Your daughter’s dress fits so perfectly❤. Wonderful that she loves it and wants more. So gratifying to sew for others when it is obviously appreciated.
Thank you so much Gloria🥰🥰💞💞
It turned out so beautifully and I LOVE how excited she is about it
Thank you Erin😊. She liked it so much that I was allowed to snap some photos 👏👏👏. Now I need to get going on the next ones.
Have a wonderful weekend 🥰🥰💞💞
Your daughter's dres is CUTE! She obviously loves it already, but what a great fit! Woo-hoo! Nice work, Momma.
Thank you so much 😊, she’s wearing the dress already!!
Have a great sewing weekend 🥰🥰💕💕
Oh my goodness, Karen. That dress is absolutely adorable! I love the fabric and it looks great on your daughter. Tell her she looks great in it. You did such a great job on the fitting and the finishing.
Thank you so much Carol😊. I will give her your compliment 😉😉. Sewing with cotton is so nice, it behaves so well and the finishing goes well 👍👍. Happy sewing 🧵 🪡, see you tomorrow 🥰🥰💕💕
Your classic T fits like a glove, and I totally understand why you love it. Oh my goodness, your daughter looks awesome in that dress. Her fabric choices are so cute-they give vintage vibes. It was so nice to spend time with you.
Thank you so much 😊. My daughter chose the fabrics with the intention of color blocking, and it turned out great 👍. Have a wonderful sewing weekend 🥰🥰💞💞
Such a lovely dress you made for your daughter. Looks good on her.
Thank you so much Odetta🥰🥰💕💕
It’s such a good feeling when you make something for someone and they really like it! Nice job on that dress❤
Thank you so much Renee🥰🥰💕💕
Such a lovely dress! Looks like you’re going to be busy for the next little while. Lucky daughter!
Thank you so much Jane🥰🥰💞💞
You're such a joy to watch! Thank you for sharing your makes, such inspiration.
Thank you so much Lyn for your kind words 🥰🥰💞💞
Your daughter's dress is beautiful and fabrics picked out for the next dresses gorgeous.❤
Thank you so much Zelda🥰🥰💕💕
Well done it so lovely your daughter is very happy the dress is made for twirling 😊😊
Thank you Robyn😊. She is really happy indeed.
Have a wonderful weekend 🥰🥰💕💕
Hi Karen, I always make a muslin when there are princess seams. Your daughter's dress came out PERFECT! Great fit. I love the shirring too! 🥰🥰💝💝
Thank you so much Grace😊. Making a muslin is tedious but necessary (sometimes 😉). Have a great rest of the week 🥰🥰💞💞
You did such a great job with your daughter’s dress - the fit is pretty spot on!! Have a good weekend! Xx
Thank you so much Izzy😊. You too have a great weekend 🥰🥰💞💞
Thank you girl for the twirl! You are a great mom….turned out beautifully. You can see the workmanship (in everything you sew). ❤ For the shirring, Karina at “Lifting Pins & Needles” used a piece of athletic knit fabric. That works well if you don’t want to do shirring. The pockets would be perfect lined up with the princess seams…not sure if it would work. Lucky girl - more beautiful dresses from mom.
Thank you so much Deb for your kind words 😊. Adding a stretch knit is also a great idea, and would save me time with all that shirring 👍, but I would have to match the colors somehow 🤣🤣. Hopefully I will finish the blue/beige dress this weekend 😉😉.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend 🥰🥰💕💕
Hi Karen, I am so happy for you and your daughter - what a lovely dress 😊. Well done you. The dress fits perfectly. I like your idea of sewing the placket down and just having the buttons for show. I presume this was possible due to the shirring in the back (plus the extra fabric in the back of the skirt). Oh no about your serger - what a shame. I presume you have changed the needle as often it is just something simple. Sergers give such a lovely finish and it is hard to imagine how we managed without them before. I am looking forward to seeing your new Rhapsody - I plan to start on another Rhapsody tomorrow. Happy sewing. 🌸xx
Thank you so much Julie😊. Yes, I was able to close the front placket only because of the back shirring panel. And, she told me that is easy to put on and off👍. I have changed the needle once, perhaps I need to do it more often. But, there’s no way to clean the inside with the tiniest brush that came with the machine. I know I will survive without my machine, but I am sad to part with it for a week or so🙁🙁.
Happy sewing 🧵 and see you tomorrow 🥰🥰💕💕
That dress looks great on your daughter ❤ I can see why she wants more lol😅
Thank you so much Stephanie😊. I better get going on making these dresses for her 🤣🤣🤣.
Have a wonderful weekend 🥰🥰💕💕
Karen, beautiful dress looks like fun. If you can twirl in a dress, it's fun 👏 great color for Fall also. The serger may need 3 things ... deep cleaning, oiling loops renewal, or just get a new one 😊
Thank you so much Sofia 😊. Hopefully it won’t be too bad, as I don’t have a new serger on my budget 🥴🥴.
Have a great rest of the week 🥰🥰💞💞
It would be interesting to see the darker fabric for the sides and pockets. You know to see what illusion it gives the body shape. I’m thinking if you put the dark on the sides it would be slimming. Love the dress! Tell your daughter she is so blessed with you as a mom.❤❤❤
Hi Kaye😊. I will give your message to my daughter 🙌🏼, thank you 😊. Very interesting take on the dark fabric for the side and pockets, I wonder if it would look good. I will ask her if she wants to switch it around. Happy sewing 🧵 , see you tomorrow 🥰🥰💞💞
I used to zigzag all of my seams when I didn't have a serger, it worked well.
Hi Pamela😊. I know I am spoiled by my serger🤣🤣🤣. I have not tried doing zigzag on the seams, but I should try and see how it goes, right?
Have a wonderful sewing weekend 🥰🥰💕💕
Hope you're safe from Helene. Dress is beautiful. Great fitting on your daughter. That's a great job. Have you changed your needles on your serger lately? That could be the problem....Hope it's nothing serious.
Hi Diane😊, we’re safe here in SE Florida, thank you. But, the people on the west coast and Panhandle were not that lucky 😓😓. I changed the needle a couple of months ago, didn’t think of that. I just dropped the machine at the place, so hopefully it will be done/cleaned by next Saturday, which is the only day I can get to the store. The store closes at five during the week, so working people can’t get there until the weekend 🥴.
Have a great sewing weekend 🥰🥰💞💞
Beautiful dress! Could your blades need changing on the serger? I had to change my right needle on my serger a few weeks ago because the thread from that needle would not chain. I changed it and I did the trick! Have a good weekend and stay safe from the storm! 🥰
Thank you Nancy😊. I changed my blades not long ago. I just dropped the machine at the shop, hopefully it will be ready for pick up by next Saturday, which is the only day I can get to the store. They close by five on weekdays and I am still at work by then 🥴🥴. Have a wonderful sewing weekend🥰🥰💞💞
When you added inches to the skirt, did that throw off the pocket placement ratio?
Hi Helen, I don’t believe so, as I only added inches to the back piece. The side & front seams stayed the same.
Happy sewing 🥰🥰💞💞
You likely have finishing stitches on your sewing machine, if only a zigzag.
Hi Helen😊, I am sure the zigzag will do good 👍.
Have a great sewing weekend 🥰🥰💞💞
