- This journal was a bit of a challenge, because the paper surface has changed and I had to search for a medium that I liked on it! I powered on through, though, and reached the end satisfied.
Cathy, I have been a fan of yours from the first time I saw one of your videos. You create such intimacy with your viewers and your subjects are so unassuming , humble, even, that we feel we can do it as easily as you do. (wrong). You have the 4 connections: eye, brain, hand and heart. Thank you for the hours of delight from your lessons online and from your book Painting Nature.❤

You persevered and I learned so much from all the things you tried, what I like best though is making a gratitude list. I am thankful for so many things, one is the joy watercolor painting has brought me ( I am a late learner, began in my 60’s a little over two years ago). Before I took photos of my favorite places & things (flowers), now my eyes and senses are awake to being there, enjoying the moment as I sketch and paint.

I gave up on the new Fabriano HP. Why do manufacturers keep changing papers for the worse, Moleskine watercolour book is another. Grr.
