    Don’t oil your glock like this video shows. Read the manual. Don’t pour oil into the grip. It’s 3 2 1. It’s 3 drops of oil on the slide, 2 on the barrel and 1 in the grip.

      Correct. It's a pistol not a 🥗. Glocks do not need a lot of CLP or oil. Just a few dabs in areas that rub together. A drop or 2 in the lower, trigger area. Some say run some CLP down the rails. ✅️. For Glock barrels get a Otis ripcord or bore cleaner. Run a few drops of CLP or Hoppes 9 then clean it out. That's it. Glock mags can be taken apart too but it's not needed all the time.

    You should really take this video down. At first I thought maybe this was a joke, but im not so sure. someone that doesn't know better might see this and think that's how you actually clean a glock or any pistol for that matter .

    Clean your Glock 19 in 3 easy steps:
    1. DISREGARD THIS VIDEO.
    2. READ THE MANUAL THAT CAME IN THE BOX.
    3. FOLLOW THE PROCEDURE FROM THE MANUAL.
    It's just that easy.

    According to the manual, you should first lube the patch before running it through the barrel. Followed by lubed bristle, followed by another wet patch, followed by a clear patch. Also, objects are pushed through the barrel in one direction only - forward and most definitely not reversing direction in the middle of it.

    • @waholoopesorry74
      @waholoopesorry74 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      False, you can pull it back through the barrel as long as you entered on the chamber side. You don’t want to enter through the muzzle end so you don’t hit the crown of the barrel

    I cleaned and lubed my gen 5 Glock 22 when i first purchased it and I don’t plan on cleaning it again until I’ve reached 1000 rounds. After about 500 rounds I may add some more lube but that’s about it. I don’t see the purpose of doing maintenance on a glock with less than 500 -1000 rounds ran through it.

    This is so wrong. A glock is a “dry” gun. One drop in the upper slide area. One drop on the barrel, one drop where the locking block catches the barrel, one drop down your rails. Some loc tite ca-5 I believe it is in your trigger housing where the hinge point is. Too much oil is very bad for a glock. All that oil down in your trigger housing is just bad. And why the hell are you oiling your guide rod? You need to do some reading up on how to properly lubricate a glock. Because that ain’t it.

    Quick and simple. First time i cleaned my glock I was over thinking it and too worried about messing something up ..
    All you really need to know is where the important lube points are ( since glock does not require much lubrication ) and where NOT! To put any lube.
    IF you you are storing it for a long time then leave the bore oiled and lube the outside of the slide with a light coat to protect against corrosion . Then when planning to shoot again (and Before shooting again) the bore should be cleaned and wiped clear of any oil. If you plan on shooting often , then I would clean after about 500 rounds.

    • @buckfutter99
      @buckfutter99 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you fire it. Clean it completely when your done. Field strip and light clean it every time you take it off after a day of carry. Or clean it in the morning before you put it on. I carry a g43 and it gets broke down and brushed out daily. It and g19x both get shot weekly. I completely tear them down and clean them after. It may seem excessive but built up changes the shooting characteristics. Plus you get well versed in all of its operating parts and can inspect them. All tools will break. Keep them clean at all times and they last longer.
