Greetings from Italy, Florence. I'm on my Suzuki Jimny 4x4 petrol 1.3 with a 2001 m13a engine. In 2021 I replaced the engine oil with Liqui Moly leichtlauf performance 10w40, a good product, and in 2022 I changed the oil at 12,000 km, took the ceratec additive and put liqui moly leichtlauf mos2 10w40 as engine oil, also a good lubricant and then I use additives liqui moly for cleaning the petrol injection system and valves!
Sweet video brother, I got a 23' Dmax SX earlier this year. It's currently on 7,400kms. It alternates between normal driving and towing every so often. I'll organise for it to be serviced once it hits 10,000kms. I've been reading on various forums to replace fuel filter regularly as well. Thinking to do that too when my Dmax hits 10,000kms. Thanks for showing where the engine oil filter is, looks like a real pain in the arse spot (typical😂)
Re the 15,000klm service interval, that is purely a sales pitch to make a potential buyer think he's making a big save on service costs. Some idiots will argue that if Isuzu quote 15,000 then it must be ok, okay to get the vehicle through the warranty period, but it won't be a long lasting engine. Good instructional!
Great job mate. I usually do mine every 10,000. We bought our MUX in 2017 and towed our caravan around Australia almost two times, absolutely beautiful motor for towing, love it. Great video mate.
@@Chucky-b7v Check the manual. Australia is considered a 'severe operating' environment and requires 5K km oil change intervals. When towing you halve the other intervals for drivertrain oils.
Heck yeah! Ripper vid mate. 15,000km service intervals is definitely pushing the effective lifespan of engine oil, especially when using a small diesel engine. 5000-7500km seems more reasonable in the long run.
FYI…that oil is specced for up to 100000km intervals with appropriate oil condition monitoring. This quality of oil is easily able to cope with 15000km intervals. Fair enough if you want to change it more regularly, but it is not necessary.
@@baronvonaux8294 hey mate I know it is but have a look in your service manual that’s in ya glove box and have a good read it will say in extreme driving conditions, short trips or towing change every 5K so just be careful , if I’m just doing highway km I’ll give it 10k or 7.5K which is fine
@@baronvonaux8294 Sounds good to me too, mate. I’ve read the same thing as well! I change my oil every 10,000 k’s going around Australia isn’t cheap! I done highway miles just cruising and used all the best oil’s for longevity of my motor. My manual stated 20,000 kms servicing for my 2017 MUX, so I done it every 10,000 and had the differential and gearbox oil’s changed before their time was due also. Thanks for clarifying your thoughts on servicing. Great input 👍🏼
Good video mate - And I have had the local Isuzu dealer trying to dissuade me from extra oil changes on my 2023 MUX….. implying I am over cautious and wasting money (implication is that I am stupid or something). What page of the (Huge) manual has this recommendation for more frequent oil changes?
Hi Alex I see you use ryco @ 5k intervals not a genuine oil filter is there much diff in price .knowing that you do every 5k ,lube / filter .what about fuel filter every 20k .
Does your dealer say anything? Ya still under warranty etc. Any issues with them? Side note ya passenger tyre is bald on the inside but ya drivers side looks perfect wtf?!?
Yea so dealer in fine print says in extreme driving conditions 4wd and towing etc or short trips it should be done every 5K and yea the mechanics at the dealers and bloody hopeless unfortunatly they over tighten the shit out of my sump bolts , left my drum brakes till they were metal on metal and every time I had taken it there for a service I would always have issues with something after , and yea haha I had to do a wheel alignment but was out bush for a while so my wheel was coooooookedddd 😂
I have found as new car warranty I get the oil change done. The interesting point and everyone should periodically check your engine oil level. Check the following day the engine oil level? I read in owners manual it says upper dot hole is max. Some say x mark. Some say upper plastic level. It does your head in lol.
I wondered when the Australian would show up, was right at the end "focus ya c@nt" hahahaha
Haha Ken oath mate
Yep, that was gold!

Where have you heard this about the fuel filter? I only just purchased my 2023 MUX and am interested to learn more about servicing this.
Na not to bad mate and the little slippery dip works a treat!
@@jolyonrussell7021 yea mate definetly check ya fuel filter every 10k depends on how it looks change it every 20-25k
Nice to see somebody looking after their vehicle. Service times are way too long on most vehicles today. Oil and grease is cheaper than metal.

Well said !
Prefill that filter mate. Although you'll need to tip some out before fitting the filter, the material soaks a lot up.

10K is too long with our shitty diesel, dusty environment and the towing use.
