  • Another day another game comes to be judged thusly by the Royal Court. SunnySide is half farming sim half dating sim. But really it's a farming/slice of life simulation game. Is it worth our time and precious coin? Let's find out together!

Great review. So what Im getting is that this should had been a e.a instead of a full release. So should we get it now or wait thill later?

Honestly despite it being unstable it never crashed on me. I mean I played it unperturbed until it was time to make my video.
It's a little annoying but for me at least it wasn't unbearable. IMO if you have 30 bucks to spare and you really really wanna play a new game then sure go right ahead. but if you don't mind waiting or if glitchy games kinda annoy you or if you can't really spare the 30 right now, then just wait on it.
      I hope I helped

So, all of your good points about the game, I agree with.
All of your negative ones...eh.... not so much! (but what follows is also just thoughts I am having...)
    - Frame rates/lag: I experienced 0 frame drops, 0 lag, 0 characters popping in and out of existence. I have a REALLY high spec self-built rig though.... So yea, sure, temper your expectations if you don't have an absolutely amazing computer. I have heard that turning off vsync & turning shadows all the way down help a lot.
    - The art style: I think the game is GORGEOUS! My head was on a swivel checking it out. My other favourite game is My Time at Sandrock, and it's beautiful too. I hated the way that My Time at Portia looked... that game is ugly AF and actually kept me from getting into the game. SunnySide has northern lights! Loads of awesome waterfalls. You can see fish swimming around in the water. But we all have different art tastes, so I suppose you not liking the art style is... valid...
    - Sure, I can see your point on it missing some world sounds.... to be honest though, I'm too busy bopping to the amazing music to care. lol
    - There is a learning curve. I played the demo twice (before the demo update came out), and then for 10 hours today on launch. I got better at the early game each time I played.
    - If you're not sure what you're supposed to be doing in game... check your phone more. There's a journal. Change the pinned quest on your screen. Soon you will be swamped and grateful there are no time limits. lol
    - The cooking system is unique and complex (though I haven't gotten to that part yet).... and you don't have to cook if you don't want to. Buy ramen at GotNoodz and coffee from a vending machine. You'll have more energy than you know what to do with.
All in all, good review. Thanks for checking out SunnySide!
