So maybe they'll do a thing that either just gives you all 99 floors, or makes those presets trigger constantly? there's also fully randomized 'pity' encounters for when there's no ds signal for a long enough time. so maybe they'll shorten that considerably, too. honestly the avatar system and it's little details are so charming and apparently hint at (at the time) future final fantasy characters and games. which is wild and definitely needs to be preserved.

It's not that they forgot about it In development, they had lost the source code to KH1 and had to rebuild it from scratch which took most of their time and budget, which left little room for a Days and Re:Coded remake.

This right here is what I've been waiting for with Melon Mix. Days just isn't that great a game, and polishing it up like this can only do so much. But Re:coded is actually really good at its core, so polishing it up and modernizing it like this will actually make for a really great game. Looking forward to seeing the game with full HD textures and cutscenes!

Square enix is going to drop a surprise in it's phase two timeline. Making 358/2 days and recoded 3D remasters like they did to chain of memories. No way they don't see people asking for it.
It’s wild. I got a galaxy Z flip five a couple months ago and played. Recoded for the first time it was a great experience on a flip phone like that, but now that I have tried 358 on melon mix on my steam deck I’m so excited to try recoded because i like the way it plays so much better than 358

Of all KH games, I've never played Days and Coded since I never owned those games on my DS. Adding on with the fact that my DS has a broken dpad so even if I owned the game, I wouldn't be able to play it properly. Can't wait for fanmade remasters or even official remasters/remakes to release

i have both days and coded on my emulator, but I can already use my controller for the camera like you said in the video, just register the touchscreen to your right analog stick. the rest of the upgrades do look nice though can't wait too see the result

I just finished playing it. World Unqiue minigame HP bar doesn't show (idk if the original did that?) Collisuem HUD, Hollow Bastion HUD, the end credits and the command deck in general still look buggy. I was able to beat the game without them. Excited to see the improvements and play it more ❤😃
Theres actually rumors going around that a days/recoded remaster collection is in the works. Its just a rumor though so take it with a mountain of salt.
This is pretty amazing. Although I wish there was an android build. Would feel right having it on the phone. Would run well and feel like I'm playing on the DS again. I use the Razer Kishi Ultra when I play games on my phone. Feels better than most handhelds

And also don't always treat it like it's one of the worst kh games just because of the somewhat less relevant plot (because apparently a good kh game is how much relevant the story is 🗿) Tho I guess jrpg fans don't really care much about gameplay lol

Riku and Roxas were the best fights. Never tried the Super Versions of them in the hidden areas. But i will soon. Otherwise the rest of the game was pretty mid to be honest. Definitely a nice revisit in upscaled resolution with my controller though. Nostalgic
Don't play it on 16x native yet. The screen is filled with broken pixels. I'd say the best and most workable is X7 right now. This is from my own personal experience.

Well Re:coded is the one game where the gameplay is more interesting than the story most people would say that it's better to play the actual game of re:coded as the story is the game's weakest bit but the actual gameplay is pretty neat
definitely do Melon Mix, it was a mistake for Square to not at least try to remake the DS titles and instead relegate them to cutscene movies, if any game was to be made a cutscene movie I would've preferred it be Re:CoM
So long as its not a hassle to set up and not actually buggy in really annoying ways and the person you're recommending it to doesn't mind the graphics or emulation then yeah, I'd say it should be recommended, if they don't wanna soak time into it for mainly just the gameplay tho, the movie is fine
As a first time KH series playthru, if you only care about story, majority of kh players never played this so I'd say you're fine with 3hour cutscene movie of 2.5. But IF you have time for ANOTHER 20hour game AND must experience the gameplay of every game in the series, of course Melon Mix is the BEST way to play ReCoded. Since you could always quit the game anytime and just watch the rest of 3 hour cutscene movie instead if the 20 hour game started being not worth your time
I'd say the choice is between playing the original on a DS/3DS, playing Melon Mix when it's fully ready, or just skipping Re:coded entirely. The gameplay is actually really good in Re:coded (unlike Days), but you won't really miss any important story details by skipping Re:coded. And while the story is passable enough for a game, it really doesn't hold up as a movie IMO (unlike Days). So I don't think watching the movie version is really worth it. I honestly don't get the point of Square even including a movie version of Re:coded in 2.5...
I am a rare person,My first Kingdom Hearts game was Re:Coded (Thankfully I still got to enjoy the entire KH story),Goated gameplay even if the story is non-existent. Glad to see that there are people who see it for the gem it is enough to try and remaster it cause we all know Square won't

it's not just an upscale because melonDS already upscales it. This custom Melon Mix emulator development project combines both screens into just a single widescreen instead, fixes the outdated DS controls to be played on a modern gamepad, with hd cutscene movies & hd texture replacement coming soon! :D

The HD cutscenes are loaded in runtime, so if they are not inside the assets folder, they OG cutscene will be played instead
