    I love this wheel. I recently passed 800km with no issues. It's super maneuverable and can still keep up with 84v Gotways while on group rides. If you are deciding between the Nikola and the 16x I couldn't recommend the 16x enough.

    Nice! BTW, have you noticed that the LEDs housing is not sealed and they fill up will dust/dirt. Where I ride the trails are more dusty than muddy, so lots of dirt is accumulating and covering the LED's.

    I did a mud ride with the 16x and later took the wheel off to clean, If you shine a light up into it and really see whats caked up inside you will want to take the wheel off to clean!!! So much is in there you can't see., I totally recommend taking the wheel off after a mud ride. There is an exposed heat sink in the top inside that mud cakes up on. Take the wheel off you'll be glad you did.

    • @ElectricUnicycles
      @ElectricUnicycles 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Keep in mind that even if there is a lot mud caked up inside the heat-sink area, if the wheel still rides and there are no heat issues (overheating), then it's really a non-issue. Removing a wheel (a major EUC operation) just to clean out mud that isn't affecting the ride is a draconian measure, in my book. Don't fix what's not broken :-)

    • @Born2Ride108
      @Born2Ride108 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      ElectricUnicycles Thing is you can’t say for sure what’s going on with all that mud in there if you haven’t taken the wheel off. And as far as safety goes on and EUC personally I want everything running in 100% condition. I don’t like allowing any room for errors that could cause any issues while I ride.

    My local group seems to really have a problem with this wheel (none of them have it, but claim they did not like it when they rode it) I've been debating it bc the trolley handle, range, and looks. Did you experience the gyro affect with it? That and the speed throttling turn me off from it.

    • @AzizIzgin
      @AzizIzgin 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Bailey Williford Hi, where do you live? I own it and it is one of the best imo. We have a group in Sweden and I thing we are in total 3-4 that owns one and we are about 5-10 that ride together at once..... normally we exchange wheels and there haven’t been anything to complain about from the others “non-owners “ neither...
      So it comes down to if you must have/prefer a locked down position when you ride or not. The 16x is not locked down so you have a large learning curve in that case....
      Also, if you plan to have a cruising speed around 50kmph all the time I wouldn’t recommend maxing any wheel... then go to a gw.
      Personally, it a fantastic wheel, love everything about it. Best thing is that it feels like a smaller wheel when handling it. When going very very slow it also handles great...
      Don’t know which tyre it is delivered with nowadays... I own the first batch ... (with gyro-effect), meaning that your brain has to adapt the sideways unevenness during the ride... it takes a few day to understand... now I don’t even think about it.
      I get around 100km/charge and weigh 66kg. Cruising speed around 30-40.
      No issues at al👌🏻

    • @Speedyfeetuk
      @Speedyfeetuk  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, Rich is correct; the rule is no teardown before 1000km so any fault cannot be attributable to a tear down. Only time there would be a teardown would be if there was a fault that needed fixing.

    I know you haven't stacked it, but there are issues with the perceived flimsiness of KS wheels are there not? Would you say the 16X still has these - or have they toughened them up I wonder? What's your take on this?

    • @Speedyfeetuk
      @Speedyfeetuk  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The KS18 yes in terms of those inner screws for holding the outer shells, the could do with being much better designed. Not had those issues with any KS16X we have sold (and actually the KS18 our only issue was Jon...does he count? Ha ha)

    at some point you need to come around on the safety feature: making noise. in an urban environment if people hear you, they acknowledge you - being silent is more dangerous. this makes the better sound systems of wheels not only a luxury, but an actual meaningful feature. I'd go as far as to have a player, so you could plug in a SD card loaded with music. Bluetooth connections fail all the time.
