  • In this video, I show you how to make, what I like to call, a warm water bucket shower. I review the Immersion Water Heater Bucket Heater and the Iron Hammer Portable Shower. I talk about using a portable power station (solar generator) to power the heater, which makes everything portable.

    I like your style. Not clickbait. Not (I think) fear mongering. Good info. Keep it up.

      I try my best not to be part of the click bait (Do this before we all burn) crowd. Nor do I do fear mongering. I make a point not to. I would probably get more hits, but thats not my style. Thanks for seeing that!

    Our shower bucket is also our washing machine, when we camp. We just warm up the water on our camp stove. Thanks for the video!

    I love your videos. You offer such practical information. I've been trying to figure out how to have a hot shower in a power outage. It's a small luxury, but huge moral booster. Thanks for sharing 🚿

      You are correct about "a huge moral booster"! The more you can do to make life more normal in a power outage, the better.

    I made a video on my “shower in a bucket”. It’s a solar shower….fill it in the morning, put the cover on, place in the sun. That evening I have a shower 90-100 degrees or better depending on sun!! Have used it for about 4 years now!!!

    • @LoneStarPrepping
      @LoneStarPrepping  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds good. But when camping when cold out or less sun, it helps to have portable power station.

    Great idea!!! I’ve been thinking about this exact scenario for when I lose power during the winter. So far all I came up with was the shower bag you hang in a tree when camping and a hot pot to heat the water. I like yours much better! Sold! Thanks for all of the details!! 😃😃🚿🚿

    I hope people read the reviews on that yellow one. It burned down someone's hot tub and enclosure. There were a several reviews that says it's leaked and tripped the breaker or burned something down.

    • @LoneStarPrepping
      @LoneStarPrepping  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It has a 4.0 out of 5 on reviews of 587 users, and I have never had any problems with it. I use it only with my portable power station, and I keep an eye on it the whole time to only heat up 5 gallons. Like with anything, people should do their own research, for sure. I imagine anything is possible, but I would never use it unattended and never touch the water unless it is unplugged.

    You already have a bucket heater if you have a SOUS VIDE machine. As a plus you can cook with it. 😉

    • @LoneStarPrepping
      @LoneStarPrepping  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, this may work for this situation, but my full emmersion heater is cheap and heats up the water just fine. But if you alredy have a sous, great!

  • @lawhoff9581

    Another tip that works. Leave the shower head in the bucket when not using. Stand a little away so you don't get soap in the bucket. Helps so there is no water waste when not needed. (instead of trying to turn showerhead on and off)

    • @LoneStarPrepping
      @LoneStarPrepping  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the suggestion, but I dont want to take the time to remove the shower head, put it in the bucket, then wash, then have to mount it back up again and rinse when all I have to do is turn a dial. There are other portable showers out there that dont have the dial and are less money. In that case, I can see doing it your way. I had one... and I returned it for the one in the video.

    • @lawhoff9581
      @lawhoff9581 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LoneStarPrepping gotcha. But this would be when you don't have the shower head mounted. Camping or just not within an area that has a flat place to mount the shower head bracket.

    • @LoneStarPrepping
      @LoneStarPrepping  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @lawhoff95 I agree. If I were not going to hang it in a tree (It comes with an attachment for that), I would do just what you said.

    Really like your informative video's. I have a quick question. Do you have a video of the room where you store ALL of your many testers, gadgets and equipment 😂? There's absolutely no way that All of them will fit in a closet or chest of drawers! I'm thinking more like a 30'x40' storage building!😀 God Bless and keep up the good content. P.S. New Sub😉

      Thanks for the sub. I store my testers etc... in a drawer in a large file cabinet. You can see one of drawers at the end of this video...

    Awesome video I really enjoyed it I would think if you turn the flow rate on that dial on the shower head to maybe 50%, you still might be able to get by taking a shower and your 5 gallon bucket essentially would act like a 10 gallon bucket 😁🤔👍

      I found just the right amount of flow vs amount of time for me. My wife uses a different flow. Nevertheless, there is no need to keep it flowing while lathering hair or soaping up body etc...
