I don't believe in term limits. That just motivates the "termed" person to accelerate their agenda before they're out the door. I would prefer people in office (or judgeships) know that they will be held responsible years from now for whatever they do today. Can't impeach a judge who's no longer on the bench. Also, electing judges is not the answer, either. We've already seen what happens in elections. Same corrupting influences are at work. For a judiciary that lives up to the principles Americans say they espouse, we need independent, qualified, diversified, representative and uncorrupt committees to work in tandem with responsible and uncorrupt elected representatives to choose the best candidates and vet them. The current problem is traced back to corrupt Congress and all the outside influences on them. And who puts Congress in their seats? We do. Who ignores the corrupting influence of powerful corporations, dark money, and interest groups? We do. Who put a corrupt wannabe dictator in the White House who would do anything to fulfill his personal needs and ambitions? Americans did. (With the help of Putin, of course...) Are Americans willing to stop purchasing the items Koch Industries sell? Or quit working for one of the Koch subsidiaries? Or pay attention when independent investigations expose the dark histories of political candidates who tell people what they want to hear? No, I didn't think so. So term limits won't help that.

"Dark Money" is money that is donated to a campaign but is secret. It was illegal until the Extreme Court decided that its party, the Republican Party, could not win without taking in secret monies. The reason for this is that GOP policies are unpopular and companies who publicly donate too much to them get boycotted and this affects their bottom line. So they wanted to donate secret bags of money instead of public ones and cracked their whips at Their Court which promptly found a case to hear which they could use as a vehicle to pretend that "secrets" are the same thing as "free speech".

I worry about those people, like frontline health care workers who have to wear them fo hours. But, most of us only need to wear them in enclosed public spaces. I have two cloth masks which I wash regularly. People in Asia have worn masks for years, people during the Spanish Infleunza epidemic in 1918 were asked to wear masks. They have been shown to help stop transmission. A healthy lifestyle, including sunshine and exercise is a great way to live your life and help to have a healthier immune system (and you can still be outside exercising in the sunshine even with a mask) but is not a global answer to the numbers of people dying from Covid-19. (Not sure who Tony is or if he has investment in mask companies...)

Go experience the Law as applied in Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Mexico, and Egypt in order to make a comparison. Both Democrats and Republicans have politicized and monetized the Justice system in America. However, the fact that we can discuss this corruption is a good thing. Also, and this point is very important, good people, who are judges, can still be seated, and are seated, even in a justice system that is becoming more political and corrupted by too much money. I don't believe in term limits. That just motivates the "termed" person to accelerate their agenda before they're out the door. I would prefer people in office (or judgeships) know that they will be held responsible years from now for whatever they do today. Can't impeach a judge who's no longer on the bench.
Also, electing judges is not the answer, either. We've already seen what happens in elections. Same corrupting influences are at work.
For a judiciary that lives up to the principles Americans say they espouse, we need independent, qualified, diversified, representative and uncorrupt committees to work in tandem with responsible and uncorrupt elected representatives to choose the best candidates and vet them. The current problem is traced back to corrupt Congress and all the outside influences on them. And who puts Congress in their seats? We do. Who ignores the corrupting influence of powerful corporations, dark money, and interest groups? We do. Who put a corrupt wannabe dictator in the White House who would do anything to fulfill his personal needs and ambitions? Americans did. (With the help of Putin, of course...)
Are Americans willing to stop purchasing the items Koch Industries sell? Or quit working for one of the Koch subsidiaries? Or pay attention when independent investigations expose the dark histories of political candidates who tell people what they want to hear? No, I didn't think so.

If you are referring to lobbying, all names and dollar amounts are on public record. That being said, more likely than not Facebook, or its board members, Likely donate to dark money networks. I say likely because we don’t know, it’s anonymous.
"Dark Money" is money that is donated to a campaign but is secret. It was illegal until the Extreme Court decided that its party, the Republican Party, could not win without taking in secret monies. The reason for this is that GOP policies are unpopular and companies who publicly donate too much to them get boycotted and this affects their bottom line. So they wanted to donate secret bags of money instead of public ones and cracked their whips at Their Court which promptly found a case to hear which they could use as a vehicle to pretend that "secrets" are the same thing as "free speech".

That was true until about 20 years ago when Chief Justice William Rhenquist declared that secret money is free speech and therefore corporations can now bribe parties in unlimited amounts of secret monies. In practice, that means millions of dollars can be given to a candidate by the same corporation(s) directly and on a you-scratch-my-back basis.

I worry about those people, like frontline health care workers who have to wear them fo hours. But, most of us only need to wear them in enclosed public spaces. I have two cloth masks which I wash regularly. People in Asia have worn masks for years, people during the Spanish Infleunza epidemic in 1918 were asked to wear masks. They have been shown to help stop transmission. A healthy lifestyle, including sunshine and exercise is a great way to live your life and help to have a healthier immune system (and you can still be outside exercising in the sunshine even with a mask) but is not a global answer to the numbers of people dying from Covid-19. (Not sure who Tony is or if he has investment in mask companies...)

Go experience the Law as applied in Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Mexico, and Egypt in order to make a comparison. Both Democrats and Republicans have politicized and monetized the Justice system in America. However, the fact that we can discuss this corruption is a good thing. Also, and this point is very important, good people, who are judges, can still be seated, and are seated, even in a justice system that is becoming more political and corrupted by too much money. This becomes more rare because of corruption, but does still occur.
