink it.
AlkalineWaterPlus so water from plastic is bad what about glass water
As far as I know glass is fine for healthy storage of water. There becomes another problem when glass also ends up trashing our planet.
you can say that about all waters it sit for very long periods
before being consumed
Right. Except ocean freight gets exposed to some pretty hot temperatures, especially in the equatorial routes.
Thanks so much for putting the exact numbers down in your description box!!!
where can I get that ph test thing? I want to test my tab water
It's called reagent. Here's a link: www.alkalinewaterplus.com/accessories-other-products/ph-reagent-testing-kit

Wow no wonder why I disliked Aquafina and Dasani so much, taste like metal........wow
Most sites I see are saying that Nestle's pure life has a ph of 7.3 (which is neutral not acidic) and I do believe them more in my opinion
Thank u so much for this video I feel terribly
upset that the government is allowing these companies to sell these nasty waters. The one that really gets me really mad is the baby water I have sent this video to all my family members. Can u tell me the name of that pitcher please. again thank u so much for sharing this information.
I agree with you.
I checked my Spring water after watching and found it was a 5.8. Ouch. And found my tap water was a 6.4. At the grocery and picked up Ice Mountain Spring Water, it tested out at 7.2 with litmus paper. Glad you made the video.
Thanks
I HAVE drank bottled water for 15 years,,,lol... sad thing is that its still better than tap water and soda
Cathleen LoGrasso Is the Brita filter any good?
Shannon S, think of the tens of thousands of empty plastic bottles you’re added to environment!
this was great.. thank you! I saw another video but he had slightly different results but yours is more comprehensive
I tested aqua hydrate with your ph reagent test kit and it's pH9+ as advertised thanks Cathy :)
so what WATER CAN I DRINK!?!! .......im so thirsty and scare to drink any water....
:(
Adolphis Brown quench your thirst with what ever water you want for now and then maybe if you want, buy a filter?
Athecubus Water is the best thing to drink. Just learn how to filter it.
+Cathleen LoGrasso (AlkalineWaterPlus) filtering water alone doesn't change the acidity. If it's not ionized, alkaline and microclustered, it's damaging your body.
Just drink sodaaa mannnn ;));););););))
+Aline Huang sodas gross
I am so glad you did this video! I always heard we had good tap water here in STL. Now I see the proof!
That smart water looked green not orange
I think it's the towel underneath, because smart water is still distilled water, and even looking at other tests, it comes up more of a yellow-green (but not orange) than a dark green like a neutral pH would be. I think with it's added minerals (like potassium bicarbonate which is alkaline) that's probably giving it that added step of being a yellow-green than a straight yellow or an orange.
Sxlvny Thank you. Some of the colors changed right after I called it. The video is here for you to determine for yourself. The actual correct reading is taken within only a few seconds of mixing the drops into the water.
this is why i pour my water in a glass and add a fresh lemon squeezed = yumm healthy water !
Wal-Mart distilled water is poison. I drink distilled water and when I went to Texas I bought distilled water from wally world, took one drink than spit it out and almost threw up.
ikr, even the jug doesn't smell right. it smells like rotten ham and it taste really gross like there's milk or starch in there. worst water in the world
You're not suppose to drink distilled water, silly
Thankyou for ur time , effort, and spreading KNOW LEGE
what to believe!
Wow I think my dad used to buy Nestle Pure Life ... I think that's why I got headaches when I drank it
Thank you for making this video, in some other ph video fiji resulted as alkaline but now I'm doubting that from this testing.
The Walmart water is Better then I expected. Gonna keep buying it since its like 3 dollars for a 24 pack
lobso123 which one in Walmart
Walmart Spring Water
When looking at the different brands of water that you tested sure raises awareness as to what we put in our bodies. You make a good red flag about when buying water in these stores that you do not know how long those plastic bottles been left out there along with recycling. filtered water is the best way to go as you have stated. I been research on the best filtered water bottles brands and other countries that's been using filter to better their water. I am writing a dissertation on is the water that we drink from stores is safe for our bodies ?This was quite educational indeed. Thanks for the upload Cathleen LoGrasso I can not wait to see more you your experiments and testing. Keep up the good work.
essentia bottles say bpa free
I choose my water by taste, and apparently the orange tinted ones taste the best to me. I like walmart water and deer park and aquafina. Most of the other waters taste bad to me. I have found that food lions water machine in front of there store has a great taste for 1.50 per 5 gallons. My home water is triple filtered, then ran through a brita picture filter and I still think it tastes nasty.
Oh wow thanks I didn't know the spring water from wal mart is safer to drink than their so labeled "drinking water!" I think I'll exchange it LOL
Thank you, AlkalineWaterPlus, for this post.
no deer park
+Bradley Poole im sure it would be the worst one
+Bradley Poole made by NESTLE
+Bradley Poole ...Deer Park is about 6.3 pH
Cathleen LoGrasso Exactly. And lots of wharehouses are very warm.
Is it better than coke?
coke is like 6.5
+Landon Norris 5.5 I mean
+Landon Norris Coke in a can is 3.5 pH and from the fountain varies from 4 to 6 pH
+Samuel T. White Bottled water is better than bottled soda, yes, but I think most people know they're consuming "Junk Food" when they drink soda. On the other hand they usually buy water because they think it's healthy.
Coke is HORRIBLE for you
Thank you for making this video. I just subscribed.
so is evian healthy?
Yep it's neutral
in a plastic bottle w/bpa.
I mostly drink nestle pure life, however on most occasions I get a pack of Fiji or a bottle of Evian
get the water ready first, video is too long
Theresa Forger Just skip the video until the end... she is making sure is legit.
That way we can see her actions & speed it up.
terry, make your own video then and lets see how well you do ! smh
Theresa Forger I just fast forwarded.
Thanks for your videos! You have changed another human's life!
Peace and blessings Cathleen LoGrasso I really appreciate this video link. Continue the good work...
OMG. I just realized I was putting the worst water into my body. Worse than that, my child as well. Thank you soo much for opening my eyes...
omg... i feel bad drinking those acidic bottled water.. :( thank you for this helpful video.. maybe this causing my joint pains and im 27yold. and i always drink bottled water everyday... :(
wow...you just sold me on filtered water. I was rooting for essentia and penta. WOWZER.
