(I know this is a year late!!) But congrats on 1st sundowner + anchorage. It is such a great perspective to witness your first few experiences on the boat while awaiting for your new videos weekly. I truely enjoy watching how well you are working together as a couple and captain/1st mate- inspiring! Thanks
Yes that’s a pretty open anchorage especially for your first anchor out. Nice job though. Look at prevailing wind, current over night before anchoring and try to put yourself behind a shoreline or something that will protect you from wind and fetch.

When you anchor the moment the anchor hits the water are before put it in reverse when the boat start moving to the rear put it neutral after the line is out set the hook.never drop the hook going foward never
We did try Astro-turf, but it was just the typical Home Depot variety, and it hasn’t worked for us.. Do you recommend any specific type of grassmat? As of now we’ve tried fake grass, rope, other dog’s business, her business, pheromone spray, pee pads - all to no avail 😞
