The Audio was captured via a GoPro Hero 3 in the Trunk with a iPhone Headset Microphone on the outside, plus a Audio Layer of the POV Cam (GoPro Hero 4) with the internal Microphone

I’ve always wondered what that low hum is from a Mk3 Supra. My Dad’s 89 has that sound but both of my 88’s didn’t have it. Does it have something to do with the updating steering rack? Btw, never saw another video that really captures that sound until now. Love it! Great sound quality

Hmm i think i‘m not sure what low hum you mean. Is it a exhaust note at low rpm, or a different sound what you meant? I can only think of the fuel pump as well. Because i recorded the sound from the rear bumper. On the rear you can cleary hear the pump. Constant hum like sound, or more like a hydraulic sound, if that makes sense.

@@TheAustrianDuke You hear the sound for the first time kicking in at 0:35 at about 3.1k rpm. Again at 0:51 and disappears when you shift but returns at 0:59 and disappears at 1:02. I thought it could be some noise from the turbo because it kicks in around 3k rpm. However, now that I‘ve owned a turbo 88 and don’t hear that noise it threw me off.
@@emilysoloman7698 Oh i think i know what you mean. Yeah it‘s that first proper spool-up from the turbo, at this rpm range. It can come a bit sooner if you floor it more.
I‘m using an open custom airbox with a pod-filter, and the turbo is upgraded to a -57 trim (CT26-57 trim). Maybe this is the reason. And the 3 inch exhaust from the turbo back, can be a reason as well. The bigger exhaust should help with spool up.
Modern turbos spool up way different, more high pitched. This old ones sound a bit more like a certain „shhhh“.
I have a POV video like this, but with open roof, and another one. Try watching these ones, to hear more from the turbo. Maybe its really this, what you meant.

Thanks! ✌️ engine is pretty much stock. Some ARP bolts and studs. Mishimoto water radiator. Intercooler and oil cooler are stock. Blitz BOV. Apexi Intake. 3“ Downpipe, 100cell Cat., HKS Silent Hi-Power Catback. I think thats pretty much it, performance wise. Greetings ✌️

DId this car have good power even with 230 hp ? cause I saw she reach 0-60 mph in 7.6 sec something like that, isnt too slow ? we can have much fun with this car?

Greetings! Happy to hear that. Yeah mine was modified by the previous owner. I only changed the coilovers, a new Catback Exhaust, and some minor things, interior bits and such.
I think the 230+hp are pretty good. Not by modern standarts, but for the time back then, the Mk3s are great. They´re quite heavy for a Coupe, but i think it´s okay. If it is a model which has been taken care of, you´ll be happy. And if she´s a bit modified with more hp, it´s even better (if it´s done good, and not some crappy mods). I also think the Mk3 have a real good 80s time-machine feel to it. So if you enjoy a good "old" sportscar, it´s a pretty good choice! Greetings from Austria

Want to do very minors modifications like to boost the engine that is easily tunable but I want it for a daily usage so!
I like the 80s/90s in Japan ( or other too) and want a car that I love (old sport car )

Hallo, ich hab mir vor 3 Wochen auch ne Supra gekauft. 90er Baujahr mit 7M-GTE. Alles noch stock. Mich würde interessieren ob du den HKS Auspuff eingetragen bekommen hast.

Grüß dich! Geil zu hören, Gratulation zur Supra! Ja der ging eigentlich problemlos einzutragen. Da er sogar nur serien db erreicht hat. Wurden jedoch +3db eingetragen, da sich das ja zum teil noch nach oben etwas ändert/erhöht.
Macht aber bestimmt nicht jeder Prüfer.

@@TheAustrianDuke Haste den dann ganz normal beim TÜV eintragen lassen? Wie kann das sein dass der serien db hat? Soweit ich weiß (Achtung gefährliches Halbwissen) haben die so um die 93 db oder?

Das ging beim Land Oberösterreich, durch den JV Imports. Dadurch dass sein Prüfer halt schon die Erfahrung mit japanern & den Abgasanlagen hatte. Jedoch hört sein Prüfer auf und es können aktuell keine neuen Abnahmen angenommen werden.
Das mit den db hab ich auch gehört, jedoch ist das nicht die praxis (wer weiß wie die werte gemessen wurden), jedoch ist es bei einer Standmessung bei Nenndrehzahl bei mir (und den meisten anderen) bei ~86-87db.
Turbos werden mit Drehzahl eher leiser. Im Leerlauf denkt man sich das könne ja niemals legal sein, aber es wird leiser mit drehzahl - und dort muss es passen. Leerlauf is egal, soweit ich weiß. Und db ist sehr subjektiv. Kann laut klingen, ist es dann db technisch garnicht.

@@TheAustrianDuke Danke für die schnelle Antwort. Hab leider (noch) kein Instagramm, werde aber glaub ich morgen schnell einrichten😉. Ich hab eigentlich vor meine Supra größtenteils im Serienzustand zu lassen. Apexi Sportfilter, ein Paar Spurplatten und eben einen Auspuff. Ich finde die Optik vom HKS nur ein bisschen übertrieben. Vorallem auf meinem Wagen da ansonsten Optisch kaum was gemacht wird. Eine Doppelendrohr Anlage wäre für mich perfekt, hab aber bislang noch keine gefunden außer die HKS-let-t16. Die ist mir aber von dem was ich so gehört hab auch zu leise.

Versteh dich voll & finde ich auch eine gute idee. Mit einem eher serien nahem Fahrzeug fährt man auch einfach sorgenfreier finde ich. Man bewegt das Auto einfach mehr/öfter.
Optik bzgl HKS versteh ich. Und ja die doppelrohr HKS ist eher Serie, lässt jedoch mehr Leistung durch. Die Hi-Power Silent klingt super, aber dröhnt auch etwas & fällt manchmal negativ auf. - die leute glauben denk ich oft vorschnell das sei bestimmt illegal. Oder aber es kommen die kiddies auf einem zu & glauben das auto kann launchen (feuer schießen 😂).
Alternativ sollte es aus den Staaten bzw. Japan auch noch andere geben, zb Fujisubo, mit etwas größerem rohr, aber lang nicht so groß wie die Hi-Power und deutlich mehr sound.

Vom eintragen her sollte bei passendem prüfer jede machbar sein - wenn sie beim Standgeräusch passt und eben der prüfer damit einträgt. Machen viele nicht weil es mehr arbeit ist das gutachten zu schreiben, oder so, genau weiß ich es selbst nicht. Das hat der JV-Imports für mich erledigen lassen. MfG

@@mrmotorsport6525 Yeah i think it‘s the right amount without spending too much on the engine. Internals are pretty much stock. Turbo is also stock but bigger compressorwheel & exhaust side.
