I'm not entirley sure as I focus on the Australian Army however I'd assume it wouldn't be too different. I believe officers carried the Webley MK VI Revolver as that was the standard issue side arm of the time. I believe that was the only real weapon they had unless they had picked one up for themselves along the way. You may have seen some cases of them wearing the standard infantry equipment but as far as I know that's unlikely. Hope this helps mate!
