Whether or not this works for you, it's great to see different approaches to the game. No one says anything when a new wacky grip or technique appears on the putting green so why not have some alternatives to try out for your main swing.

    Wow
Whether this works or not. Your explanation is absolutely outstanding.
Do not leave a leaf unturned.
I love it when people are able to articulate clear, and I mean very clear instruction
You knocked it out of the park
Just like any successful recipe….. It is the small difference between mediocre and success
I can’t wait to try this. I took the bowl very straight with a normal conventional grip!! I am a four handicap, but a good day, but always looking to improve

While sitting here in New Hampshire watching golf AND a foot-and-half of ❄️ fall in my yard, I ran across your post. Immediately grabbed a club and started experimenting with the grip. Just to get the feel, I started with a putter…At 79 yrs old I’m not sure this old dog can make the transition to the full swing (will give it honest try when the weather improves). Definitely will be using the grip for putting after sinking 8 of 10 putts from the 8’ foot marker of my DJ Perfect Putting mat.

I remember a kid on the PGA mini tour who gripped the club like this and smoked the ball. I tried it but I felt like I was going to break my wrist but it looks quite natural when you do it.

I hit balls daily. I’m cutting The grass this weekend and I’ll try to hit some balls with it Monday. Like a standard golf grip it feels different in the beginning. Obviously it’ll take a little time for the body to loosen up to it. The more grass I cut the easier it is to swing with it. I keep an open mind about things. You can really feel the club release with it.

Scotty Thanks for sharing this with the world. I would like to see you on a golf simulator to see the numbers(ie swing speed, ball speed, attack angle, swing path numbers etc). As I approach 60 the walk to my ball gets shorter and shorter. I’m taking my first golf lessons from a teaching pro now, have self taught until now, just a hacker getting by for 40 years playing boogie golf. My lower back is sore and I struggle with the flexibility necessary. It is great to see someone come up with something different that doesn’t look like I need to over turn my pelvis and twist my lower back. Thanks again!

I was ready to quit due to back pain but I learned the SPS from Graves Golf and now, at 70, I play to a 6 hdcp on a 6300 yd. course. The grip is different as well with an ultra weak lead hand and an ultra-strong but non-rotational trail hand. Just like Moe Norman, the ball flies straight and on target.

Even if you don't play with this grip, it's actually a really good drill for releasing and rolling the wrists over, which will increase the whip through the ball and in turn the club head speed through impact. Effortless whip through the ball hopefully.

Çrazy thing i was able to get to parallel for the first time, i always played good golf with a control 3quarter swing like henry cotton and have really good distance but im gonna try the sarazen grip minus his interlock and see.

I love seeing different approaches to the game of golf. I have never understood why they try to teach the same swing or grip to everyone as everyone is different and moves differently.
Also, regarding the grip that goes on the club. Do you think a 'reverse taper' grip would work well?? Like the ones Feel Grips sell?

Agree with some of the comments.....always good to see a different way to do something. I just don't believe it is anatomically correct or natural. If something in the swing causes one to feel stress or pain, that can't be good. I get your concept and why you do it, but it doesn't make sense when it limits rotation of the lead arm and causes discomfort. Good luck though!

Hurts during and afterwards--no way I could do this and enjoy swinging clubs/playing a round. Happy it works for some--my wrists weren't meant to bend this way--without breaking. Would you hammer a nail this way? Good luck with the full grip concept. Might work for some as a chipping technique--I guess... way you began... a few years ago.

Your golf swing is really simple, and should be emulated by most amateurs. It looks very similar to what I try to teach all of my senior clients.
In looking through this grip video, its a little strange, and it could hurt someone if they aren't really careful, but the point of this is there is no way to turn the hands over until after impact, if at all.
Its the same with the forward press; this actually forces a forward press. With that hand in that position there is no way to twist the club (micro adjustments) at impact. So the 'feel' this provides would be useful, but again, could also be harmful if done wrong.
Your golf swing in general, and your demo shots, have a great slot, due to the abbreviated back swing; stopping at the down the line prevents the over the top move as a first impatient move to the ball. And by finding that slot point, you control the club path with your takeaway / return which is a great way for people to control their shape as long as they can slow the turn over of the hands. I am going to sub just to see where this goes. Its interesting. it is something I may show someone on the range to show how the face rotates if your hands aren't in front. Its the super exaggeration to forward shaft lean. I am not convinced people should attempt to swing like this, just go through the motion to 'feel' how the hands should 'actively prevent' turnover.

It isn’t for everyone. Scotty and his teachers through the years have had less than 10% of ppl who couldn’t use the grip. IMO 80% or even more ppl not only can do it…but will improve their current game drastically. I’ve played with it my whole life and it’s been stripe city through the years. Science proves it. It’s another way to golf. And it makes the game a whole lot easier. It is crazy when you first see it but when you break down the golf swing with it ..it makes so much sense !!

Cut 50 strokes off your score. What was your handicap? Add 200 yards off the drive. What is your driver distance now? What is your driver swing speed? I can calculate from there.
