Bob I am so happy that you were connected Nomadland and were mentioned as a contributor to an Oscar winning film. For me I just think the film and more importantly the nomad movement would not exist without your TH-cam videos. I was wanting you in part to see you on stage to help accept the award but the other half of me said no he will not be there because he isn’t looking for fame and attention. You are a person that truly cares about people and in selfless conviction you stood back in the background smiling. I have watched the movie 10 times and I get more and more excited about being a nomad when I retire! Thank you Bob for giving knowledge and hope to us that are the work horses! Great job!

Folks in the world of horses use these portable systems at their barns and for traveling to horse shows, rodeos, etc. I've been promoting these for vanners every chance I get. The ability to use it outdoors made it valuable for horse owners ...and now campers. PS your thumbnail is priceless!

Hot water I just fill a kettle heated on any camp fire or stove. My showers a bucket and pale. Worked for me this method for over 45 years of living a alternative life style. Simple cheap and it works, stay simple is my look on life. Saves a fortune.

Such material a few hours after the Oscars were awarded! Maciek Slodyczka and his brothers from the Joolca company could not have found a better place.
I took the course on Udemy. I recommend it to anyone like me who is contemplating this option of living. Probably worth taking the course if you are already out there.

Bob I just want to leave a comment for anyone who might use a system like this in colder weather. We bought one years ago. Not this brand. Not nearly as nice. But expensive back 6/7 years ago. We left it in our outdoor shower at the farm. Well it got below 32 degrees. And an element inside froze. It destroyed it because my husband who can fix anything said there was just not a part to order to fix it. We had to purchase another one. And it’s never left outside. It’s in the cabin. Safe an sound. So just a heads up so that no one hopefully makes the mistake we did. I do like this system much better. It’s the real deal. Enjoy it! Leslye

I’ve been thinking about this for about 16 years. 3 years my daughter will go to college and I’ll just be traveling with my cat and dog. Been doing some loose planning but I’m ready to leave this big house behind and all these bills and stop dwelling on pointless things. Start realizing I’m safer than I think. I can take care of myself and I don’t need things to give me character or memories. I have those in my own. I still have some things I’m thinking about... storage space for a few things? Learning about solar power. Rv vs camper or van etc. but I’m sure it will all work out. Sag heart and freedom!!!

Congratulations on the Oscar! Thank you for the videos, I nearly become homeless a few years back and began following you channel. I’m healthy again and working as a mobile dog groomer. This may be an option for hot water if I’m ever brave enough to build my own rig and become an entrepreneur. I’ve seen the ads and didn’t know how well designed this product is.
Looks similar to the one we used in early 1980's when I lived in the Six Rivers Nat'l Forest, having built a home and using a generator. It was a great asset to have, and this one that you're sharing I'm sure is a wonderful product and will make a person feel at home. Hot water really is a luxury!

Oh thats fantastic! Yes, a luxury item for sure but wow. Including the sink & drain boards, the temp & water controls? Delightful.
Really looks a game changer. On half power no problem to throw down a shower pan and have a temporary curtain magnetic to the ceiling even. Don't need to take up permanent storage space or living space with a shower cubicle .

Having access to affordable hot water to wash your hands ,dishes ect during a pandemic is pretty important. Thankful for this solution. I'm adding this in to my van build. This is affordable , effective and I'd say it's a necessity. Especially considering some states are rolling back to phase 1 on Covid restrictions.

I've been looking at these since last year and I think they're magnificent!!! The water right out of the lake with the filter in the video on their website is what sold me.
Nice to see you're endorsing such a fabulous Aussie product. They also make fantastic ensuite tents too, so easy to erect and really sturdy.. The Australian RV community loves Joolca products. Enjoy the luxury of hot water, thanks to us Aussies. Am presuming it is as water wise as it is efficient, as we are the driest continent in the world and drought is more common than years of plenty. I have had my eye on one of these since Joolca released them. Glad your review was so positive!
I'm guilty of LONG hot showers once a month when I stay at a motel, because like you Bob, I really miss hot running water. I've been considering an "on demand" system for a while, but like this one, just can't justify the expense, yet. I still leave a jug of water out all day, hoping the wind chill won't "hurt" me to much. 😆

I am going to work this into my build. I live in a cold climate and want to be able to easily winterize. Even though my camper van has a shower system plumbed in, I want to make our van more 4 season. This is a great alternative
That's cool to have. You deserve to have something for yourself and, have hot running water. I'll get one when they come down in price. Everything costs more when it first comes on the market.
You should give us a tour of your van sometime since you're always giving tours of other people's setup. I've never seen it and, am sure other people would like to see it.

Hello Bob. I use 2 other similar water heaters. The water heaters cost $100 refurbished from Gasland $125.00 for Eco temp L5 The cost of my water pump is $180.00 from a rv store.
Both are great water heaters and you can control the temperature. I use my eco temp daily in my mobile dog grooming van and it's lasted 9 years. I admit I actually broke it, it just needed the little water screen cleaned. We have been using the refurbished garland for 2 months and so far it's doing its job. I think you will be happy with your new shower. For the money I think you got a nice gift. Hope to meet you this year. Rick

I feel like this video was made just for me! New savings goal!
A better idea for nomads is a portable camping shower pump from Amazon, a five gallon bucket from Home Depot, and a 2-3 gallon solar shower bag.
Heat up 2-3 gallons in the solar bag. If its hot outside that water will be too hot so add 2 gallons or so of cool water. If its cool outside the water in the solar bag wont get very warm (even in direct sunlight) so heat up 2 gallons or so using your cook stove
Pour the water from your solar bag and the additional 2-3 gallons of either cool or hot water into the 5 gallon bucket. Put in your camping shower pump and you are ready.
I use this setup with my 29’ rv. I put the 5 gallon bucket with me in the shower rather than use the built in shower system that comes with my old rv.
If you dont have an indoor shower you can get a shower tent and use that outside. But be warned it can get cool outside in the winter months and that shower tent can blow away.
I also use my Anytime Fitness gym membership to access a clean shower in almost any mid size city in the USA.
