When my wife divorced me under "No Fault" the courts awarded her nearly $250,000 from me in the five years she received money from me even though she had a job of her own. Twenty years later, she moved back into her mother's house with her sister (who is also apparently divorced) and has wasted all of that.
She stole years of my life. Nobody was concerned about the cost to me.

Yep. Things like spouses being unfaithful will now play a larger role in determining alimony too and it can even be amended or removed if the women takes a partner who makes good money, or they get a high paying job etc. Women just need to stay single or learn that you can’t get married for 7 years then leave and expect to live on the husbands welfare for life. It’s ridiculous. Most of the time they’re likely not going to get much if the marriage wasn’t “long” which is pretty much any under 17 years or so. I hope the remaining states axe this crazy permanent alimony too.

My wife was a stay at home mom for 16 years, went back to school, got a degree, and entered the workplace a year and a half later making a great wage. If they want to leave and divorce, they can work a small job and tighten the belt for a year and a half while they get the degree and go back to work. There is no possible rationalization for lifetime alimony. There shouldn’t be alimony at all.

@joebalusikiii5811 yup. That, or they constantly pick, peck, and poke at him until he actually becomes dangerous. Ladies, we know you prefer the bear, but picking a fight with a man is also, "poking the bear".
I'm not a violent man, but I've been driven to a point of wanting to let my rage out violently, as a result of a woman purposely instigating and manipulating to get me as angry and hurt as possible.
If I were a more impulsive man, I might have snapped.
I've seen women do it to their men....constant harassment until he loses his temper, then it's, "see how angry and violent he is!"
I've seen studies that show, if emotional.abuse were included, women would by far be the most abusive sex. They already abuse children more than men. In almost all DV cases, either both parties are violent, or it's just the woman. There's a very small percentage of men who abuse women, who aren't also being attacked by their woman.

I think alimony can be justified in cases where a spouse had to sacrifice the time to learn or develop a skill or a career... BUT even then, there has to be a defined period like a function of the time married and/or how long it would take to learn a skill or remarry e.g four years to acquire a degree and whether the person has acquired a skill or not, alimony ends.

A cut-off point for alimony of, say, 12 months (if the judge determined that the woman was entitled to it - ie she had no income of her own, nobody else was providing for her and she was not divorced through her own misdeeds) would give women time to ease themselves back into the workforce and give a man the assurance that, after that time has passed, he could rebuild his life with nobody leeching off him.
