- 70mai A800 4K Dashcam amazing performance in darkness. I am truly impressed at what 70mai achieved with this model. Using the SONY IMX415 4K-Resolution CMOS Image Sensor with 1/2.8 - 8.46M effective pixels was the right move.

Osmo has superior RockStrady EIS, and with *manual settings*, you get better results than GoPro 7 Black too. Osmo is waterproof basically so you can use it anywhere in rain. For any dashcam you should use the shutter speed between 1/100-1/160 to get readable plates on pause.

70mai does better in low light & dark sky with headlights for sure. Would be neat to see same 4 compared during daylight.
What type of dash mount are you using for the 70mai at the beginning of the video? My state does not allow window mounted cams so a mount like that one would be nice!
It's just an action cam mount with a C shape phone clamp which the 70mai fits nicely just blocks the rear screen. Maybe you can try just use flat base & double sided foam tape on action cam mount so rear screen will still be accessible

They starting to ship in Sept & I just received production firmware which enabled 4K front & 1080 rear in dual cam mode.

Wonder why aren't those budget action cameras ( such as akasos ) using this sensor for the products ? Perhaps it won't do well in image stabilization ?

Hi there. Is it true that the 70Mai A800 4K is actually shared between the two front and read cameras? meaning the recording of each camera will be 2K as best?

100% is 4K front
100% is 1080p back
Test the Dash Cam DDPAI Mini 5 for compare, this recording in 4K and has the same Sensor IMX415.
Watched some reviews already on TH-cam. The quality for both are comparable. Night view is especial astonishing. Day view is also not bad.
8Mega pixel is tightly enough to handle quality 4k video. Sooner or later the action cameras are going to use this sensor.
70Mai is good
Overall osmo action is best. Yes, at night 70mai is better with brightness, but colors worse too.(((
