Thanks Carrie. Every little tidbit of information helps, and you have some big chunks of great info here. I have learned that being too stubborn and set in my ways with reselling really messed me up. And...don't go thrifting with the wrong "friend" lol.
I just found your channel! So glad you made this video because I'm just starting out on ebay. I saw another one of your videos where you were homeschooling your kids. I'm a homeschooling mom of two. So cool to see someone succeeding in this that's in the same stage of life! Thanks for the guidance!
You are so welcome! I'm so glad you're finding this now. It'll save you so much time and money!
I don't stop and comment often, but I had to for this one. This video was so informative, easy to follow and I definitely learned a couple of things that will boost my processes/listings as I'm just getting back into the game. So many videos are filled with fluff or miss some important steps. You did a fantastic job, thank you SO much!
Wow! I'm so glad it was so helpful for you, thank you for sharing :)
Oh, my goodness, this is the best, most logical and thoughtful presentation about how to start a reselling business! Thank you! I will keep this video saved and super handy for my inevitable questions!
Thank you!! This is the first time trying to teach this concept so I’m glad you found it helpful! The hardest part was trying to separate the beginner teachings from advanced teachings so I didn’t bog down the learning too much! 😵💫
Brilliant presentation; you made it clear and concise explaining why choosing a niche and doing it by the metrics is so vital to success, thank you for sharing this wise approach.
This video is great! I've been in the reselling game for about 8 years but it's always good to watch this content for a refresher. I feel it also gives me confidence I'm still doing things right and not to get discouraged if I have a slow day. Keep the videos coming!
Yes!! That’s great! I love listening to reselling stuff too just to keep my mind focused, fresh, and I still learn a thing or two to improve sometimes!
Would love a tag along video on jeans you turn down and why and jeans you pick up and why. Theres sooo many even within a single brand its crazy. Thank you for your videos I'm a mom of 3 one of which is autistic so reselling has been our saving grace income the past 4 years, just trying to get away from breakables because there is an abundance of them here in ohio but I hate shipping them!
For sure! I sprinkle in some jeans I pick up throughout some of my videos but I don’t mind talking more about them! That’s amazing you’re able to have reselling income to help you! ❤️
This was THE BEST video from your channel yet! One question: can you show your computer screen listing setup? You did the million dollar day video and showed your listing page alongside a window that had all the photos… I would love to see what you are using and how you’re set up. You are so efficient!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it 😊 the photos on the right side of the page were imported from my galaxy note phone so they’re all there for easy listing 👍
Thank you so much for this and making me feel like I can do it too. Wishing you and your family continued success! 🙌🏼❤️✨
Thank you Carrie! This video was extremely well done and most helpful.
I took many notes and will be putting your plan into action immediately. I was recently "down sized" by a company and need to get this going so I can be in charge of my own path. Can't wait for the follow up videos.
Another great video... appreciate the time you spend on making these videos.
I appreciate that!
Wow I've been selling on and off for eight years. I learned some things from this video. Thank you for sharing
Glad it was helpful!
Hi thanxs I am a few years down track now time to niche down ahhh thank you , your video makes soooo much sense ! Tech and sports is fab ! Can’t wait to see your new store !
Glad it was helpful!
I'm excited about the new series! I am on the struggle bus. Thanks so much! 💕
You’ve blown my mind. I’ve been wondering how to figure out what to source. This is so helpful, Carrie. You’re an angel. Thank you! ❤
I found this video very helpful. I'm already in the group but I've been considering nicheing down. The walk through to find items info was so helpful because I'm a visual learner.
May I ask what boxes, bags, and shelves you use? I need to fix my inventory eventually.
Hi! My bags are 12x18 and my boxes are 24x10x8. I forget what size my shelves though!
Ty for that. Is your number system where you reuse the numbers once they sell?
Very well done video. Thank you for putting this together!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Omg thank you so much!! Can't wait for that new video!
You are so welcome!
Love your content. Very helpful.
Thank you so much. This was extremely helpful. I wanna go back to school and still pay my bills somehow. 😭
Reselling is a nice side hustle! It will take time to grow it to the point where it can pay all the bills, but it came start out paying some bills if you sell desirable items right out the gate!
Thank you so much! This helped me so much since I’ve been thinking about niching down too. Btw, what size are your boxes? Are those the 30x8x8? Thanks!
Thanks for watching! The boxes are 24x10x8
@@carrieathome thank you! And what size bags do you use for pants?
Big money 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽 keep it going
Hi great video . Can you give the link to the group you mentioned I could not find it
Look at Technsports TH-cam channel and he’ll have a link to it! It’s his group :)
Do you have a link to the mailers you use?
Thanks for your help!
Love your videos!
Question for you, how many items do list per day? I watched your 120/day challenege but normally, what is your daily list goal?
We usually do 30 items a day.
30 a day for us!
Thanks! That seems reasonable. :)
120 a day is just crazy
I loved this video!! Thank you Carrie!
Do you offer free shipping?
Thanks for watching! I have buyer pay flat rate shipping 😊
@@carrieathome Thank you Carrie! I’m trying to jump from Poshmark to eBay. I have been selling on eBay for a year but it’s so much harder than Poshmark.
I didn’t know about the flat shipping strategy so I’m gonna go through each listing right now to change that 🫠
I'm a little confused on sorting by location. Why would that matter when ebay is a global platform? Lovvvvvving this video! Just a curious question!!
Good question! That part helps you find brands and items that are in your region that are being bought and sold on ebay. There are plenty of items that only the east coast would really have that the west coast wouldn’t, so on and so forth. So instead of potentially learning brands and stuff that you won’t ever find in your area, using the item location will help guarantee you’re learning about stuff that is in your area. Hope this helps!
Excellent video❤
Glad you liked it!
Good video. Has anybody told you you look like Amy Adams? Just an observation :)
I don’t believe I’ve been told that but that you!
Have you come across Evisu jeans in the wild yet? Found a pair at Goodwill recently.(they are selvedge)
Yes! They're soooo cool :D
Where did you get your reselling ruler at for the clothes? Thanks and your videos are very helpful
Walmart!
I just bought the same one at Walmart two days ago 😊
Carrie, what clear bags are you using to store the jeans??
12x18 polybags :)
Is there a way to create a listing and save it for later? Like a draft? I didn’t notice that option.
You can make a draft if you’re selling similar items! You can also pull a sold comp off your own ebay store and create a copy from there. That’s what I do and it’s how I make my listings so quickly.
Great Video!!!!!!!!!!
great video!
Question. Hello how many returns do get receive a week? Great video.
It comes in waves lol so last week I had none and this week I already have three
Do you put your jeans in the dryer? If so what settings?
Yea I use the dryer for the jeans. I honestly don’t know what setting I use, it’s a “smart” dryer so it dries until it sense all the moisture is gone. Lol
Carrie, could you tell me the size you use of the plastic bags and the size of the boxes you use to store your products in the basement. I sell womans clothes and these look like a good size for my products to store them in. Do you have a link that I can purchase these from you or where you get them? Thank You!
My bags are 12x18 and my boxes are 24x10x8 😊
Thanks would you mind telling me the company you use to purchase them?
I got bags from Amazon and boxes from Uline
@@carrieathome Do you have a video about your storage system, how you organize it by the numbers you put on your poly bags or skus, then how many items you can fit in the uline boxes, not sure how to set mine up, it looks like you guys have a great system?
Do you recommend going to yard sales to source clothing? Thx
I personally don't recommend it unless it's a church rummage sale or subdivision sale where a lot of sales are close together.
Do you have to deal with donations that have been hemmed or altered when sourcing?
All the time! Sometimes they’re sneaky but most the time, I’m able to tell of something has been altered.
Hey Carrie! Just wondering, when you say $140/$240k... and shooting for $300k this year, this is revenue/sales? What are you looking at for these 3 years as far as net profit???
Yep, that’s sales. Most ebay stores profit between 30-40% from their sales.
@@carrieathome thanks carrie! Is your store then typical, for each of these years were you at 30-40%? Thanks so much.
@@JohnD-m7p yes! :D
Although I sell on a different platform, I found your video so educational. Just subscribed. ❤
Welcome! Glad it was helpful :)
Do you not link/share your actual eBay store? ..I was trying to find it.
No I try not to showcase my store. I’m not looking for extra traffic on it.
Preach ❤
Enjoyed watching your detailed videos. I also just joined TechNSport group yesterday and hoping to learn more on reselling pre-owned items. With regards to accepting returns, what is your return policy? Like 30 days? Also what are the average percentages of return? Thanks!
I offer 60 day free returns and my return rate fluctuates between 4-6% but only about half the returns actually get sent back.
@@carrieathome Thanks, Carrie. That's good to know. You offer very generous return policy! 🙂
God Bless You
Does paying for ads help?
It helps move things faster but shouldn’t be the the thing that makes items sell, if that make sense. 😊
Do you think, to be a successful seller, one would need a TH-cam channel?.
A TH-cam channel is not needed to be successful on ebay. Plenty of successful people on ebay without being a TH-camr
eBay is saturated
There are a lot of sellers on ebay but not everyone does it well and plenty of sellers quit to make room for new ones.
I honestly think you focus on sell thru is a large contribution to your success. Everything sells, doesn't mean you should sell everything.
100% correct! I focused hard core on sell in the beginning. Now I’m focused on that and keeping profit margins up!
Thank you for sharing the info. I'm new to reselling, I started with books on Amazon and DVD's but looking to make $100 a day profit and think I could get there with clothing. Great advice on pricing listings and using the fee calculator.🤠
so just starting out with things from my closet including clothes, shoes, jewelry but then I have random home things. Is that a bad idea to have home items mixed with closet items? Great video.
Techn brought me here! And love that your family home schools. HUGE inspiration for our family !!!!
A few more good categories are DVDs, Books or Music. Also kitchen appliances or vacuums as these 2 categories you can sell just parts - a blender say may have 5 parts and a vacuum 10 to 15 parts so that gives you lots of listings. How many times have you seen free vacuums tossed aside - thats 10 to 15 free listings!
Wow! I never thought about vacuums!
Yes so many parts and very cheap to get....usually free and it doesn't matter if they work just toss away the parts you don't need. I am guilty of too many categories but I am thinning that down. I definitely focus on 100% sell through now on whatever I buy. I don't like clothing but seeing what you do with jeans I may dabble now. My favourite niche is DVDs. I like your channel. You and your husband are very good and keep up the good work!@@carrieathome
Love your channel!! Would love to see a jeans bolo video!
Noted! Thanks for watching!
Same!
Thank you for this video I just sold five vintage hats 🧢 that have the camel 🐪 cigarette logo on them. I bought them at a flea market on Saturday; paid $5, listed them the same day and yesterday there was an offer for $35 a piece. Very first good flip on eBay I was super excited so I’m definitely going to watch your video. Thank you so much 🙏🏻
That is awesome!
Question on when you have gone through all the steps up until you are searching for the sell through rate of an item...were you searching on ebay using another open window for the jcrew shirt or were you using the same search for the jcrew item that you previously searched the solds. I'm a little confused. Or does this matter? TIA
Hi what’s your EBay please? I might be interested in few things! thanks.
May I ask why it’s important to search in a 25 mile radius? In your example searching for men’s shirts…
You’re such a rockstar!!! 🎉🎉 That last idea of opening new ebay store is 🔝🔝🔝
Thank you so much!!
I was on eBay super small along time ago. Starting fresh now and soaking in all your videos!! Thank you
step 1. don't get banned for some non-reason (difficulty: impossible)
29:25 i use a tablet to make pictures and do listing.
is big enough and mobile. Regards from Germany
@5:37 BAM....become an expert in your niche....that's everything right there. Great video, Carrie! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for saying "niche" correctly, was losing my mind with every other reseller saying Nitch XD keep up the good work and thanks for the advice.
Lol! I hear nitch all the time. 😂
Both versions are actually correct
Is it Better to have an eBay store or just listings?
This video was so helpful. Please keep them coming.
Is it better to put items in a auction or just list for a set price?
Just found your channel and am new to reselling so I thank you very much for all of this content.👏👏👏👏 I'm looking for the link for the group to join and could not find it?
Welcome! I just added the link to the description :)
@@carrieathome thank you ☮️
Did you say tech and sports? Do not see the link. Thank you
Technsports! If you type his name into TH-cam, he’ll pop right up :)
❤❤❤❤❤
Wish I would've started ebay at your age ...you started the right way ! Love your channel 🎉
Thank you for watching!
I am so interested in having a jeans business as well
Love your content! What is your eBay store name?!
Thanks! I’m not sharing my main ebay store but I will share a smaller ebay store I’m starting up soon. :)
Another great video! I have to make so many changes in my store. Do you mind sharing the size of your boxes. Mine are too long and uncomfortable to take out my sales. Thank you again for your help. ❤
I have 24x10x8 boxes!
I really appreciate videos like this. As a beginner I need to start out prepared. And by beginner I mean, haven’t even listed yet! 😂
Same here, I need all the knowledge before I even start lol
Do you know that Hayley of Hairytornado gave you a huge shoutout during their What Not show last night? It is how I found you and subscribed!
Awesome! Glad to have you here 😄 and yes! Someone told me and I’ve reached out to Hayley to thank her!
I found you from there too!
does anyone know how to list all your drafts at once instead of clcking them one by one ?
There should be a select all option right above the first draft on the left side
@@carrieathome ty for answering my question
Did you skip a STEP 9 or did I just miss it???
Step 9 is shipping your item :)
Hi.Why you check the miles in your are, your buyers come from different states.
I didn't understand that part.
Thanks God Bless you
So you can study up on the brands and items that you’ll find in your local area. It’s not the only way but it’s a good way to study up on items you’ll actually find in your area opposed to items you might only find on the other side of the country.
@@carrieathome Hi thanks a lot to answer me explain I did not know that ,God bless you
I’ve been selling for 2 years part time. This january i decided to “get serious” and am doing much more.
This is good info! I loved it. Thank you!!
One thing I differ from you on is using my phone. I think it’s so much faster on my phone than the computer. Could be just me tho…
I’m so glad you’ve found this informative!
Yes and just found your! New subscriber here!❤
Hello where can you find eBay Profit calculator thank you
A link to it is in the description!
Found it thank you 🙏
This has been an awesome tutorial. Thank you so much! You have taken a lot of the "What, how and why" questions and put them into a format that made the process so simple. I love what you are doing. Thank you.
Thank you for the video, informative and to the point. It would be great to see a video of your storage system.
Also how do you calculate how much to set aside for taxes. Thank you!!
Lets win this end of 3rd quarter 💪.
WOW. Thank you. Super helpful information!
Great advice! I did mine completely backwards and regret it daily when I look at all the crap I bought 😂
I’ve been searching for a video like this thank you so much
Glad I could help!
Carrie, GREAT Video Girl! Anyone who is new or looking to start, needs to watch this series. You explain things in layman’s terms which make it easy for people with no experience to understand. Love the plug for the group! I joined a month ago and can’t imagine Reselling without the Reseller Greatness Group! I have shaved 6 months off the learning curve already! Looking forward to the Series of the New eBay Store to $3k!
Awesome Video. Thank You.
You are welcome!
My daughter has the same light fixture as the one over your kitchen table.
Great video and great eBay store! Don’t worry will not share it
You are so beautiful.
Hey Carrie. Help! My Honda is full of jeans and it’s all your fault. After a career in advertising and marketing, your niche approach appeals. We’ve been selling one product on Amazon for 6 years but aren’t confident in Amazon with its record of working with sellers; too risky. So, I’ve been looking for another backup source of income.
I found incredible bargains out in the wild on my first day of sourcing. Amazed that my husband enjoyed it too. Stacks of $.50 jeans? That leaves lots of room for errors. Ch-ching! Love your videos. Thanks for all you do.
Cheap lessons are better than expensive ones! Best of luck!
Awesome video, im glad i found it (and you guys) im also jumping into the ebay/youtube world and need all the help i can get 🙏
Thank you 😊
Welcome aboard!
This is an excellent video that you've produced. For getting started on eBay! Truly enjoying your channel and learning a lot!
Thanks for watching!
I’m a little confused… If you’re saying to 10 times every dollar spent but only $15 profit… That would put sure cost of goods at around a dollar to $1.20 after fees, etc. I just wanna make sure I’m understanding correctly
I was dramatizing that part to give impact. You can totally 10x your dollar if you do the research for it but for the sake of the example, I focused on $15 profit because that’s a good starting point.
I sell all types of Collectibles on eBay.. Hot Wheels, Action Figures, Sports Cards etc etc.. $3,000 a month would be a dream.. I’m learning a lot from you.. I will continue to watch your channel.. Thank You for your help.
Thanks for watching!

Why do you search within a certain amount of miles? Just curious. I've never heard anyone else say to search that way.
So you can study up on the brands and items that you’ll find in your local area. It’s not the only way but it’s a good way to study up on items you’ll actually find in your area opposed to items you might only find on the other side of the country.
Would you be willing to do a video explaining how you pay yourselves? Like a percentage or if you have a set amount that you spend on inventory every month and then pay yourselves the rest, etc.
I set an amount that I always want in the ebay bank account. Anything past that threshold, I send to our personal account
