I was one of those kids that can say I walk 2 miles to school every day in the snowstorm. I lived by Allendale and we would usually walk across the golf course down behind the YMCA on to Dean Morgan. We were late all the time in the winter which that’s what homerooms for. But it wasn’t the snow it was the wind and the wind chill will drop the temperature way down subzero a lot not unusual to see 20 or 30 below windchill factor. Of course it was in the 70s and there wasn’t anybody make an announcement or anything just walked home with your back to the wind I remember that a lot

    Sounds great to me!
I'm retiring in a couple of years.
I visited Casper 2 years ago and loved the place. I plan on moving after I retire.
Funny story; was talking with a lady in Casper and I asked her about the snow. She just said, "Well, the snow does fall here but if you wait it will blow into another county."

Talk about Buffalo. Has a giant outdoor swimming pool in city park. Largest in the states. Great area to live east side of Big Horn mountains. Beautiful scenery and climate year around. Lots to do, work and play. Horse country.

Never before wandered about these parts of the world however your videos are truly intriguing. Congratulations! Could you also let us know which are the highest recorded summer temperatures in summer during the last decade and of course how efficient is the health system in Wyoming’s towns? Thank you

The snowfall is not extreme. Currently looking at 120 acre property 10 miles south of town, From Canada so the climate is not an issue. Property listed at $400k.

When I lived in Casper, I saw snow in September, just a couple of years ago. But it is a great place, and I still go back 2 to 3 times a year to see my Grandkids up near Barr Nunn.
If I'm not mistaken, Casper Mountain is North end of the Laramie Mountain Range.
    Love the video's!

Ya. I live in Houston but I'm looking for the polar opposite. Lol. I thrive in cold weather and hate the humidity and heat here (was born in the Midwest and enjoy winter but was mostly raised in Houston). It's overcrowded here too. I want less people and more hiking and outdoors stuff. I like other things about Texas that I think would be similar in Wyoming though like low taxes. We are looking at the mountain West and I would probably be the happiest in Wyoming. I think my wife would be happier in a city environment in Colorado. I just need to convince her a place like this might be a compromise in the not so distant future.

But its dry snow. I lived in the foothills on the sierra Nevada in californa. The snow is very wet and we call it sierra cement as it refreezes and its like concrete. Can't even chip it off the road. So dry snow is more less heavy and not as slushy.
But the winds. I can't take 60 mph winds and the windchill. Thought about caspar and Laramie and Cheyenne for retirement. But the winds, snow, and windchill woukd be really tough to take.

@@alishacollinsrealestate I have family in Cheyenne, family just down the street in Missouri. Also Oregon, Washington and Alaska: neighbors to you. I was a resident of Washington for residency and voting reasons, only visiting every few years on furlough from East & Southeast Asia where the snow was measured in monsoon rains. I did time in Western Europe where snow was not so bad, big into winter sports and camping: I'm 68 now and disabled with a broken back from a long career in fire & rescue: no winter sports and I don't cut grass or rake leaves. Forget about shoveling snow (I'm seventy miles West of Washington, DC, in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia! One of the few remaining counties and fast becoming very Marxist Democrat! And I don't suffer RINOs well! I'm not impressed with the Wyoming U. S. Representatives at all! Like I just wrote, I don't suffer RINOs!). Once my wife passes from Alzheimer's, I'm leaving Virginia. Probably taking one of my adult children with me. I've disowned six of them already ("Honor your father and your mother"). I still have more, no worries. My wife and I are known home schoolers from 33 to 36 years ago in court. Sixteen of my grandchildren are home schooled. You may have picked up that I am not "a" conservative: I am "the" conservative. In a room full of alpha-males I am "the" Alpha-male, lol! Probably too strong a personality for Casper, being too much the individual. Dogs and children like me. And even cats. I am looking. We tend to live old and tough. I've got maybe thirty and more years left before I die. I'm a crackerjack administrator, manager, leader and commander. All the skills an old man should have, coupled with past experiences from all over the World! I don't like snow. But I don't have to work in it anymore. If I ever get around to letting the surgeons cut on my back, I might. See if banded Galloway cows can tolerate Wyoming. One son raises them in the Highlands of West Virginia.

What are the regulations that I should be considering before a move there? Are there welding jobs to be had, and what are the regulations for living in the woods "near" Casper?
